Don't you hate it when a WORD makes you mad? You look at yourself from the outside and it seems rediculous, yet every time you hear it, you want to scream! Why is that? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

When asked if they would sleep with Bill Clinton, 80% of women said "Never again". _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Heh, last I knew, you could still get Tab in some places. My step-mother-in-law practically lived on the stuff (her tawnic). She would source it like a junkie sourcing heroin. She had people who would get it for her because they lived near a store that carried it, or she would see it while they were travelling somewhere and buy cases of it to store up, just in case. Now were is my Pepsi Light (the original lemon Pepsi), that's what I want to know! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

What an awesome idea! Can you integrate the figure-8, or whatever its called, into your container harness, or do you wear another harness underneath? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Alright, one more. Do you have a copy of Something About Mary or any other Farrelly brothers' movies? If so, you HAVE to listen to the the alternate soundtrack (directors commentary). There's a scene where they have a TV playing in the background, basically playing a whole commercial from their friends car dealership (you will recognize it). Also, they shoot a scene in the Hot Club that is basically a day-long party with all their friends from High School. Great stuff! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Yup. Check out this (you have to register, but it's free). I attached my favorite. This is looking from Mass into RI across the border... _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

This came up in another thread. What do you call soda where you come from? We always just called it what it was (generic: soda, Coke for Coke/Pepsi, etc.), but my in-laws (from northern Mass/southern NH, US) call it "tonic". The first time I met them I thought it odd that they were drinking so much quinine water! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

I'm in South County. You know, the one that isn't actually a county. I knowit! They missed some: - You think that Galilee is across the channel from Jerusalem - You call it Westerly, Connecticut - You've actually gotten mad that they call Greene the Providence airport - When you see a national story about RI on TV, you call people you know, possibly even tape it - You tell stories about the '38 hurricane, even though your parents don't even remember it - You bore people in chat groups with trivia whenever you run across anotha RIer - You leave, but it never leaves you Did you know they changed the name of Galilee Beach to Salty Brine State Beach? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Yup. And the Silver Top Diner. That pretty much sums up college for me. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Have you seen the BigBlueBugCam? It's not up right now, but they put a web cam in the Big Blue Bug's eye. OSO.com has others too, including Wun-sock-et': http://www.oso.com/autos/content/homes/neighborhoods/cam_jump.html _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

I take issue with this statement!!! While your definitiion may be be the most common. "jiffy" has many definitions ... including the time it takes a photon to travel across a nucleon ... How anal of me, huh?! I always thought that Linus Torvalds stole that definition for Linux because he wanted to use an imaginary number (not -1^0.5, the other meaning) for this to calculate "BogoMIPS", a somwhat relative but imprecise measure of computer speed. Maybe I'm mixing up my Linux trivia. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Would you like a cabnit with that grinda, or ya gonna just drink from tha bubbla? Sorry, what I was trying to say is that there are several distinct accents in RI, the Cranston one being the most absurd , but different that someone from South County, or Barrington or Woonsocket ("throw me down the stairs my shoes"). However, when you get out in the sticks, and I mean STICKS (think hillbillies, you know what I mean), things seem to smooth out and are consistent across NE. Just my amateur observation. Mainies get the coverage (ah-yuh), but you hear a similar voice in Richmond, Burriville (no school in Fosta-Glosta!), etc. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

O.K., so then explain why everyone who sings sounds like they're from the west coast when they're singing, but some have accents so thick you can barely understand them when they're talking. Ciels- Michele Simple, because *you* are from the west coast. Singing is not talking, and generally accent-free, so you hear what you have heard people with that horrifying SoCal accent sound like when they sing, and assume that anyone else who sounds like that has that accent when they speak. Make sense? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Actually, depending which Boston accent you mean, it is probably nothing like how the Pilgrims spoke. Most regional accents are heavily influenced by immigrants, believe it or not (children grow up hearing both and integrate them). So if you have like a Southy accent, probably Irish influence. Brahmahs (sp?) probably have more like a pure derived King's English, I would guess. I've always guessed that the accent used by rural New England swamp yankees is probably the more like the original colonists. It seems pretty consistent from Maine to Rhode Island, anyway, whereas even in this small state, you can discern at least half a dozen unique accents in the urban and suburban areas. I'm not a linguist, but I did stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

I'm trying to picture this conversation. [you, at the computer]: "Oh, [name], how would you prepare human flesh?" [him] "Narci, something you want to tell me about?" [you] "A question came up on dz.com" [him] "Oh, why didn't you say so?" (considers and answers question) _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

lol! It has been awhile, hasn't it? Doreen is dirty blonde, I am kinda red. Any blonde I ever had was applied with tin foil. And the picture doesn't show his color well. He is very blonde! I don't get it. They broke your arm because you jumped elsewhere? Or did they blame your injury on some sort of bad dz karma? Either way, my guess is that they are jealous. Either they are financially unstable, and any lost business could send them over the edge, or they know that the other dz presents a better experience/value and they are afraid they will lose more business to them. The non-owners have just bought into the club/cult brainwashing. Fuck 'em. This is your home dz anyway. The other places are just where you jump. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?
