I think you are spending too much time in front of you tv ...
-
We call it "ride the slide" ... just step off, lean back a little, and the relative wind on your back will push you right into your sit!
-
*well I'm no expert* ... but some advice that helped me fly in a good sit position was to be aware of the relative wind on your head ... if you are leaning foward too much, and perhaps looking down, you will feel the wind pressure on the front of your head ... and the opposite is true if you are leaning back. Let your back and head find the position where there is equal -- and little pressure on the front and back of your head!

...the days when there were just 3 different forums ... with so many now, I just don't know where to go and spend the few precious minutes I can spare to come here and play! Really, Bossman ... the site is certainly full of great stuff now ... you've done wonders here! I'm off to the freeflyers board now!

Help!Relationships and Skydiving
Iflyme replied to rockgirl's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I think that any relationship where one party "allows" or "doesn't allow" the other party to do partake in enjoyable pastimes is teetering on the brink of mistrust, jealousy, and over-control. That being said, you must work to find an acceptable balance between your life as a skydiver, and the rest of your life. Your loved ones still need you around! I took up skydiving after being married for 14 years ... if I get out to the dz every other weekend, I'm satisfied! It's all about compromise! I still love to take my kids to their soccer games Saturday morning, and try to reserve Sunday for "family time". Good Luck! -
Easy question ... my answer: Boobies!!!
-
I'm satisfied if I can do 50 jumps/year ... most at this little 1 plane dz I jump at! I try to get to one boogie/year, and do 15 jumps there.

We are in desperate need of rain out here... salmon spawning beds in some rivers are still gravel -- driest 6 months from april to october EVER! While it's great for the skydiving, it's rough on the people who's wells are drying up. We even had a forest fire 150 kilometres to the north today!!! This I don't understand. How can a woman not get "the substitute" when she wants it????? Men everywhere believe this is impossible!!!

c-172 (with the door off) c-182 Beech 18 c-206 twin otter king air Fokker F27 Huey (that big one that took 12 of us up in Kamloops) I think there is something else, but without going to my log book, I can't remember...

Tristian is just a big kid ... maybe he could fill the gap left by your son! I bet Tristian doesn't even keep his room tidy!

Getting down to 0c at night ... probably -10c at altitude yesterday ... but it's never too cold to skydive!

the video running on nbc isn't too big a deal...

BSBD... (feeling sad now after a great jump on the weekend...)

Mr Rushdie did a reading at a book store just a few kilometres from me the other day -- sorry I missed it! The more perspectives we get, the better equipped we are to make our decisions about things.

Hey! I used to watch that show on tv in the 70's -- oh ... wait a sec ... sorry, Bill -- I thought you said "Laugh In"

The "Ultimate High Parachute Centre" in Victoria, BC, has, on most days, 1 C-182. Sometimes, in the summer, we have a second one going for students and tandems ... occasionally the C-206 will come over from Pitt Meadows. Today, there were 13 loads manifested for the one C-182 ... fortunately for me, I was on load #3! I doubt they will get all those loads up!!! They did 11 yesterday ... including 4 tandems and students!

Well this is without a doubt the biggest load of bull I've heard in a long time ... terrorists are a part of our world, too -- but we are not about to embrace them! Guns are made for one purpose: killing. Just think how many kids wouldn't be dead, how many murders and other violent crimes wouldn't be committed, if access to guns were restricted. Your culture has a deadly fascination with guns and violence, and as a result, you live in a society with a high crime rate. Why don't you look up some stats, then tell us how many Americans died at the hands of other Americans who were carrying firearms? Then compare those stats to countries where wise legislators have implimented strong gun control measures? Then we will all see the price you pay for embracing guns.

Would you object to paying a yearly $25 fee for using the forums?
Iflyme replied to skymama's topic in The Bonfire
While I enjoy the time I spend here, I am not will to pay for it. I would not, however, deny others the right to pay for it if they were so inclined! -
Hi Carrie! Mine would be: "Give a man a fish, and he will eat a meal... teach a man to fish, and he'll drink beer in his boat all afternoon."

I guess now that the "Sniper" is behind bars, people living around Washington D-C don't have to worry anymore about being shot and killed by a crazed gunman on a murder spree! Now they just have to worry about being shot and killed by a family member, a friend, maybe a co-worker...

Hooie to your hooie!!! Nobody is demeaning the lives lost on 9-11 ... how do you figure that? But think about it... the people of Iraq didn't attack the WTC ... and I agree totally with whoever made the point about Rwanda ... nothing for the US to gain there, so they stayed away. And I'd say N Korea is much more of a threat, with a REAL nuclear weapons program, but they also have a real army, and aren't afraid to use it, so the US is laying low on that one, too. Of course it's all about oil. Why do you think George the first went to help out when Iraq invaded Kuwait? Because he loves the Kuwaiti people? NO -- he loves their resources!

Next anniversairy will be #19 ... I took up skydiving after being married 14 years! It's all good!!!

Beatles! But I'm diggin' Led Zep and Skynard lately, too! As for "new" stuff, I kinda like "Our Lady Peace" these days.
