What out-of-the-ordinary things do you do for safety?
bob.dino replied to a topic in Safety and Training
Figure out what everyone's doing on every load I'm on. Usually chat to the people exiting after me about winds and separation. -
Whee. Break-off will be fun

With cameras, that's two nicely full planes. Have fun folks

Looks 100% CGI to me, but I'm on an old computer and it's pixellated and jerky.

There's a lot of good reading in the Safety section (link near the top of this page). Have a read of Lisa Briggs' articles in the Gear & Equipment section, particularly those relating to choosing a canopy and buying your first set of gear. It'll clarify lots of things for you and help you to make sense of all the options. Welcome to the sport

The short answer is no. The long answer is that the Katana is an extremely aggressive canopy, one step below those being used by pro swoopers. It's definitely not intended for new folk, and you'd find very few if any dropzones that would let you jump it. Instead, look for canopies like the Sabre2, Pilot, Safire2, Sabre, Spectre, or Triathlon. All good, fun canopies that you can learn loads on without scaring yourself silly or having to visit the hospital. Titanium is expensive, and six months of pain while you're healing ain't all that either.

...and lost to the Irish? Yep, think so. Allez les Verts!

Pretty much. Lotsa pics here. I'm not sure how active this centre's gonna be, given that their two main instructors put themselves in hospital several weeks ago.

It's been one hell of a ride.
bob.dino replied to mjosparky's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
All the best & thanks for the ride. If we ever find ourselves in the same bar, beer's on me. -
It resulted in a reserve ride. Bbarnhouse was there and can provide more detail.

Ditto, though I'm not sure how long the briefing really lasts. They do all end up in the hanging harness though.

2nd hanger from the right, facing the camera has a loose cutaway handle. It's mentinoned in the thread I linked.

Yup. Stowing the toggle is slower than with others, but I really like mine.

feral feral feral Sorry, but it's bugging me. And yes, I'm a pedant.

There's an events & places to jump forum thataway --> You might get a better response there.

Well, alot of individuals living outside our beloved America see what they want to see, and have no problem critizing it accordingly.....with no due regard to the facts that are right out in the open. I see your little smilely face there, but it's another smiley face in a long line of smileys that are preceeded with an anti-american sentiment. Forgive me for saying, but its getting real old. Especially when its from our "family". Hey, if the US stopped exporting World's Wildest Police videos to every shitty cable channel in the world, you mightn't get that kind of thing.

Marathon on Chalk Farm Road in Camden?

He looks like he's about to get slapped!

You do know that you can drag the map and get to Australia? Oddly enough, if I remember right, the frapper world map contains two separate Australias.

...and what country you live in. He appears to be in the UK, so if he does a Search he'll find loads of info.
