  1. I always suggest checking out Upright Citizen's Brigade on a Sunday night when they are doing Asscat 3000, their sketch improv show. There are good nights and bad nights, but even the bad nights are good for a hell of a laugh. http://www.uprightcitizens.org/ http://newyork.ucbtheatre.com/shows/12 Killing threads since 2004.
  2. Excellent. Not sure why I didn't think of just trying it without! Killing threads since 2004.
  3. Is that the San Genaro festival? Can't remember exactly when that one happens. I used to have a favorite sausage vendor during the festival. He was the ONLY one that cooked the sausage over a flame rather than on a griddle. Thankfully he was usually fairly close to one end so I would grab one on the way in, make my way down the length of the festival, turn around and grab another on the way out. Sometimes even grabbed an extra one on the way out for the train ride. You'll have to seek him out if you go back down there. Killing threads since 2004.
  4. Sorry, I wasn't really clear. Is it possible that your company would help you out with coming up with a legit value for the vehicle even though you aren't filing a claim? A slightly different situation, but USAA bank did this for me when I was trying to sell my camper. The other person's bank was coming back with insanely low values on the camper and USAA was willing to go through the process with my trailer as if I was going through them to purchase it to tell me what it would be worth to them. Just a thought. Killing threads since 2004.
  5. In Google Earth... Can anyone tell me how to type the degree symbol if i want to type in a Lat/Long? I'm on a Mac if that matters. I have to use Degrees/Minutes/Seconds as the format for some of the work I do so it's easiest for me to stick to using that format, hence the question. Thanks! jason Killing threads since 2004.
  6. Made a trip up to the Texas City and Alvin areas today to deliver a generator and supplies to a co-worker and was amazed at the selectivity of the damage in that area. I've cleaned up after quite number of both hurricanes and tornadoes and most of the damage I saw reminds me much more of tornado damage. I didn't hear reports of lots of tornadoes for this one though. I went past two areas where there wasn't a house with a whole roof left on it and trees down everywhere but a mile down the road they seemed to scrape by with nothing but some branches on the ground (houses of same quality construction). I did see the most interesting thing I've ever seen after a storm. A fully intact large trampoline with the net cage like thing and all, hanging in a tree 50 to 60 feet up in the air behind a house. I'm kicking myself for not having taken a picture now. Killing threads since 2004.
  7. True 'nuff re: USAA. So Nationwide is your company or the other guy's company? If it's the other guy's company is it possible that your insurance company could help you out? Killing threads since 2004.
  8. What a great trip. I've yet to spend much time on anything but the Guadalupe down between Victoria and San Marcos area. I've got a fantastic kayak for open water (http://www.feathercraft.com/kayaks/traditional/kahuna/index.php but I'm too freakin afraid of taking a tree branch up the butt to take it on any of the rivers around here. I'm really looking forward to getting a hard shell boat but just haven't been able to keep it up at the top of my priority list. Thanks for sharing! Killing threads since 2004.
  9. Our gas prices here in Victoria, TX (between Houston and Corpus on the gulf coast) have stayed the same. A range from about $3.49 to $3.59 around town for regular. Granted, today is the first day everything is unboarded and open for business, so we might still expect some price rise. Haven't seen any lines around town or places without gas. We had a pretty big rush on gas when the storm had us dead center, but damn near every gas station in town had a semi sitting out back waiting to top them off. I guess one of the few good things about living down in oil country is that the refined product doesn't have many travel costs associated with it! Killing threads since 2004.

  11. It's alright, I'll let it slide, so long as they aren't actually playing Alabama. My family damn near disowned me, but I enjoyed attending a few Florida games while living in Gainesville, just so long as they weren't playing Georgia! Killing threads since 2004.
  12. We'll see. The SEC is going to be its own worst enemy this year. Can only assume there will be a few teams to go undefeated in the country, but it will be a pretty hard sell for anyone in the SEC to go undefeated in-conference. Killing threads since 2004.
  13. Saw a bit here and there, but the game did nothing to keep my interest. I could hardly keep still sitting inside to watch the Georgia game after sitting around for the last two days with everything in town closed for the storm. Killing threads since 2004.
  14. Thankfully I was wrong, though I might have preferred to not see this game. Now the SEC starts beating up on themselves. Oy! Killing threads since 2004.
  15. I would say that should seal the deal on OSU not blowing another championship game. Even if a bunch of other teams lose a game or two, a blowout like that is tough to overlook. Killing threads since 2004.
  16. Anyone out there have a connection to ABC that could pass on the word to LOSE the freakin flags "blowing" in the wind that they project behind the announcers when they show them? Either that or hire a new graphic designer. Killing threads since 2004.
  17. So "heelarious" that they'll be laughing all the way to the bank. I can't blame anyone for creating such a thing, just those that buy it! Killing threads since 2004.
  18. This was a favorite elementary school summers. Every day at 12:05 on TBS! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BSzEmPEnYxo Killing threads since 2004.
  19. Well, glad that didn't work out for you! Killing threads since 2004.
  20. It wasn't pretty, but I'll take an ugly win over a loss anyday! They do need to get a few things working a little more smoothly if they want to keep up any kind of championship hopes. Killing threads since 2004.
  21. Sorry bro. I was all for seeing Notre Dame get a win or two under their belt this season, but gotsta be a tough day to be a Michigan fan. It was almost a tough day to be a Georgia fan. Killing threads since 2004.
  22. I'd kind of like to see SC lose just because I'm a Georgia fan, but at the same time I have NOOOO interest in seeing Ohio State in another national championship game. That said, I sure wouldn't mind seeing a 3-peat of SEC vs. Ohio State in the big game. Killing threads since 2004.
  23. Just spoke with my friend that lives in Alvin and runs our preserve at Texas City. In Alvin his A/C unit got blown off it's cement foundation (he didn't know whether it was bolted, just assumed it had been. Maybe not) but no other visible damage at all. In Texas City he was able to confirm that the levy held so there shouldn't be any flood damage but hasn't been able to inspect for wind damage yet. Neither area had power as of a few hours ago. Killing threads since 2004.
  24. 100 miles down the coast on the dry side of the storm we never saw a drop of rain. I saw a report of steady 30-50 mph winds most of the night and I lost power for a few hours but I think that was localized. Anyone in the Alvin area have a report about what it looks like around there? Killing threads since 2004.
  25. I heard the same thing. That's what made me wonder. Killing threads since 2004.
