New data on child deaths released--How involved are guns really?
Iflyme replied to mnischalke's topic in The Bonfire
Mike, but I support strong anti-gun legislation. IMHO, only law enforcement officials should be permitted to carry firearms. You have your opinion, I have mine. MELT THE GUNS -
Sorry I won't be at the May Meet this year ... but I sure had a blast the past two years!

How many jumpsuits or skydiving outfits do you have?
Iflyme replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I have a Tad's RW suite, and for freeflying, I wear track type sweat pants and a sweat shirt. Of course, it's shorts an tee shirt for those cross country hop 'n pops on hot summer days! -
I've been running ad aware 6 for about a week now ... I had about 130 suspicious items when I did the first deep scan! But yes, I think this includes some spyware. Now I get "vegas gambling" and "someone is spying on you" after firing up the computer.

To quote one of my favorite bands, XTC, "melt the guns"... -
That is what my buddy Tim is jumping ... I think it is 78 or 79 ... Thanks for sharing all the pix, Michele!

I love it! You're never too young to learn about packing!

The parents role is to equip their children with as much knowledge as possible, in preparation for making good choices and decisions out there in the world ... but we, as parents, cannot provide that knowledge without a predisposition ... our beliefs and ideas will influence our children's.

Perhaps, but it contains "information" ... and the reader should gather as much information as possible about any situation in order to be informed, and draq your own conclusions ... If you gather enough information about the American war in Iraq, you begin to see that it is merely a vehicle for reaching a goal -- military and economic domination of the middle-east in the post Soviet Union era. Do a bit of studying about Paul Wolfowitz ... then you will have a better understanding of America's foreign and military policies.

How would you feel about a christian ministry tent at your next boogie?
Iflyme replied to Antithesis's topic in The Bonfire
Just curious ... have you ever been to a dropzone outside America? -
Christian Ministry to Skydivers

Christian Ministry to Skydivers

Well, I'm in Canada -- and it IS a great country! Anyway, I'm glad to see the range of opinions vocied in a respectful manner here ... that shows that while we may not all share the same ideas, we respect each other. That is a dignified approach if you do follow thru on your idea. -
Christian Ministry to Skydivers
Iflyme replied to StevePhelps's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Quite frankly, I think religion belongs in a church, not at a dropzone ... handing out bibles at a boogie? Picture this -- someone handing out skydiving literature at a church! While you have the right to do whatever you think is right, I support freedom from religion. -
Tell a girl skydiver how much she rocks
Iflyme replied to Jessica's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
You KNOW that I think skydiving women are the greatest -- especially the ones on DZ.com!!! I love ya all -
Well put, Hook. I think that waayyyy to many people think they are better thantheir jump numbers would indicate. Currency plays a role, as well. With about 180 jumps over almost 5 years, I am happy to keep jumping a nice big 210 Silhouette loaded at about 1:1 for 400 jumps before downsizing to a 190. I do like to hang on to both my front risers to build up a bit of speed for my little surf, but I have no interest in jumping a smaller canopy to impress other people.

Sorry to hear that, Wingy. That is really shitty. I hope you and your co-workers manage to deal with it ok. Frank

Why does your poll stop at 6'4" ??? I am taller than that by a couple of inches. My dropzone is populated by men of varying heights ...

Billy was there last time, Favaks the past 2 years ... 174fps is a regular ... Tee a couple of years back... I think it starts on Friday, 16 May this year. Wraps up on the Monday, a holiday here . It's a blast!!!

I love Canada 'cause it's the best place on the planet! We've got both Olympic Gold medals in hockey, and I skydive 12 months of the year. I think that is because many Americans (present company excluded, of course) have a egocentric view of the world -- and know very little about what goes on outside their borders. But I personally would NEVER say Canada is like the USA. It's not!!! But let's face it. Our countries are best friends, and should stay that way!

If you had some information about your skydiving experience on your profile, I'd consider responding to you statement.
