  1. Touching story, Richard ... I know we will be going through similar feelings for a while. Thanks again for the kind words everyone. It really helps us knowing we are not alone is having so much grief ... Don't know where you are coming from Tonto ... I can only assume you've got issues ...
  2. That is beautiful, Michele ... put a smile on my otherwise sorrowful face ... thanks everyone for the kind words. Right now my 8 year old is writing about the day in her journal ... it will help her grieve. I should go and see how she is making out...
  3. While we talk about boobies a lot here, when it comes right down to it, I can't admire a woman with fakes. But I guess you gotta do what you feel is best.
  4. 15 minutes is about how long it takes me to drive to the dz. Our plane often flys over my house at about 4500', mocking me from far above...
  5. We had our beloved old dog "Jackson" euthanized today at home ... buried him out in the yard in the pouring rain ... difficult time for my wife and I. but particularly hard for my two daughters (8 and 10) ... sad losing an old friend... Jackson was part Sheppard, part Husky. We got him when he was just a tiny pup ... but at 12 years old, his time had come
  6. Just got that on dvd the other week ... what a great movie!
  7. You, sir, are correct! The plane is travelling -- let's say 80 mph -- at exit speed... you accelerate to a speed of -- let's say 120 mph -- in freefall (if you are belly-flying). A change of just 40 mhp ... but the exit speed of the chopper is much slower, so your velocity increases much more when you you are in the air. However, I couldn't classify jumping from a helicopter as "more of a thrill" ... it's all good!!! It's just that helicopter and balloon jumps are rare for most of us...
  8. If I was in a situation where I had that freedom -- you bet I would!!!!! However ... I, unfortunately, am not in such a situation ... But you go, girl!
  9. I have to admit that I am erally digging flying my canopy. Seems that there is just a bit more time to take in the experience, and just enjoy the moment under canopy. I love to clear and pull from altitude, then just fly around! You know you've had an agressive canopy ride when you feel dizzy after landing ! But freefall is awesome, too ...!!
  10. Best place to ski in North America is BC's Whistler/Blackhomb ... it's not THAT far from Colorado/Utah

I'm on 2 weeks vacation ... stop talking 'bout work!!!!!
  12. How 'bout those of us with no religion? I'll still wish everyone "ambiguous seasonal greetings"! Celebrate your own thing, whatever it is!
  13. Well us old geezers should all know it! The weather has been so dry, we are facing water restrictions in early spring. Please -- BRING ON THE RAIN!!!
  14. This is a nasty trick ... no boobies???

    A 3-Front War?

Very sober thinking, Justin. I couldn't agree more.
  16. Mike, while I live far from texas, and I my computer didn't like the attachment, it's good to see ya back on the boards, and I hope you have a great time over the holidays! Frank
  17. Dude, lighten up ... the journalist who wrote the article is NOT an expert in skydiving. The writer is doing their best to interpert a complex situation in an extreme sport that has lots of strange jargon. You, on the other hand, have a much deeper knowledge of the sport. They can fabricate anything they want to about skydiving to sell a story. Wow -- a little anger to deal? Unless you read the National Enquirer, YOU are the one who is wrong. People in the media work very hard to deliver information about what is happening in our communities, our cities, our countries. They make every effort to be accurate, but as I said before, it is impossible to be an expert on every subject.

    Segway

Maybe you kinda missed the whole point. We need to stop driving vehicles that burn fossil fuels. The pollution they cause kills tens of thousands of people each year.
  19. So THAT'S why you are grinning so much!
