Holy imaginations running wild, Batman! "My ice cream is melting..."
  4. Hey, you're singing my song! Anyway, I took up skydiving after being married to my wonderful wife for 14 years. She will NEVER skydive... but she is so great that she just threw the biggest 40th suprise birthday bash you could ever imagine for me -- at the DZ! 2 bands, great mix of skydivers and whuffos... the skydivers are still talkin' about it! Yes, it has been a change from the way things were in our first decade and a bit of marriage -- but people who really love each other will accept change. I even spent or vacation fund on a rig a couple of years back... but the thing is -- I still make time to spend with my family. Our kids hang out at the DZ (my wife doesn't) sometimes, so that gives her some time to do the things she'd like to do without us around... ya really do have to work to make it equitable for both of you, but if you love each other, then it's well worth it... otherwise... CUT HER AWAY!!!
  5. Unfortunately, Chuckie's member broke loose from it's restraint, and took out both 'Sis and Fallen Angel during the dock with 'Sis. Being the hero I am, I whipped out MY ... hook knife, and saved the rest of the formation from further danger... but now, being relieved of his membership, Chuck was floating like a rubber duck in a hot tub...
  6. Over here on the Island, Rob, I think Gary has PFF students complete at least 2 IADs before moving on, but I could be wrong... anyway, I went the GFF way, but did a level 1 PFF when I was having trouble holding a good arch during my 5 second delay. Things moved along quickly after that! Frank

    fall rates

I'm 6'6" and weigh 185 without gear... tall and slender. My arch is poor, but getting a decent fast jumpsuit has realy helped me fall with others. Gotta keep improving the arch for sure!
  8. For reasonably priced jumpsuits of high quality, check out this website: http://www.tads.com.au/ I have one of their RW suits, and I jump with people who have their freefly suits... everyone is quite satisfied!
  9. I'd go for the helmet... let's face it: a Pro-Track is a toy. The helmet is an essential safety device. If I could afford it, I'd wear a Z-1 rather than the Gath... imho ... Frank
  10. Good suggestion, Froggie! I'll do that next time I jump. Also, it's a good idea to devote an entire dive to tracking practice every once in a while. Tracking is something that can always be improved, and we all know how important LOTS of separation with so many fast canopies around these days.

    Hey, TripF ...

    Are ya lurkin'?
  12. Who ... me? Oh ... HI! Did ya get my e?
  13. "I always posted under Freaksister...yes, yessir I sure did." Looks like you posted under me, 'Sis!
  14. CSPA recommends that logbook enteries be certified by a "A" CoP holder or higher who witnessed the jump. A pilot's signature with DoT Licence number is not acceptable for certification purposes. For skill requirements, various levels of coaches and instructors must sign.
  15. Best Wishes, Bossman, and to the rest of you, wherever you may be.
  16. Hi Skyhawk... I'm still the same old Iflyme! Happy Merry to you all!
  17. Anyone using a Gath Helmet with a Pro Dytter? Just wondering how you've attached the Dytter to the Helmet...
  18. Oh shit - Pammi and Merrick, too!!!
  19. Hi guys... It's been a long time since I last posted -- since I even dropped by Dropzone.com. I've just watched the "Concert for New York" on the web, and it really got me thinking about a bunch of you. Since Sept 11th, I, as a television news producer, have probably seen more stories about the terrorist attacks, anthrax, and the war, than the rest of you put together have seen... I really feel the need right now to tell my great American friends out there that I am just sooo damn supportive of you, and I just feel so much for you - and for all you have been thru. I haven't been here for a long time, because a very small group of you have said things that I find very offensive, but for the rest of my good American friends here -- Sangiro, April, Kelly, Giang, Wingy, Grogs, Carrie, Lazerq3, Speedy, Jumpin K, Billy, Jessica, Sharky, Monk, Mark M, (and whoever else I forget to mention now because of all the beers, ) -- I am so fully behind you 100%... I do everything I can to make my television viewers understand what the fu%k is going on in this world... you guys are the BEST!!! My country, and the citizens of Canada -- are right there with you. It may get lost in the shuffle sometimes, but we should not forget: Canada and the USA are best buds. I can see your country from the shores of my island (Vancouver Island), and I am determined to stand by you. My family will make it's donation to the NY fund ... I have very good friends on the east coast -- my friends' sister was to have an appt. in one of the world trade towers at 2pm the afternoon of Sept 11th... Anyway, just wanted to let you guys know that even thought I don't come here anymore, I'm thinking about you very much!!! Hang in there... FRank
  20. And you wonder why So much of the rest of the world hates America. What a stupid egofuckingcentric thing to say... you exploit the rest of the world for your own fucking betterment - including the people of Afghanistan in the 1970s and 80s - and now you want to kill them, even though most of them live in poverty, and their children die of malnutrition. Fuck you asshole. The solution does not lie in killing innocent people. That would make you no better than the people who killed 7000 people on your soil. The soultion is finding the individuals responsible and bring them to justice. You can't do that by starting a world war. 100 people from my country were killed in NY when those towers collapsed, so I share in your anger, but shooting off all your guns will not stop terrorism. Changing your global policies will.
  21. Well, skyhawk, as someone who works in the tv indusrty as a producer/editor, i'd definitely like to see ... boobs! And lots of 'em! Seriously, Ben, I don't think you should have to spend 7 thousand aussie bananas to get an education in the broadcasting industry ... do you have any community colleges nearby with media courses? And what sort of equipment do you plan on making your demo video with? I'll be happy to help you all I can... Frank

    Prayers...

Jessica, I know how you feel ... producing television newscasts, I've been overwhelmed, seeing the horrible images over and over... I hope the sword of justice is sharp and swift. My heart goes out to all of you who have lost loved ones...

Just like the good 'old days! (notice I used "Aussie Speak" when directing a comment at Ben "Yer" ... Normally I'd just say "you're", but those Aussies have a way with the Queen's lingo!)
