    Threads???

No, no, no... someone posted anoymously, and said they had sex in the plane... we were all supposed to guess who it was... I simply guessed it was you 'Sis... I think the thread is called "guess what I did..." or something of the sort. As we later learned, it was Jumpergirl... I wonder who the lucky boy was??? Anyway, I hope I didn't get you in tooooo much trouble, April!

Omri, after failing miserably here, now you know why you should pay attention in school - so you can participate in meaningful discussion with your skydiver friends!!!

Anon, this is good perspective... farming is a business. And some people just don't like ANYONE trespassing on their private property.
  4. Gee, I don't know if I'm ready to see Kingy prancing down a fashion runway quite yet... Don, are you up for that???
  5. Well I think that $20 US is about $450,000 CAN right now, so let's keep it as low as possible...
  6. Ya, grasshopper, I do have the balls. Why do you think I said it in the first place??? ... I don't think the term "hook" is synonymous with "high performance landing"... maybe you and others do, and that's just fine with me... but we, as participants in this sport, need jargon that differentiates between dangerous low "carving toggle turns" and the much safer "front riser manuver". Clearly, you are confused about the definition of a "hook turn"... well I've indicated the definition I subscribe to. Can you suggest something clearer? Frank (who's just starting to swoop a little - or maybe "skim" is a more suitable term for what I'm doing - by pulling on both front risers on final)
  7. Like someone said in that other thread, a hook turn is a 180 toggle turn... at least that's what I've been lead to believe. A "high performance landing" using front riser approach is not a hook turn...

uhh - Boeing didn't build the whole Internation Space Station... Lockheed Martin and Honeywell are just 2 of the other American companies with major contibutions. Other member countries of the team are Russia, Japan, Canada, Italy, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, France, Spain, Germany, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom and Brazil. Yes, there is intelligent life outside the borders of the USA - even in the UK!!! Mike, I hope you are all "pink and fuzzy" again today - heads up though, 'cause the MIR space station is coming down in just a few hours. Better take your brolly with you if you head outdoors today!
  9. We've been thru this before, up/down/over/under in fact! Dolphin 2000 containers (in production since April of 1998) ARE freefly friendly. And back to being "experienced" ... I've been jumping since may/98. That's almost 3 years... I've done about 45 jumps in the past year (since I got my own gear). Although I've got just 77 jumps now, I have been studying this sport pretty much every day for the past couple of years... but that doesn't make me experienced. It's how much time you have spent in freefall and under canopy that counts. AT 200 jumps you can get a document that says "D" on it, but when compared to skydivers who have over 1000 jumps, you still have a longggggg way to go (IMHO). There are a couple of people at my DZ with over 24 hours of freefall time. Now THAT is experienced! But I get what you mean, Kirshan, about how we are catagorized by the manufacturing industry! Frank
  10. I jumped here (Victoria) on Dec 4th when it was -16c (or 3f) at altitude... just around freezing level on the ground... it's not too bad if you have good gloves and dress warm! Hell, I'm never too aware of temperature 'till I'm under canopoy anyway! Frank
  11. Good for you, 'Sis! We've been waiting for some leadership from one of our ladies!!! Happy Birthday to you (sung to the tune of the Beatles Birthday song)...
  12. Not in my book... anyone under 200 jumps is a novice as far as I'm concerned. You don't have much "experience" at 30 jumps... Frank
  13. I have about 45 jumps on a previously owned Silhouette 210 (77 jumps total now). I have it loaded at 1:1 ... I quite like it!!! Lotsa fun to fly, great openings, no problems landing it, and it packs easily. I would not hesitate to recommend this canopy to a novice/intermediate jumper. Frank

  16. We men are pigs - ain't it great!?! Too bad about the hottie, though...
  17. All work no play makes Doafsu a dull boy... ya just GOTTA stay in touch on DZ.com during the day (or night) to ward off the evils of becoming too wrapped up in your work - the weekend is coming !!!

I'm afraid to try golf, myself... worried that I'll have to get clubs and a membership if I like it! I've already got one too many expensive hobbies (and I don't mean brewing beer!) Frank
  19. How 'bout a bloody great huge picture of ... me!!! Or maybe not... No - really - I quite like the idea of having something we can get done locally and personalize... shirt with a DZ.com logo, then whatever we can add to it ourselves... of course, I'll need your help with the scissors and glue, Jeji ... and I've heard that Omri still uses those scissors with the rounded ends - he's just a young'un ya know! Maybe our logo needs a shot of one of the King's jelly-roll targets on it?!? Ok, I'm gonna take my meds now... Wingnut - get your little voices outta my head please...
  20. You can get hurt with one of those! Put an eye out or something... BTW, I think the Americans used to call their trains "steam iron-horses", didn't they...?

After I landed downwind in a bit of a tumble in the strawberries last spring/summer, the guys told me that I had torn up one Farmer McNasty's $800 strawberry blankets (kind of a weather proof blanket dealy for the plants)... I kinda figured they were just jammin' me...
  22. Oh boy, Jessica - it sounds like you are easily amused! Guys twiddling with micro-processors makes you a hottie??? Maybe I shouldn't have gone to broadcasting college...
  23. Skyhawk, R U sure it's not Oh Kanada?
  24. Sorry to let you down - these days they are mostly of my kids... (at least the ones I'm allowed to publicly mention) I sometimes send shots of me and the neighbourhood to a friend on the other side of the continent (hello there, friend - are you reading this thread???) I even managed to get a shot of me in my rig and still it for a thread back on the old DZ.com - or was that Bigfella...?!? But someday I'll be making those great freefall videos!!!

    Mir Re- Entry

I'm cornering off a spot in the parking lot here at work with some of those red highway cones in case it comes down here! Wouldn't want it to bonk anyone on the head...
