I have mine like this and I agree most of the time they don't check. Something to be aware of, though, is I have been somewhere (my post office - not sure if it's a general rule or just that specific one) that will not accept credit cards that are not signed (not even if it says "see ID" and I give them a valid ID). But they will take my debit card that says the same thing.....go figure! If you read the fine print on your credit card, it reads something to the effect of " Not Valid Unless Signed " Technically, writing "See ID" or the like invalidates your credit card.

Is this going to affect her moderating ability??? Without skymama, we'd have chaos in the forums. DZ.com could quickly degenerate into anarchy without her.
-
This wouldnt have happened if she had come here to colorado where we got 11" of soft snow last night to cushion her fall

I bought my Ford Ranger brand new in 1998 with 8 miles on it. In that time, I have put 141,000 miles on it and it has been everywhere from Key West Florida to Seattle to LA to Burlington, VT. The biggest problem I have had so far with it is the damn "door ajar" light won't go off. This is a very common problem with ford rangers and seeing as how it is the worst problem I have encountered, I am pretty happy with it. It will be a very sad day when I have to give that truck up. It has been through a lot with me.

On skis, your foot and leg can rotate with the ski independent of your body. On a snowboard when the board rotates, it takes your whole body with it. This is why it hurts more to fall but you are less prone to twisting injuries of the knee and ankle.
-
If you are going to start out snowboarding, I would highly reccomend investing in wrist guards. I have known quite a few people who broke their wrists in their first few days snowboarding by trying to catch themselves with their hands when they fell. Aside from the wrist issue, I think that snowboarding is safer. You do not open yourself to the multitude of knee injuries on a snowboard that you are prone to on skis. Although snowboarding generally hurts more the first day, the learning curve does seem to be steeper. I have seen many people who are fairly competant snowboarders by their second or third day. I can't say the same for skiing.

What kind of mother doesn't notice the largest meth production lab in the state going on in her garage??

Drinking and shooting with Hunter S. Thompson.

Ohh. I like that one. I am going to have to use it. They would never figure that out. Of course I would be the one that gets called on to figure it out and fix it.

...I think your sig line says it all RIP Hunter S.

LMAO - a skydiver saying ice climbing doesn't look safe Top roped ice climbing is almost as safe as top roped rock climbing (falling ice and swinging around ice tools near ropes makes it a little more dangerous). I used to lead trips where we took middle and high school students top rope ice climbing. We never had any major incidents aside from a few minor cases or hypothermia. You think a classroom full of middle school kids is scary? Try strapping cranpons to their feet and putting ice tools in their hands Leading ice? Now that's a different story.... I have never been very comfortable leading on ice. There are a lot of variables within the ice itself and I really have a hard time trusting ice screws. I have several friends that have broken legs and ankles leading on ice. But I guess that isn't any different than skydiving?
-
Wow, that's really cool. I was wondering where there would be good ice climbing in Iowa when I read that.

Same thing with me. I tried to keep my gmail account address only to my friends. Somehow gmail is letting the spammers get their addresses.
