I understand that, but I just don't understand how they can ask people to vote on whether or not to enforce the law. It is a law they can't ask people to selectively decide which laws to enforce. They can ask people to decide if the law should be changed, but not enforced. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

I voted today in Hillsboro county, FL. On the ballot was a very strange proposal. I said something like. Do you think sexually oriented businesses in Hillsboro county should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. This relates to some ridiculous legislation that was passed a few years ago regulating to strip clubs. Here is my question. Why is this being asked? If there is a problem with the laws (which I think there is), change the laws. Why should people be voting on whether or not to enforce the laws. The law should be enforced or changed. I agree. One of my complaints about the current structure has always been the fact that a team who is not necessarily the best team in the country, can have a good day at nationals and end up representing the USA at the world championships. This happened a few years ago. Making more than one meet the determining factor would help to guarantee that the team we send to represent us would be the best we have. I doubt it will happen because, like it or not the USPA is a political organization and they need to protect their interests. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

This is completely off topic, but I wanted to point out that I am impressed. You are one of the few people from the right that I have seen show President Clinton the proper respect. Funny you should say that. I have over 2000 jumps and my GF has over 1000. We both have no problem with each other jumping, but for some reason it makes me really nervous when she jumps on days that I am not at the DZ. She feels the same way and worries when I am at the DZ without her. When we are both there, we rarely jump together, she is either doing 4-way or AFF and I am organizing, but we still feel better. Pip and Judy rent trailers on the DZ. Don't quote me on this, but I think they are arond $15 a night. They are very clean and well maintained. Once the season starts they are booked months in advance but this time of year shouldn't be a problem. You can email them freefly@skydivecity.com or just call manifest and ask for them. The bar will be open that night so I am pretty sure there will be people to play with when you get there. Look me up on Saturday and we can make another jump together. After all, there's absolutely no perversion involved in those lifestyles. Personally, I have always thought that all of the X history months were rather silly and I think this one is as well. On the other hand your comments about homosexuality undermining the moral foundations of family values are pretty absurd. First of all you would have to start from the assumption that heterosexuality automatically implied moral family values. No matter how much the religious right would like it to be so, that is just not the case. Sexuality and morality have absolutely nothing to do with each other. I had my gall bladder removed a few years ago, it was funny after about 2 weeks I thought I was doing great and would be back in the air within days. Then I did the worst thing that I could have done. I sneezed. The resulting pain and discomfort made me realize that I was not ready to jump. I waited a month from surgery to my first jump and had no problems at all. -OK Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana

This is just one of the MANY stupid things I have done over the years. It was at the WFFC, I had about 300 jumps, enough to know better. I was staying at a hotel down the street. Since the weather that day was aweful, I just went to the DZ to hang out, didn't bring my gear. Of course the weather cleared up and 2 friends wanted to go make a jump. I didn't have gear and a friend said, here take my extra rig another gave me a jumpsuit and altimeter, another a helmet. The rig had a stiletto in it and at the time I had never jumped anything but a Sabre. So here I am on the plane thinking about how many incident reports I had read that started with unfamiliar dz, borrowed gear, different type of canopy than he was used to. I freaked knowing that this was one of the stupidest things I had done to date in the sport. Unfortunately I let pride get in the way and didn't tell them that I didn't feel comfortable. I made the jump and didn't even break off high or any of the normal things that I should have done in that situation. All ended up just fine, but it was still not one of my better moments. I could very easily have been in the next month's incident reports. The moral: Don't let anyone talk you into doing something that you don't feel comfortable with and don't let pride keep you from saying no. Time flies like an arrow....fruit flies like a banana
