Awesome. I say go for it! However, should you decide against pursuing it, feel free to give me her phone number...presuming it begins with 303 or 720

I just lured the best person ever into the sport
davedlg replied to Vallerina's topic in The Bonfire
Nice! My roommate is a brewmaster. Very good stuff. I love coming home to a different keg of beer on tap every week. Makes for some great parties too. -
You also earn the jetpack by completeing all of the airstrip missions. This is after you leave San Fierro and do all the CIA missions, but before you head out to Las Venturas.

Although it's a longer drive to sebastian (approx 2 hours) , I have found that Fort Lauderdale (FLL) is often by far the cheapest airport to fly into in that area. Palm Beach is always expensive. Sometimes Orlando (MCO) is the same price, but often Fort Lauderdale is dirt cheap...at least coming from Denver.

How far have you come since your 1st post?
davedlg replied to AggieDave's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My first jumps were two tandems made in the spring of 2001 in Sebastian. At that time, I knew skydiving was something that I really wanted to get into, but being the broke college student I was at the time, I had no possible way of financing it. It took over three years for me to go get back in the air again. My third jump was an AFF jump on July, 25th 2004. I passed AFF on September 4th. I got my A license last Saturday. 2004 has been an outstanding year for me. In rafting, my other favorite sport, I spent 33 days on 13 different rivers in 6 states and racked up over 500 river miles inluding several new Class 5 sections. I got about 30 ski-days in last season. I won $300 at the blackjack tables in Vegas. I got to do some awesome SCUBA wreck dives off Key Largo, Florida. I climbed some great mountains here in Colorado. And I'm going to Eloy for new years! In the next year, skydiving will no doubt play a significant role in my life. My goals are to buy a rig, to get over 100 jumps, to continue learning my RW skills, and to lean some basic freeflying skills. Other goals are to make at least one trip to outside the country, spend at least 30 days on the river again, and get back into rock climbing. We'll see what this new year brings! -
I was just looking at buying one of these for my dad (a pilot) for his car for christmas. I found them for $95 here Since you're local, I also saw used altimiters several years ago at a little store inside the terminal at centennial airport, I haven't been there in a while, but if you are in the area it might be worth checking out.

USC is gonna learn why life is hard in the Big 12!
davedlg replied to AggieDave's topic in The Bonfire
I was surprised and delighted to see my team (CU) go to the Big 12 championship this year. Of course, I was horrified by their ass kicking at the hands of OU. I gotta give it to OU. I haven't seen many college teams that can consistantly deliver the way they do. -
I got back onto a snowboard today for the first time in a long while. Good news is I still remember how to snowboard...bad news is I 'warmed up' on a rocky black tree run. OUCH...It's only been a few hours and I am already really sore! I just know the first time I move a muscle when I get up tommorow morning it's not going to be pretty.

There is one on top of the fake capitol records building in Los Santos. There is also one on top of the fake transamerica building in San Fierro. There is no arrow to get into this building, just an open door. One on top of the Green Emerald Casion in Las Venturas, but you can only get there by landing on the roof with the helicpoter, parachute, or other flying device. There's One on top of Mount Chilliad in the southwest corner of the map. There's one on top of the mountain overlooking the lake and the dam in the desert. You automatically get one whenever you get into an airplane or helicopter.

Also, there are a lot of pop-ups out there that will tell you you have a virus, adware, system error, or other undesirable condition. The pop ups will try to get you to download their "repair" program which is usually either an unwanted program in itself, or a commercial product which you have to pay for. Whenever you get these kind of messages, always check the source...if it is an Internet Explorer window, you are almost definatly looking at a pop-up posing as a system message.

There are a lot of lyrics archives out there that automatically try to get you to download software. you will often get some kind of message that asks if you want to download and install some kind of required software when you follow the link. Sometimes it will say the software is required ti view the site...NEVER click "yes". If your security settings are not set high enough, your IE may automatically download and run the software which will invariably be some kind of adware / spyware.

I really enjoyed this movie, however I have also heard it compared to Punch Drunk Love, which I really did not like. You definatly have to get into the story and have some patience to enjoy Eternal Sunshine... I personally think it is one of the best love stories that I have seen in a long time. If you are coming into this movie expecting a typical Jim Carrey movie, you will not like it. Edited to add: There are a few good threads on this movie here and here These threads are a good example of how thought provoking this movie can be. Don't read too far into them if you don't want to read spoilers though.

Indoor ice climbing...awesome! I have always wondered when someone would put one of those together. Next time I happen to be in Scotland I'll have to stop by!

Helmets are like AAD's...you dont need one to ski and people have skied successfully and survived for years without one. BUT if the time comes that it will save your life, you will be glad you made that investment. Personally, I bought one several years ago when I started racing and I have worn it ever since. In fact, on the first run of the first day I had the helmet I took the hardest wreck I have ever taken skiing and I was glad I had it on when my head hit packed snow at 40 MPH. Another bonus: they keep your head, and thus your whole body warm.

In my opinion, in a ski or snowboard system, the boot is the most crucial element to your performance on the slopes. The most important thing when choosing a ski or snowboard boot is to take your time, try on lots of boots and buy the one that fits the best. Getting lots of suggestions is great, but everyone's foot is shaped differently. Dont just go out and buy whatever seems to be the most popular boot at the time. Every hour you spend trying on different boots will be worth it when you are on the mountain with a really comfortable boot instead of something you just rushed out and bought. I have a lot of friends who did just that and spent many miserable runs slowly breaking their boots in. The other thing I would reccomend is custom insoles. Yes, they are fairly pricey, but they are worth every penny. I got several pair of custom insoles several years ago, and it truely makes you a better rider.

4 days? You're lucky. I have only managed to get up once so far. (It would have been twice more last weekend if I hadn't been sick) Oh well, that first bludbird champagne powder day at Vail should fix everything
-
First of all are your flow bindings step in or strapped bindings? If they are strapped bindings, you should be able to fit almost any boot. If they are step in, you have limited your binding choice significantly. I have airwalk boots and I love them. They are very warm and comfortable and ride great!
