  1. 37 plus one video = 38 @ the BC record attempt in Kamloops May Meet 2001 . Very cool to watch from the ground. I think there were one or two that didn't get in... Video produced by John Smith/Aphid Air Designs is here:http://www.skydivekamloops.org/videos/maymeetbigway.rm btw, cool pix Quade!
  2. Spank the Monkey Visit the Palm Sisters Play with your pal pull yer pud jack off (an oldy but a goody) One of my all-time favorites

    Age?

Me? I started jumping when I was 36. Just turned 40 in December -- and yes, it was a BIG party...at the DZ
  4. You guys are SHORT... Nice pix, JumpinK!!!
  5. Thanks, Bill. Your knowledge, and your willingness to share are of great benefit to the rest of us.
  6. Gulp... mmmmmm ... nice
  7. Lookin' good, Zennie!
  8. ANY jump number ending with 3 zeros is BEER
  9. I'm too bloody lazy to read all the rest of the replies right now, but I would guess that most of us actually do make it a point to be good ambassadors for our sport!
  10. Can I be on the cover? Can I? Huh, huh? Can I?
  11. Ok, I wanna know how long it took you to type up your post, Bill. It is a great story!
  12. Do you ever see Carrie? Whatever happened to her... she was fun!
  13. Ya, and say goodbye to your current friends - you are about to get mixed up with a new bunch of people, who you will spend almost EVERY weekend with (unless it rains... then you can take your kids to the pool or skating or something). And look for a cheap apartment near the DZ if you live more than an hours drive away... and make room in your closet for a whole bunch of new t-shirts, and start saving up for all the beer you'll soon be buying... Don't worry, it ain't so bad -- we all did it!
  14. I'll second that... I was on load 2, and landed out, along with some of the other 44 people on that one... I think it was about 18,000 MSL and about 17,000 AGL... it was fun - a little bit crazy, but fun.
  15. Does said bar contain a brass pole and a disco ball?
  16. Thank goodness for helmets! Anyway, I have been sitting here sit flying in my chair, and I realize that I tend to steer with the shoulders, pushing them back or fowards for horizontal control ... will try using pelvis more to see how that works. Good discussion... Ramon, a while ago you posted a progression of skydives to before progressing to the next level of difficulty when learning to freefly head down... It was various steps in transitioning from a sit. I can't seem to access the old S&T files anymore... could you post something similar again?
  17. Sandman, lots of great assists there for anyone else who is in a similar situation -- do we have a skydiving detective lurking?
  18. I enjoy playing chess -- a game with now "luck" involved -- it's all skill and strategdy ... not quite the rush of skydiving, but nevertheless, it's a head game...
  19. Maybe you put too much milk on your cereal this morning...
  20. While I said on another thread that I think PETA is a group of crazies, I just can't see why you would kill a magnificant creature for the fun of it. Yeah, sure, if you need to feed your family...but really -- why do you want to go and kill things?
  21. Sorry, Dave, but that's the biggest load of bullshit there is. IMHO ... You're kidding! Today humas may SEEM to be, but remember -- the dinosaurs were here for waayyyyyy longer that we will be... c'mon dude - every species has a life expectancy - you know -- extinction... and we are vulnerable to MANY organisms on this planet. Do you know what the most common form of communication is on this planet??? Bio-luminescance ... organismas that live deep in the oceans (remember - they cover 70% of this planet) use it to communicate... and chances are you've never even heard of it, or know what sort of creatures use it. To quote the great (well - good anyway) Canadian rock band Trooper, us humans are "here for a good time, not a long time". "Self Awareness" doesn't guarantee our position as "supreme organism" ... it somehow proves our ignorance, though... Ok, I'm only 1/2 drunk... gotta get back to the beer 'fridge
