What kind of bullshit is that?? I am supposing they also didn't bother to link the thread where you matched $1000 in donations for tusnami relief.. That really sucks. Just goes to show, there are people in this world who can never be trusted.

No pictures from that However I did wake up with a bad hangover, a big scrape on my forehead, and an earfull of water. Then Girlfalldown sees me in the bent prop at breakfast and says she didn't recognize me with my clothes on Between my cutaway in the morning and that party it was a hell of a day!

And I have a few pictures of TallGuy throwing Bgill into the pool....

Yup. He is actually a fairly hardcore weightlifter and he quit lifting while he was doing the no carb thing. He said that he just didn't have the energy to do anything for the first week. I have never gone on this diet myself, but from what I have been told, once you body gets used to the fact that it is not getting a whole lot of carbs, it adapts itself to get energy from burning fats and you get your energy back.

I have seen many people have lots of success with the Atkins / south beach type low carb diets. My roommate lost 15 lbs in two weeks that way!

How did you get into skydiving?
davedlg replied to sparknote_s's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Me too... I kept losing gutter awareness – so they kicked me out of the alley and told me to try skydiving instead. My bowling instructor gave me the "maybe you should take up skydiving" speech -
Man, between the gestures, sound effects and sarcasm, I haven't laughed that hard in a long time!! My favorite: YAAAAAYYYYY!!! I'm DEAD!!!!!!

Hey Dre, yeah, in FJC we were taught to cutaway with two hands on each handle. I believe we were taught this both to prevent out of sequence cutaways and to assure we could generate enough force to activate the handles. I have since consciously decided to change my muscle memory to one hand on each handle prior to cutting away. I did this because I felt that I was more likely to have a hard time locating the reserve handle after a cutaway (and grab the lift webbing or something) then pull the handles out of sequence. Like Mar said, this is how I practice my EP's, so I was comfortable doing it that way. I'm sure others will have more to say about this but personally, this is what I feel comfortable doing.

Depends on how much it snows in the coming weeks! Lots of snow means I'll be skiing. No snow means skydiving. Right now, it's looking good for skiing.

The "Offending Site" Had 45 free kegs on tap, thus I offered to defer my beer to a more useful time and place!

The spin wasn't so fast that I was losing tons of altitude, in fact I was able counter it with the rear risers. I had pleanty of time to think about it and make decisions. Since there were multiple people ther from my home DZ, I am buying beer upon my return there.

Well, I had my first cutaway on Saturday at the Eloy boogie! Jan 1st, Jump Number 37: After a 2-way with Cara, I pull at 3500' and my spectre does it's usual long snivel thing. As it inflates, I notice that the opening seems to be twisting me around a bit more than normal. Once it is fully inflated, I am in a moderate spin. I immediately look up at the canopy and it looks good and square. Next, I look at the brakes. The left brake is properly stowed as it should be, however the right brake line is all tangled up around the risers. I guess it came unstowed on opening. I try to get the right brake line untangled, however there is a lot of tension in the line. I look down at my altimiter...2300 feet. Still spinning, I work on the brake line a bit longer, check alt...I'm almost at my hard deck of 2000'now. Shit...can I land this? Maybe, but I definitely don't want to try it. One voice in my head is saying, "If I only had a little more time, I might be able to get this brake line fixed". Another voice is saying, "nope, you know better than that...hard deck is hard deck...time to cutaway." I look down at my handles then back up at the mess in the brake line then down at my handles again. I can't believe I am actually going to pull them like I have practiced so many times. One hand on each handle...pull red, pull silver. About that time I remember thinking "I hope this reserve works!" I look up to see a nice yellow reserve canopy. Wow...that opened fast. My next thought is "crap, I dropped my handles!" I look down to discover that I am still holding them both in my hands. I tuck my handles into my shirt. I turn to see my main streamering towards the ground, right next to the freebag. I realize I won't make it back to the dropzone, so I find a nice open looking area in the desert and choose to land there. I turned and made a tiptoe landing on the reserve. Nice. I haven't even started gathering my lines when Bryan comes rolling up in the van. What a way to start the new year! Edited for spelling

WOW what a fun time. LOTS of firsts for me: First time at Eloy First major Boogie First Skyvan Jump First 4-way First 5-Way First Horny Gorilla Exit and the big one: First Cutaway!! I arrived in Arizona on Wednesday night in the rain and left this morning in the rain, but didn't see a drop of rain the entire time at the DZ. Guess I timed that right. I met a whole lot of new people and returned home with some great memories...some pictures to follow when I get home. I got 10 jumps over 4 days...would have been much more if not for the cutaway. Being back at work sucks.

Lesson learned. Fortunately at no cost but my time. I looked around at several sites for ratings on this site before I purchased and didnt see anything too bad... Guess I need to do more research next time.

I've been in the market for a Sony DCR-HC30 Camcorder for awhile now and I found one online at A&M Photo world for $369 ...about $100 cheaper then I have found it elsewhere. I ordered it and got an email to call them for confirmation. When I called, they proceded to try to sell me the "charger and battery" upgrade for an additional $110. It turns out that they sell the camcorders only without everything else that Sony ships with it. They lure you into buying them with a low price, only to try and sell you everything else that comes with the camcorder as an upgrade back to the standard retail price Nowhere on their website does it say that the camcorder price as quoted does not include these items. Needless to say I canceled my order

I think that a person can defiantly be in love without reciprocation. I have seen it happen over and over again with my friends. I think it's actually more common than two people being in love with each other. It will never end well

Just a thought: If a skydiver you knew went in doing something crazy, what would your attitude be? Would you be: saying "damn that was awesome!" or mourning your friend?

That's Greg Gasson. Check out the Good Stuff DVD if you want to see more of it.
