  1. Tee, I am covered, but only because my policy was in effect prior to me starting skydiving. My policy is with Investors Group, but I'd have to dig around in some burried documents to find out who the insurer is... Frank
  2. Well, all you US jumpers should come to Canada for a vacation, because your dollar is rather strong right now! BC is beautiful as always! Victoria, on the southern tip of Vancouver Island (not to be confused with the big city of Vancouver) is the jewel of the Pacific - nobody ever left here not liking this Island! In fact many people that visit come back to live here. A former CEO of Sunkist recently built a 14 million dollar house here! Our dropzone is about 20 minutes north of downtown. It's a small dz, with one or 2 C-182 operating in the busy season. You won't find a more beautiful view from altitude anywhere on the planet! Mountains (Baker, Raineer, and much of the coastal range, plus the Olypmics to boot - I can even see Mt St Helens on a real clear day), ocean in every direction (ya, were on a big island), farmland, and a city of 330,000. Come play with us! Hey, Skydolphin, I heard something about a shotgun incident at or near Kapowsin a while back ... any details??? Frank
  3. Less talk, more ROCK! Just do it, Dirtsucks. I don't know what's holding you back - fear, money, time... but it sounds to me like you WANT to skydive, so get your sorry ass out to the DZ, and jump!!!
  4. Ummm ... I - uh, ohhh, mmmmmm ...oopppsss! It's HARD to concentrate when you gals are getting us boys all h@#ny... don't stop now!!! (of course, you know I mean h@#ny for a jump!)

    FEAR? No Fear!

Ya, Merrick - that's about the same time I became much more "responsible"... plus I put together too many news stories about people killed in car accidents... in Vancouver BC there is a real problem with street racing... in the last few months, 3 innocent people have be killed by people racing each other on the streets around town... it's funny how whuffos often think we skydivers are an "irresponsible bunch of reckless yadayadayada..." - and we are NOT... we take every step possible to minimize the dangers of our sport. I just think that people who tear around our streets in their vehicles ARE reckless and endangering others... BTW, I like Pammi's nudi-pie under the jumpsuit story!!! Frank

    Got it!!!!!!

    Good work, Greg!!! BEER!
  7. Ok - I guess we're not all THAT bad. I really like DZ.com, too. Nice distraction from the rigours of work, and a great place to get tips and advice from the more experienced jumpers... plus a good place to just "chute the shit" with the other jumpers...
  8. Froggie, are you into the sauce again...??? We are nothing but a rag-tag bunch of freedom loving, high flying, beer drinkin', pilot cursin', parachute wearin', money spendin', family ignorin', freefallin', no good for nothin' dirty low down nakie woman (I had to get that in there somewhere) picture lovin', computer usin', camera geekin', skydiving addicts! What's the part you like again, girl???
  9. You know, grassyhopper, I've thinking about that alot lately - I think it's that rush I miss... for about my first 35 or 40 jumps the rush was just about overwhelming... that is the part that stayed with me when I was at work, or anywhere else for that matter... I've got just 77 jumps now, but that rush is not there anymore. It's becoming more "routine". I don't think I would characterize it as fear - more like sensory overload. Don't get me wrong - I still live to jump, and just LOVE this sport - but I know what you mean... that elusive feeling - those incredible few of stepping into the unknown... now it IS known...
  10. Hey, Skydolphin - do you ever get up to Victoria and jump at the Ultimate High Parachute Centre? That's home for me... Frank

  13. You know you're a skydiver when: It's sunny early on a weekend morning, you're lookin' out the window, and your kids say "don't even think about it!"

    CA vs WA

Well unless that last 'quake near Seattle REALLY moved the earth, Mt. Hood should still be in Oregon...
  15. This can be good or bad, depending on how you use the word "screwed"...

    FEAR? No Fear!

Agreed. The important part is not WHAT you are doing - it's that you are doing SOMETHING. But when I am under canopy, looking down on the community below me, I really do think to myself "those poor people down there ... they have no idea..." Frank
