  1. It's True!!! There is a tunnel being built in Colorado. I was in the area for work this afternoon and I snapped these pictures. I even heard they were on schedule to be open by the end of the year.
  2. What? Is that AVgas or Jet A? I assume you aren't talking about Unleaded?
  3. I paid $2.49 to top off last night. Drove by the same station today and it's $2.89.
  4. I agree that development should not have been allowed where it was. In Colorado and throughout the west, development is never allowed within a 100-year floodplain. I think the chances of this happening in a 100-year period is pretty good, so the entire city would be consdered a floodplain. If the development was already there, money should have been spent upfront to protect the development before this happened. This scenario is no surprise, "they" have been saying for years this is what would happen if a major hurricane were to hit New Orleans. There are a number of things they could have done to prepare for this including strengthinging existing levees and building a number of additional levees to compartmentalize the city in the event that one levee breaks. A few levee breaches flooding the entire town is unacceptable. Sure, it would have cost a lot...billions, but wouldn't that be preferable to what is happening now?
  5. Not sure who designated all of these 'official' holidays, but I found a more complete list here
  6. oohhh! SHINY THINGS! Sounds like fun. How long a drive from Denver are we talking here? 8 hours?? 10 hours?? Any idea? edited to add: Answered my own question...600 miles, 8.5 hours.
  7. Sounds like a combination of shy/waiting for the right moment to me. Why not set up the "perfect moment" and find out?
  8. Knowing the Hualapai tribe and their business practices, I would not be surprised to see them make BASE jumping Legal off their platform....for a price. They own all of the land on that side of the river, so there would be no NPS legal restrictions, provided you didnt somehow cross the river. If I were a BASE jumper I might be contacting the Hualapai about this one. The Hualapai run the most popular takeout road for raft trips down the Grand Canyon. They charge an unbelieveably high price (like $100/person!!) for driving the road (and it's not a good road) out of the canyon. It is still the most popular takeout however, as the other takeout is several days later after rowing across Lake Mead.
  9. Let's see YOU not get antsy waiting for what is not just your first custom rig, but your first rig at all :D and while you're doing that, try not to think about your first non-local boogie! Wow that's a lot of "firsts" there. You better bring a lot of beer to Eloy
  10. Wynn Las Vegas, Salon Suite $750-$1050 / night What, did you win the Lottery??

I went at like 2:00am once. I was really surprised at how many people were actually there that late.
  15. Well, I heard a rumor that you might be coming to Denver after that? Any truth to that? Of course, you've got a ride to Denver if that's the case.
  16. Survey says.... Freeflir29 (but only by a hair)
  17. I assume this is the infamous Scott Lutz Video.... If you look closely the student pulled the cutaway handle just as the instructor was pulling for him. There's a lot of discussion on this site about this video, just do a search for "Lutz"
  18. Mine... From the my days working as a commercial raft guide. These people became my best friends in the world... I will never forget those summer days.
  19. I lived there for 5 years and went to school there. I enjoyed my time there. It is a beautiful place with a lot of fun stuff to do (and 15 mins from a DZ!). That said, I think that the culture of Boulder is changing. Some of the more recent decisions made by the city are changing the socioeconomic makeup of the town. Housing prices are through the roof. Boulder has slowly been changing from a cool little hippy college town into a place full of rich wannabe hippies and trust fund baby college kids. Don't get me wrong, I love Boulder and there are still a lot of cool people there, (in fact I just got back from hanging out at a bar in Boulder) but I would definatly not want to live there again. Red Rocks is awesome. I live 10 mins from there and love hearing the shows from my backyard. Every show I have been there has been an amazing experience. A few weeks ago, I watched The Princess Bride there for movie night...it was great fun!
  20. Oh cool, I have been looking for a good site to host all of my of spyware programs. How much do you charge per spyware infection?
  21. For me I am comfortable in a few weeks or so, depending on how fast the relationship starts up. Secure really depends on the past. In my first few serious realtionships, I was secure in a month or so. These days (after having been hurt a few times) it's more like 6+ months.
