  3. H-mm I do my flare like he said: 1. Shut vertical speed to zero - begin surf 2. At the end of the surf finish flare shut horisontal speed Wind/Nowind/Downwind are allmost the same, only horizontal distance/touchdown horizontal speed changing Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

    Backflying

As been already said, coaching - the best way to do As to the Hot Tips: IMHO there are some:) What's help me a lot: 1. I've been told, that it's essentialy to have stright back (and even a little arched with chest a little bit up/straiten shoulders/chin up) during backfly and natural way to keep it - it's take a deep breath:) 2. Most unintentional spining come from unsymmetrical legs, best way to control legs while learning bacfly: put knees together/heels apart 3. (but may be most important) Mindset - relax;) Good Luck! 5. Not mine "Stupid thing" But I was impressed by what my friends did (was told on our way to home from DZ) At the end of a pozitive weekend one of them came to another with "cool" idea: "Let's do 2 way and at the break off don't track from each other but lay face to face say about 10 meters from each other and deploy...by my command - will be f***ng cool video!" and another say "yaeh! let's go!" Both well respected and (at least one of them) were known as "safety" guys. Canopies/WL/jumps#: velo/2+/1000+ xfire2/1.5/400 Luckily on of them cheated and didn't throw his PC "by comand" (give 2+ sec), but even this cheat barelly give him enough separation, coz after he pull, his canopy surge right under sniveling canopy of his teammate... As velo guy said on my "whata f***ng you hope on?": "We were relying on different deployment time/altitude of our canopies" Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  6. I bought the Skylark's Magellan after reading/hearing a very positive comments about thier canopies from many of skydivers here ( At that moment I consider to buy a Saffire 2 from Icarus Canopies)... The Canopy is just great:) Basing on my very little expireinse with Saffire 2 and opinion of fellow skydiver who flying Saffire 2 ~300 jumps and took my Magellan for a few jumps Magellan generally flying is vrey close to Saffire2 and outflying it... It has nose desing more like Crossfire The quality of conopy and material used is also very high P/S Magellan 140 WL 1.6 Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  7. Indeed they did:) In my case both Wolmari and Pro gives "Normally" opening, but Wolmari openings are usually slower than pro... Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  8. H-mm I'd say it DOES affect the opening... Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  9. Of course reverse S-fold! Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  10. Just for the record... The reserve name is "PZ-81", TaLka - is a name of complete system Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  11. IMHO It's no way Pro+Psycho It's Pro+Wolmari:) As PsychoPack actually is Psycho mod of ProPack with alteration of bagging (rolling the cocoon). WolmariPack actually is Wolmari mod of ProPack with one alteration - in way to make a cocoon... Instead of other Mods of ProPack and classic Propack, sides of "triangle" turns on the back of triangled stuff (i.e. out from the nose) not under front of it (on the nose) which should (per author's idea) eliminate the possibility to bring the brake or D line over nose and create lineover mal... In short: all what wolmari is - shown on the attached picture P/S Started to Wolmaripack ~100 jumps ago Work just fine Main reason was not fear of lineover but this mod give more neat packjob and for me it's faster and more convenient to do the "cocoon" Thanks Wolmari;) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  12. Here some cool mount for Neptune/VISO It's made by one of local skydiving gear manufacturer, but I think you can make it yourself or ask somebody who familiar with sewing machine:) Also I thought (before I bought this tool) for mounting protector this manner (i.e. on forearm, using round rubber cord, routed trough the protertor's holes) P.S. On pics VISO faced outward for better view, for jump we wear it closer to the elbow and on the inner side of forearm. Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  13. Alcohol IS A DRUG Indeed! Yes - Alcohol cause Anger, Hate, Aggression wich lead to the dark side of the Force... BTW What about tradition to bring a bottle of champagne on the jubilee load??? Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  14. Racer is ugly... But deamn comfortable... but ugly Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  15. How is that defined there? I don't have my manual in hand now. Where "there"? :) Wings (regarding replasecement broken/wear loop): Vector: Not for all model/manufacturer! For my conteiner (russian Status 4) It is For Vector it is not: ***Note that the grommets do not line up - see picture.*** see attached Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  16. How about common sense? Does it define when is a loop considered broken? It's states that Loop should be replaced if wear or broken... Common sence is great but IMHO in this case it would be better to difine the length more obviously (coz probably it's proper slack can differ from one model/manufactourer to other due to specific design) So I like how it define in Vector's manual Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  17. With modern closing pin design and container design, is it actually possible to have a PC in town from a closing loop too tight with a PC that is in good working order? Let me quantify this with having to close the container without any added tension devices. Personally I don't think that without a tension device that its possible to pack a PC in town from a closing loop too tight. Its possible to break closing loops while packing and its possible to cause damage to a rig from long term use of an extremely tight closing loop, though. +1:) It's not unusaul when some times a cute girl ask you to help to close her container and you almost cut your palm with pullupcord (yeah I know about powertools:) ) but after this "overtightened" rig lay off for a while the pin is not move so hard IMHO Regarding flap order and closing loops: First of all - of course it's should be done as stated in manual (RTFM :) ) coz the flaps/grommet could be asymmetrical at designed to closing in specifed order but what if it not spec.? IMHO the right - left order is more...h-mm say "natural" way for "right hand deployiment" containers (wich has right open side PC pocet and bridle lay on the right side) coz during deployment the pin/bridle and last flap moves away from each other...what do you think? Regarding closing loop - I am surprised, that Wings's manual does not say anything about it's adjusting=/ nor length, nor pull force nor even just that the loop shold be properly adjusted=/ (if I didn't miss something)... 18. Why do you think so? If it is connected to your reserve you have a high opening and cut it away, but fail to deploy reserve. It can save your life. Coz it has "deactivation system" connected to the main riser (see OP description) However it doesn't useless after deploymet... it's still metal and heavy :) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  19. You mean people jump without actually knowing for sure that their aad is installed correctly? wow. For some reason I always thought you could see the closing loop routing through the aad and closure pin. Must be a Racer induced feature expectation. Chalk up one more reason to get a rigger's ticket. . It's even worse, a lot of people (possible you too) jump without actually knowing, that their reserve connected to their risers Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
  20. IMHO this should be discussed between you and others on a load (and may be with DZO or load organizer) on a groung or at least before the door opened... 8 sec (or less) delay IMO much usual than 10-15 sec (though it can be not enough in teortical calculation for sure safety delay) So if others on a board (and organizer) would't be happy wait for your exit so long you can go last (with all seconds you'd want) or fuck this unsafe DZ and find another (where DZO will be happy to throw solos with 15sec interval) My point - You are not alone in the load...sure you have your right an a safe delay, but others may have their right to compromise the delay for the spot:) so tell em that they are wrong on a ground - may be they listen you and those, who will jump AFTER you give you the same delay that you give to the Guy before you (or show you the way to the nearest @long delays" DZ:) ) 4) The rest of the load may jump with shorter delay (those who yelled at you just over your head) so you will farther from the divers below you (those who relatilively under your control) and closer to the divers above you (less controlled area) so what you have win? 21. An-2 maximum altitude is 4400m/14425ft ASL, never heard that this aircraft climbed over 4000m though...and very, very slo-o-owly:) Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?

  24. May be they do that more because of stability than AR H-mm if you spread your arm like a bird (as Babylon guys did in trace 101 FF basik movie) ( >|o ) you'll get even more AR? Or (If the AR so important) we should turn 90 degree and track by side of our body forward? this give us AR more than 3! Why drink and drive, if you can smoke and fly?
