  1. If it was your first jump out of a caravan, your ratio should read : 0:4:1, the one being the case of beer you owe for your first caravan jump!! Glad everything worked out ok! Anne
  2. WARNING! I have been advised never to daisy chain in the main landing area. Only when landing out. There have been several instances of people in the midst of daisy chaining (thus having thier hands in the lines) having their hands torn up when another jumper landing accidently snags a bit of thier canopy or lines and pulls everything tight.
  3. Don, Are you admitting which birthday number this is?? Anyway, hope you had a great b-day!
  4. Your weekend sounds awesome, congrats on 400!! We had rain all day saturday (okay, just most of the day) and were an a wind hold for most of the day today. I think we flew three loads today. Sad! No jumps for me! Blue skies, Anne
  5. Hey Slap, Sorry about your Astros. Too bad they got SPANKED! Couldn't have happend to a nice team!!! (Go Cards) Blue skies and a relaxing offseason, Anne
  6. I am guessing that there was an incident? Anyway, you are right, and it never hurts to remind ourselves of all of the things we need to do to keep ourselves and others safe!
  7. I second/third the advice here. DO NOT JUMP IF YOU ARE AT ALL CONGESTED. I did last October and ruptured both ear drums and blewout my inner left ear. I experienced vertigo for about 48 hours (it is only fun for the first three minutes, then it SUCKS!!!!) Thankfully staying out of the sky for a couple months was all it took to heal. I am very careful about jumping with congestion, cua I may not be so lucky next time! Blue skies, Anne
  8. Where the heck are you gonna be instead of the DZ? You are not allowed to have a life outside of Archway. J/k. Are you gonna get to jump on Sat?
  9. Hey Joe! Happy Birthday! Hopefully I will get to make a b-day jump with you on Sunday!!! Have a great day! Anne
  10. dude, I am way too drunk and my dictionalry is way too far away for a post like that!!!
  11. "As for the bit about women making less than men, that's not true. When you compare apples to apples, the make the same." Don't know where you are getting your facts, but they are not trur. When comparing two people of equal education and experience, the male will make more tham the female EVERY TIME!!! "Add to that the fact that many women choose lower paying fields such as elementary school teacher compared to men who go into investment banking or engineering and it further distorts the results" THe salary comparisons are not of female elementary teacher to male investment bankers. Some women "choose" lower paying careers because they grow tired of trying to break into the Good Ole Boys Club. BTW Men are elementary school teachers (and damn good ones) and women are investment bankers (and damn good ones) Your oversimplification of the situation tells me with no doubts that the are a white male. If you have never been a minority, you CANNOT know what it is like.

  13. When was the last time you used the word "usurped" in a sentence? I am such a dork!!!
  14. Since every Halloween celebration I have heard about so far is on the Saturday before the 31st, I guess I'll be a birthday girl. I hate when my birthday is usurped by Halloween!
  15. I like the word "muppet." It is particularly funny after 37 parent-teacher conferences and five beers.

    Rig Pics

Sweet Rig!!! I especially like the cutaway color. No way you could miss that!!!! Blue Skies, Anne
  17. "And I thought it was bad news when a girl told me she listened to country music... " Now you are just being mean! What is wrong with country music????
  18. first things first, how do you count points on that dive? Is it all one point or.... never mind....
  19. I think it is 50....
  20. the good news is that you dodn't leave the plane with only one of those rig-looking backpacks on!! would have sucked at deployment altitude, huh??
  21. No, no ,no, no, no. First thought: "Where's my rig?" Second thought: "Where are my clothes?" Third thought: "Can I make the next load?" Fourth thought (if you stick around that long): "Who the hell is that sleeping next to me????"
  22. Hey Marc, Unfortunately, packing for a bit of snivel is one of those things that if you ask 80 people, you will get 80 different and conflicting ideas. Who owned the canopy before ? I find Gentry to be the best source of info since he owned by Sabre before me. The only other real advice is to ask tons of people and try different things. Eric jumps a Tri, similarly loaded. I find that I can have one or the other- on-heading, or nice and soft. I am experimenting with different rollings and tuckings. Keep trying!
  23. I totally did NOT see that coming!!! Of all the dumb luck! I am glad you are not giving up yet!
  24. I actually think that where Chris jumps is two handle from the get-go, so he could have disconnected. And Chris, Jim can be a bit intimidating, can't he?? Sounds like you did great!! You found yourself in a bad situation and kept your head until you cleared it! Way to go!
  25. I love solo jumps now. My first jump was a tandem and I spent the whole ride looking around and enjoying the view. Then I went thru the static line progression. While you are a student you don't ever just look around and relax. After a crazy high pressure rw skills camp day, I did a solo where I just grinned at the passing clouds, admired the horizon and barrel-rolled myself silly. So much fun!
