  1. hehe odd results indeed. Did you research the use of robots.txt to control what/how googlebot indexes your page?
  2. quit braggin' and give us the recipe! (ok, i guess i can google it easily)
  3. I must be secretly skilled then, type my nick in google, and im #2 :D and this yahoo bot (called "slurp") is slurping my site about every 10 minutes .. it accounts for the second most hits on my site, second to spammers... To get many hits, you need people linking to your site. That makes google (and others, i guess) think that you have a really great site :) Also look into the use of "meta tags".
  4. Humans have always wanted to fly. Skydivers doesn't fly, they fall. We don't fly in planes, the plane is flying us. We can't fly, and I don't think it'll happen either. We want to swim in the ocean like fish. Scuba gets us close, freediving even more so, but we still can't move as freely, as deep and for as long as we desire. So, "false"
  5. Go ahead, but if you should feel an urge to find out what would happen if you were to ... well, resist the urge :) now go read "scary stories from the old days". It has been done
  6. Quite elitist attitude from you and several other posters.. They did cover this in my FJC, but didn't put much weight on it. I'd say leaving the hows and whys of aerodynamics out of the FJC does not mean it's a bad FJC. If you know how things are supposed to react, and what you can expect, you'll do fine. WHY it all happens, can be learned later. Remember that too much information can be just as bad as too little... I'd say there's nothing wrong with his question, and it does not neccesarily reflect any lack of knowledge of how to skydive safely.
  7. uhm. I learned that falling out of planes is rather enjoyable..
  8. but but.. I WANT TO BELIEVE! ok, point taken. Now that you mention it, I've actually read a fatalityreport on an incident just like that.
  9. According to another poster here, the plane could get down to 140kts (I have no idea if that is realistic, though).. do you think this would beat you to death if hanging by a rope? My quick forumsearch says propblast on the cessna easily feels like 90 knots, and you don't have any problems with that... So i figure even if you double that, you'll still live, if perhaps not able to hang on - but that's where the rope would come in.. Now I don't know any facts about those airspeeds :) edit: A-train, go try it! I guess we'll read about it in the papers if it turns out one way or the other
  10. If hitting the wing is a problem, perhaps you can anchor a rope in the cockpit, and rapell out. I'd be a bit worried about the engine air-inlet though :) but if you're in the position to do this at all, i guess you could have had the pilot (you?:b) turn off one engine. I have no clue if this would work, but whatever you hit, you can avoid hitting it hard, at least. and for the fbi guys watching: BOMB! PLANE! TERRORIST! .. yea, thats all.
  11. Love my job. I live there, it's far from civilization (as in 2 hour drive to nearest town with >2000 people). I work at a "campschool" and teach schoolkids to climb, kayak and such.
  12. http://www.dusky.sk/halbot/?id=2889 ..and this one aint so bad either: http://www.dusky.sk/halbot/?id=2887 not worksafe if your boss is really boring and humorless.
  13. ..don't know what you think of "blood on the risers".. read/listen here: http://www.west-point.org/greimanj/west_point/songs/bloodontherisers.htm

"AOL recommends upgrading to improve your overall online experience. Download the latest version of Netscape Navigator or Microsoft Internet Explorer." LOL!"#¤ "upgrade to IE/Netscape" ?? I heard rumours AOL were lame. I had noe expected this ;) voted, by the way.
  15. Your trolling has slightly improved since your last thread, but it's still pretty boring...
  16. I'm surprised at how many wants them banned... Anyway, I don't believe we should cencor ourselves because someone MIGHT come here and read something they don't like. I do suggest that condolence-threads be moved to General skydiving discussions, though. Such threads belong in a serious forum, the bonfire is not. Which is the whole point of the bonfire, I believe.

What about the first song, what's the name of that? I liked it.. in a slightly weird way..
  18. Ok, this may not be as interesting as the title suggests, but I did have fun with it for a good 20 minutes.. :) http://www.bubblebox.com/play/sport/124.htm Oh, and .. first try (except all the bounces..), #2 on weekly highscore with the amazing score of 44830 ..
  19. Ok, I think the sickest videos on the internet have been posted already, so let me introduce: DINO-PORN! http://www.pornotube.com/media.php?m=56772&detectflash=false
  20. I'd say you borrow it for a while, let a rigger have a look at it, test-jump it, and then decide. If this is possible, of course.

    Blowing Chunks

This post had me laughing tears.. man.. I can't wait for an opportunity to use this line myself...
  22. First of all, don't listen to me becuase blabla, and talk to your instructors, but you asked my opinion, so here it is: Modifying the equipment you use would in my opinion be more dangerous than jumping it as it is. You may not see any dangers about this modification, and I don't either, but none of us knows that. The current rigs have proven over time to be safe (as far as _I_ know, nobody have died on sport rigs due to falling out on opening-shock), and changing something COULD potentially lead to unforeseen results, which in turn.... etc. I'm not saying sport rigs are PERFECT today, but you are a student, and not in the position to judge this. Neither am I. There are other dangers, very real ones, that you should probably pay attention to rather than this.
  23. I'm glad you enjoy my contributions to your list
