Welcome! Say goodby to productive work days! There are a few of us here, and some lurkers. I'm actually in RI, but when I jump at home, it at Pepperell or Orange. I think you can do a search in the member directory by state and/or dz. Where are you jumping? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

You'll need another $150mm for the insurance alone! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Do you feel the same way about your audible? How many times has it caught you by surprise? Isn't that the same thing? Or does ground proximity in peripheral vision just make it that much worse? I started getting surprised by my audible a few times too often, but my reaction was not to quit, but to wake the f*ck up. I drilled and focussed, and straighted up. I would probably do the same if I was surprised by an AAD, only more so. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Yea, that was back when this was the land of the free, home of the brave. Now it's a nation cowering under a "heightened state of alert". _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound? -

Can't not drive! I would have to move into town or something, otherwise spend all day walking to the nearest convenience store and back for groceries! Will always wear a seatbelt and am a facist about it with other people in the car. My car ain't no damn democracy either! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Well, it was weird, and they had forgotten to tell me about the "single sex rule", which apparently the made up just after my mom caught me with my g/f. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Tell her to grow up, clean up the tub and the rug and move on with your life. Don't get sucked into playing games or politics with your wife, be adults about it. You did get the shit off the dog, right? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Sure, I would by a ton of them, sell ad time on them and give them away or sell them at a discount. I would include messages about evolution and free speech that I wanted people to hear as well. Around election time I would add plugs for my favorite political candidates ("favorite" defined as "willing to pay me the most"). I might even put some music on it, depending which record company was willing to pay $$ to promote their latest fabricated "star". Sounds awesome! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

No, thanks, I'll pass. Good luck, though! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Not exactly "nearby", but Bare Elegance and Valley Ball seem to do pretty well. The former is in Englewood (edge of South Central), which you may know of from a rap tune of the same name. The latter is in the Valley, natch. They are both owned by the same people. Former cops, but don't think that means they are clean. I think one shot the other a couple of years ago. I'm not sure what they want for the cut, but they seem to have the best talent there, so it must be pretty decent... Or, um, so someone told me! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

That's his cousin, he's 17. Explanation enough? _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Bill, I think you've presented the most coherent and informed arguments in this debate. You've shown how it is possible to integrate faith and belief in god with what we know so far as science. Steven Hawkins says that the singularities and broken symmetries are only illusions created because we live in a 3-dimensional slice of a multi-dimensional universe (my amateur interpretation, anyway). The "Big Bang" is only our space becoming tangental to a border of hyperspace. He also concludes that there is nothing outside the universe, that it has always existed, and therefore there is no supreme being who created it, or lives outside it. I'm not ready to take this "leap of faith", I think we are slowly discovering the true nature of god and the universe as we study it, and that it will be thousands of years before we even begin to have even an clue of god's true nature, even ideed we ever can. Perhaps there is an ultimate uncertaintly principal that prevents is from knowing this. Metaphorically, we eat the apple and are cast out! _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

Are you trying to prove that god exists based on the entropy law of thermodynamics? This is flawed. Entropy can be reversed with the addition of energy, generally this occurs in living things through a process we call "eating". As long as the universe as a whole has increased entropy, we are still OK. Live evolves just fine, more complex organisms evolve, and the universe still becomes more disordered as a result based on the increased disorder that comes from "eating". Just look at the dishes piled up in your sink. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?

And do not twist a doctrine of love into a doctrine of hate. God is only vengeful when the politics of the time demand it. If you believe the Christian doctrine, you know that god came to earth to tell us to love him and one another. Someone quoted Matthew. For me, that is the alpha and the omega. Anything else is cheesy politics and manipulation of the masses in god's name. _________________________________________________ If you hadn't read this, would it have made a sound?
