  1. I thought you were joking, until I read the article.. it doesn't even seem to be bogus. I don't know wether to laugh or cry...
  2. I use textpad. (add .com to that if you're interested)
  3. Where is that? If I like it, I'll probably go for the advanced stuff, but I'm not even sure if I'll like it yet (though I think I will!). And the night stuff sounds really cool... This d is my one recommendation to all people who SCUBA, if you plan on doing it as a Hobby PLEASE get certified to at LEAST Advanced divers cert. PREFERABLY to Rescue Diver Cert. PADI courses are not what they once were Amen to that Rescue isnt just for the people you dive with it's for you as well! P= put A=another D=dollar I=in hehe. I usually call it PAy and DIe. About night diving (etc etc)... PADI will tell you that you need to take this course and that course and pay 15 skydives worth of $$$ for it. If you're made of money, fine, but a better way both moneywise and for your own learning is to find someone experienced who you trust, and simply go dive with them. Shotgun: yes, freediving is also known as breath-hold diving. I've mostly quit scuba after i started with it. It is far more rewarding, I think.
  4. Take it slow, don't hold your breath. Sums up most of it.
  5. We could all be vegetarians of course, if that's what you mean, why don't you just say so? Norwegian speaking, and moosehunting season is holier than christmas around here. Happy trollin' btw, and better luck next time

  7. Blacklisted? What does this mean? The whitehouse staff will no longer purchase their CDs? Try reading my second post. For what it's worth, it means this record company will not recieve any state cultural funding. But the more important part, I'd say, is the impact of having the government work against you. Now, dorbie, to the point, since you clearly missed it: The Bush administration takes the time to work against a record company for releasing a CD, simply because it is critical to their war. Don't you have a problem with that? I certainly hope they don't receive any "state cultural funding". Even if other companies like them does recieve such funding? By officially blacklisting them. You are evading the point as well. Do you or do you not have a problem with the government interfering like this? This CD, promoting peace, is obviosuly seen as some sort of threat. You don't think this "blacklisting" means anything at all, is that it? Perhaps you think random blacklisting of music is common, and should be accepted?
  8. CPU is only one of several things that determines performance. In this case, the bottleneck is probably your harddisk.

  10. There isn't much in the various articles I read on it, I basically wrote all there was, except... Well, it is written quite vague in the article as well, but this company is on a list that "the bush administration will not cooperate with". I guess my point is that they are actually taking the time to do this with a cd containing lullabies. Yes, why would anyone have a problem with that? some background... http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A62937-2004Oct25?language=printer http://www.theage.com.au/news/Music/Quiet-voices-of-reason-put-peace-on-track/2005/01/28/1106415746461.html or google.
  11. New York-based Valley Entertainment has been blacklisted by the Bush administration for distributing a CD titled "Lullabies from the axis of evil". On this CD, women from Iran, Iraq, Palestina, Syria, Afghanistan, North-Korea and Cuba sings lullabies in duet with western artists. The only reference I could find on it is in norwegian, for those who are compatible... http://www.nrk.no/nyheter/kultur/1.1963936 So... What on earth is the deal with THAT??
  12. yeh.. was supposed to go back to work by march 1. figured out yesterday that i better hurry up.. (getting back to work for me involves a lot of packing and 18 hours of traveling)
  13. The shallow champagne glass originated with Marie Antoinette, from wax molds made of her breasts.
  14. I like NixOS best, which is an OS I made myself. At least if you have a slack definition of what an OS is. I mostly USE windows though, out of lazyness. When vista is mainstream, I'll go linux. Or maybe even sooner. I'm not spending any money on the computer upgrade that would be needed for vista. You get quite a few jumps for the price of a computer!
  15. I dropped out after 1 year of IT studies, and now have the best job in the world Climbing and sea kayaking (and more) makes my living. ... I guess I'll get back to the university eventually, though.
  16. what on earth are you doing at 90 ft in 1 ft visibility water?? As for the thread starter, padi divemaster speaking here as well (even if that's hardly worth the paper it's written on), I don't think that idea is of much use. sorry. :) Diving can still be fun though. But lose the tanks, go freediving.

  20. Is that the only reason for an opening as hard as that one seems to have been? I don't quite understand how that alone could do that. He's barely stood up before the slider is all the way down! I've heard of linedump etc that could cause extremely hard openings, but that doesn't seem to be the case here though.
  21. Very nice! I kind of like student pictures, they tend to capture .. how to put it.. the spirit of skydiving. When the pros do their thing, it's impressive and all, but it's nothing you havent seen done a few thousand times before ;) They make it look too easy! in a way.
  22. Well. I voted for 'extreme' on the poll, so we do agree. I just don't think it's the "you HAVE to pull" part that makes it so. It plays a role, though. As I said, I dislike the term itself, since it's mostly just used by wannabes and people trying to sell you stuff.
  23. Every time you're driving fast with your car, and you approach a turn in the road, you have to turn that steering-wheel. Or you'll die. Damn, driving a car is really extreme. Precisely, driving you can choose to drive fast or not. Skydiving you have no choice, it's always 100%. But you choose to every time you're on the freeway.. Is that extreme?
