A classic of which I "believe" was the start of Hard Rock [strictly IMO]. What the hell do you need 14 seconds back for? you've been around since the primortial ooze came in on a metor. He didn't say "Need;' he said "Want" and from my experience in poking the grim reaper last year... I'd like a whole lot more than 14 seconds back, ya mutt. Chuck, I never knew that. I've heard very few songs that can equal or top the original... and, in some cases, I really wish people wouldn't push them out if they can't meet or beat it. It ruins the original for me. I can tell you that in those cases where I've heard a remake of one of my many favorites - my tendency is to not even listen so it doesn't ruin it for me. I was surprised when I walked into a friend's house and heard David Cook on American Idol do a remake of "Eleanor Rigby." Literally stood there ready to put my hands on my ears a howl at the moos (prolly why I don't watch AI)... but he did a great job [IMO] of making it new and I thought that even Paul McCartney could appreciate this kid. "Eleanor Rigby" remake by David Cook. Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.

It was neither my intention to limit it to 3, nor for everyone else to prioritize. The number was open-ended and the order is inconsequential. Admittedly, I thought about Cream and not unlike you have more favorites I could add... those are just my own personal top three in which listening to several times never made my ears bleed. One that I left off was... now correct'me if I'm wrong - The Windmills of my Mind by Vanilla Fudge? We had a rash of similar mailbox incidents. I took a 4" steel pipe and drove it into a bed of fresh concrete, then filled it with the same, then welded the new steel box to the pipe. Even pickup trucks don't fare well against a concrete filled steel pipe, dumbass!!!! Nobody has time to listen; because they're desperately chasing the need of being heard.
