I was just answering Rhino's question!

I started sykdiving when I had been married 14 years. My wife is great about it, and my kids, who are 8 and 11 love being at the dz. I guess I'm pretty darn lucky.

Umm ... I don't believe in any "God", so I won't be saying thanks to any "Gods".

Blue Skies, Black Death (Roger Nelson)
Iflyme replied to SkymonkeyONE's topic in Blue Skies - In Memory Of
It would seem the past few days have been black ones for the worldwide skydiving community. I am deeply saddened. My friend is still in hospital, recovering from a terrible lending accident before Easter. He is still not allowed to have visitors other than family and closest friends. Skydiving gives great pleasures, but the price can be very high. BSBD -
You have the responsibility to sort thru all the information that comes your way, then make important decisions for yourself. You can't get hurt listening to someone with fewer jumps than yourself. You can get hurt by making wrong decisions.

***I have recently sent two emails and no answer ( its been almost two weeks on the first and a week on the second.)***I would not rely on e-mail as an infallable system for communicating.

Inspiring article about an inspiring man. And I am honoured that Bill visits with us "skydivers of the WWW" here at DZ.com! (hey -- we should put that on a t-shirt!)

***I'm not saying that I'll jip any other customers, but lets say one guy tipped me $10 yesterday. Now I've got two rigs infront of his and he's trying to make a load. There's a chance his will be done first. /quote]I pack my own rig -- but if I hired a packer, then found out my rig got pushed to the back of the line to accomodate someone else under the circumstances you described, I never hire that packer again. That's really poor business. A customer paying the advertised price should expect and receive prompt service.

incidents/unsafe situations with non freefly friendly gear
Iflyme replied to Monsterchute's topic in Safety and Training
This is not to do with "non freefly freindly gear" specifically ... it's to do with maintaining gear. I had a premature deployment when I was in a stand. Fortunately, I was not injured. As it turns out, the mouth of my BOC was too loose, and my p/c slipped out in the airstream. Needles to say, I had my rigger tighten it up immediately! -
I spend about 10 minutes packing my 210 Silhouette ... could probably do it a bit quicker, but I've never had a good reason to rush. I packed it probably about 150 times or so.

Way to go, Jason! I'm glad to hear that you discovered you DO have the skills necessary to get yourself out of (or should it be "into") a tight spot when you need to! Frank

At what altitude do you go directly to the silver handle.
Iflyme replied to d604's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
No reserve rides yet, so it's hard to predict how I would react, but I would like to think that if I suddenly found myself BELOW 2 grand, I'd go for the silver. But like Wendy and some others have said -- muscle memory. I might go with my training, and pull at my main, or try to cutaway before going for silver... Best plan: Don't go low! -
What is your choice for the best all around container

well I kinda like what Mickey said today when Pete followed his student out at 3 grand ... "I think I'm gonna puke -- I'm gettin' out too". O there I was, all alone in the plane ( except, of course, for our cool pilot) ... man, that c-182 sure climbs fast when all the other fat bastards are out!

I was in one of dem planes today ... smaller, but it still had wings
