So how many jumps did you make in 2001? Between kids soccer and baseball games, crappy weather, and camping trips, I managed to squeeze in 55 jumps at my one C-182 dropzone (Ok, sometimes there is a second plane on busy summer weekends when there are lots of students...) How 'bout you?

In the business I work in - television news - very few people expect to get a "great" job fresh outta school. Go to a small town, work for a smaller company, gather some EXPERIENCE, then you'll have something back up your pitch to the bigger companies. And as for "padding" your resume, if you lie to get a job, your starting off on the wrong foot. Will you continue pretending throughout your career?

I'd have to say that I think 4600 is a lot of jumps. Sure, there are people out there who have made more than that, but still, that's a hell of a lot of skydiving

Where I live, everything got covered in ash when she erupted... and I'm in another country! Now that's a "really big show"

I think a premature deployment *could* cause you more trouble than a hard pull. Pull once, pull twice, go for the handles... premature deployment, canopy goes into the video guy/gal above you... or someone else... yuck!

I'm jumping a Dolphin D3 with a 210 main and a 170 reserve... Like most other Dolphin owners, I'm quite satisfied with mine. No frills, smaller bills...

My last beeps go off at 2500... think I'm gonna set it to 2000, though. What's everybody else got their's set at?
-
Hey - I could see that from altitude the other weekend...

NOW yer talkin' crazy! BC Bud - ya gotta love it!

I'm still curious about doing demo type jumps when you have only 100 jumps under a square... At my DZ you need minimum 500 jumps ...
-
Good for you Harro. But you might be a bit more sensitive to the offensive odour produced by drinking too much rye when the gas escapes it's confines of the first load of the day at 7500 feet...

Whatever happened to the second round of DZ.com t-shirts? Wasn't somebody artistic gonna come up with some way cool design and then get a bunch printed up so we could parade around and be recognized?

As my buddy was climbing outta the C-182, his foot slipped in between the step and the wheel, where the brake is... his shoe was stuck. He did the freefly jump wearing just one shoe, then me and the other guy did our jump... but the pilot saw the shoe was jammed in there, and had to call the control tower and warn them that he might be making an emergency landing. They asked what the problem was, and he said " a shoe is stuck in wheel"... tower asks "is it a brake shoe?", and he replies "no, it's a Nike"... end of story is he landed ok, the nike popped out, the pilot grabbed it, and returned it to the owner. Nice landing, Jon!

I wanna be in that club!

124 jumps, no mals, 1 long snivel -- opened just as I was reaching for my handles. From what I've learned, you shouldn'y use anymore than a single wrap on your locking stows. I double wrap the rest...

Did ya bite it back? Grrrrr!

Hey, Will! It seems the Canuck Buck fares well against foreign currency other than the US $... that's why I been ordering gear from suppliers in Oz! 2002 - it's already started - promises to be another great year in my little corner of the planet... I'm working a new shift since the beginning of September, getting off work at 4pm, so that means lots more jumps in the evenings once we set the clocks ahead... yeehaw! My last couple of jumps were great sit flys, so hopefully I'm gonna start learning how to do some transitions real soon! How did ya spend your New Year's Eve? Frank
-
I'm on the West Coast, so I know little about the DZs there, other than: there are many, and some are big! We jump one C-182 most weekends throughout the year here, except the busier weekends in the summer... A bunch of my buddies are in Arizona right now, in Eloy - bastards! Anyway, You might engage Skreamer for a ramble about skydiving in the UK

That's funny ... I told my wife yesterday, after years of thinking about it, that I had finally decided on what night classes Id like to take ... "What?", she asks ... "Sewing" I answer! Yes, I did get a bit of a blank look for a moment before she asked why... trouble is, I might end up wanting to buy a several hundred dollar sewing machine! I hope ya can track down AirFX and resolve your situation.

Join the ranks of the bold, and the free, and fly with us! Those fleeting moments when you are above the earth are very liberating... Certainly you can gather information about skydiving right here on this great website. Watch videos, look at a variety of skydiving photography...Do you live near a dropzone? Maybe you can get your hands on a copy of "The Skydivers Handbook"... it's a great resource... just get ready for a great experience! Frank

I find there is a wonderful, particular odor I recognize whenever I first arrive at the DZ... i'ts good, and familiar fragrance... better than aroma therapy!

Ya, well my 2nd jump today was into ice crystals! But it was only a few degress below freezing, so I ain't complaining...
