thanks for that link, I read it, and now consider myself considerably wiser on this area :) and thanks to other posters as well!

One thing I came to think about... If you have a both canopies out, I learned at my course to do as little as possible, because of risk of entaglement or downplane... So I figured, if you have some altitude, and the canopies are flying fine, no linetwists etc, how about deliberatly turning them in opposite directions and create a downplane, and then cut away the main? In a downplane I can't imagine that the cut away canopy could entangle with the reserve... Then you would be able to land only one, no risk of downplane at 50 feet, bouncing you.. I wouldn't do this until someone I trust says I should, but.. What do you think? :)

Why does someone NEED to die? Does revenge help at all? In my opinion, nobody NEEDS to die. I'm following the pro-death penalty rethorics here. (I do not support it)
-
Lets say he is proven to be innocent. Then surely, someone must be put on death row for his murder, right? Who should it be? (I'm not asking ChasingBlueSky this, but everyone in favor of the death penalty)

I'd say you're too paranoid :) The responsibility is with the rigger. And I don't see what the tools could do to the rig to do any damage that the rigger wouldn't notice. Then again, I'm no rigger. I'm not american either, I don't know what people will sue who for over there, but this sounds a bit too extreme :)

funny how easily a whuffo could say that about skydiving in general...
-
how about using it for groundlaunching? :)

nice vid! Your 100-jump-fuckupedness inspires me. I'm there shortly, and I wont be any better at the sit. I can exit, get into a sit and keep it for 2 seconds, then i tumble around the rest of the jump, unable to get stable enough on my back for a proper second attempt. yeh. :)
-
yea, i noticed that, but still.. the PG fucking up somehow over some turbulence? sounds odd to me :) I don't think you can cut them away.. I've seen vids of a couple of PG reserve rides, and cutting away was never done nor mentioned
-
well, I don't know the first thing about paragliding, so... what happened? He was flying fine, and then suddenly he's spiraling, and had to deploy reserve.. got any paragliders here who could tell me about this?

how about a new twist of beer precision landing? Throw a case of beer out of a plane, let the cypres open a round for it and try to hit on target :)

missed one. the worm in the eye. that is one disgusting pic, specially knowing its not fake.. :)

some very very strange and disturbed guys might do that when they are bored. That is IT! My ears are bleeding. Watched one third of it, then the rest of the posts, and gathered that being gay is all they do in the vid.. :) The one with the fat guy miming is really cool though. Except for the pictures someone mixed in, they kind of ruined it. Oh well. I _may_ be sounding overly negative here. But that was crap. What guys does when they are bored, is throwing burning sheep from antennas. We came to that conclusion in another recent thread...
-
funny, yeah, but i needed to play some In Flames really loud to get that melody out of my head...
-
hum. got a link with info in english about that? :)
-
hehe yes... I'm sure there's other fun things to do with sheep. Rocket engines and homemade parachutes comes to mind....
-
hm. so my new hobby is "throwing burning sheep off antennas" ? :)
-
i dont feel quite ready yet, huh huh. Well, groundlaunching is one option, if one has spots nearby.. :)

i grew up with climbing rocks. Got no walls to speak of around here, so it stayed with rocks only, no equipment (until i moved). never hurt myself. That, my friend, is pure luck. :)
-
*sigh*..should've known better than including that part ;)
-
well, I am bored. And alone, at the moment. What is there to do for fun? Part of the point here is suggesting things that doesnt need equipment (or at least not much). "Reading a book" and any such, is out of the question (see the subject). Was just out, climbed whatever I found (I'm blessed to live in a tiny place, and at night nobody's out, so nobody will ask questions if they see me climbing around in antennas/trees/houses/sheep).

thats what "news" is generally like in america? its simply sickening. They turn some persons misery into some kind of show... (not to mention all the things said that are simply wrong)

scubadiving is skydivings little brother, I think. I started scubadiving when I was 15, had been dreaming about it for a while. Now I'm a divemaster (anyone who wants to hire a hardworkin norwegian divemaster, anywhere in the world btw? PM :b ) ... Then I moved on to climbing, and then to skydiving, which is where on the ladder I am right now. Skydivings big bro is basejumping I guess. Anyway, I know more climbing skydivers than scubadiving skydivers.

i've only had earproblems once. i had a cold, but there was a boogie i really wanted to go to. so i went. First jump my right ear hurted so bad i thought the eardrum would burst, when i was back on the ground. So on the second load i went off at 5000, then it only hurt quite bad. :) next day my ears didnt hurt so much, but my sinuses (thats the right name?) did. On each jump my goggles was covered with goo from my nose. on the 4th jump, the goo was 50/50 blood and goo. Then I decided to take a break. at least until the next day... came blood out of my nose for a week after that. fun :)
