  1. I certainly like to have a meal prior to heading out to the DZ, but once I'm there, I seldom get hungery. Very important to stay hydrated, though - drink lotsa water...
  2. Well, hows' bout "video geek"... can I be on a list for that? Although I don't fly camera (yet), I have one glued to me the rest of the time... when I'm not editing at work, I'm shooting, and editing at home on my PC.
  3. Ya, another non-geekoid here. I'm a Senior ENG (electronic news gathering) Editor in a television news room. We videotape editors put together all the video that goes into the newscast. The computer is certainly one of our tools, but as often as not, they are screwing up. Yesterday is was a printer server (I don't even know what that is, really). Like I say, "we spend hours saving time with computers..." Frank
  4. Could you please repeat that, Froggie...?
  5. Looks like you had a great adventure, Boss... I don't think you missed too much - just us "chuting the shit"... we haven't heard from Carrie for a while - where are you girl?
  6. Ok - I've gotta come clean ... the Beatles are far and away my favorite band. Beyond the classic rock stuff, I also like the Dave Matthews Band, XTC, Vince Gauraldi (he did the Peanuts theme music), Diana Krall (sexy jazz singer), the Fixx, some Joe Jackson, Red Rider... there's more, but I'd have to think too hard - and I did enought of that at work today ... doh!
  7. Zelda, I think the biggest factor is the person conducting the interview... some people will view you with respect, others with disdain, and still others will be ambivalent. While you can choose to sell yourself in any manner you see fit, you have no control over who is across the desk from you. Frank
  8. Careful where you go with this, Creamer... you weren't around when 'Sis posted those hot shots of herself cracking her whip! And no, I'm NOT kidding... I thought the wig was sexy, too, 'Sis! What's next for us boys??? Frank
  9. Ain't that the truth! But then again, they wouldn't be whuffos if the DID get it - they'd be SKYDIVERS!!! Josh, I'm glad you found Sangiro's website... it's been a great place for me (and everyone else here) to keep in touch with the skydiving community when I'd otherwise be stuck in whuffo-land! Frank
  10. Freaksis!!! You go, girl!
  11. Shouldn't use words that start with "master" when you are teasing the boys, Froggie...
  12. No troubles, Skyhawk ... I figured you were out doing something CRAZY, like flinging yerself from a plane...!
  13. TripF, I think your granny glasses are getting fogged up a bit I think all the artists you named fit into the classic rock catagory! (My ears are still ringing from that Stones concert in Detroit back in '82 - or was is '83?) Frank

    My New Toy

You're not using those scissors with the rounded ends still, are you?

Omri, packing is really pretty simple ... after a few lessons you'll be able to do it with ease.
  16. Great story, Larry - welcome back home! Didn't Skyhawk tell you? You owe your new friends here cyber beer!!! Let us know how tomorrow goes! I'm at work this weekend, so I need to hear more good skydiving talk... Frank
  17. Kelly, are ya smokin' fewer of those cancer sticks these days? Frank
  18. I'm no lawyer, but none of us "own" skydiving, so therefore we have no legal jurisdiction over the use of images of the sport. BTW, I haven't seen the ads you are reffering to, Dave, but I find the entire concept dispicable. Live healthy, Skydive safely Frank
  19. Well, Screamer, if you do, then you'll be just the 4th guy here to do so... we're still waiting for Froggie and her friends to impress us, though...
  20. Ya, that sounds about right! Good on ya, Don. Welcome to the club... Now - let's get to work on that B licence!!! Frank
  21. Classic Rock, as I was born in 1961, but I enjoy Jazz (and not that "smooth" jazz shit), Classical after a tough day at work... and of course playing my acoustic guitar. BTW, Tal Bachman's Dad, Randy, was in the Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive. He ROCKS!!! Frank

    Guilt

Jeji, don't give up - YOU ARE A SKYDIVER!!! A good balance between family and skydiving is hard to find - but it can be done - I'm living proof!!! I bet your husband has interests outside the family... you need to have yours, too. How long has it taken you to get this far in your skydiving progression? You've come to far to give it all up. I'm sure you've had this conversation over and over with your hubby, but you need to make him aware that you are an individual, with the dreams and aspirations that come with being an individual. Sounds like you are a very giving person, running a household, raising a young family... you DESERVE to have some time for yourself!!! And you probably already know the statistics, but if you continue with your approach to safety, you will quite likely have many years of safe and fullfilling jumping. Hang in there, Jeji, and please don't give up. You WANT to skydive, therefore you SHOULD skydive! Frank
  23. That is not "beer" - that's "malt liquor"... Miller doesn't make any real beer... not trying to insult you or Miller, but as we have discussed in these threads on previous occasions, real Beer is brewed following the Barvarian Purity Law of 1516. Only ingrediants are hops, barley, yeast, and water. The Miller Brewing Company does NOT adhere to that standard! Frank (loves his "beer" almost as much as the skydive that precedes it)
  24. Hey, everyone, I've really enjoyed reading about your malfunctions... none for me yet, but you've helped me in my preparations. Frank
