I've noticed that after about 10-20 jumps they get noticably easier to pack.

Is it "funny" to push somebody out of the door?
bob.dino replied to The111's topic in Safety and Training

Australians are, in many ways, more conservative than most. However, use of offensive language isn't one of them. Aussies are completely relaxed about their kids hearing cursing. Radio stations here happily run polls called "hit or shit" during hours that kids will be listening. You couldn't do that in the UK before 9pm, and probably not at all in Ireland. UK TV has a pretty rigidly-enforced 'watershed' at 9pm. Pre-watershed, kids are assumed to be watching, and content is restricted. Post-9pm, pretty much anything goes. As an aside, the word cunt is massively offensive to US folk, pretty common in the UK, and not much more offensive than fuck in Ireland. The fact that it's used in colloquial speech doesn't mean it's allowed on broadcast media. Aren't cultural differences wonderful? -

surely ff goin first is better? they fall faster, there for getting out the way, and as they are vertical they present more to the relative wind so are more affected by it, and as u run into wind then that means they are getting pushed further away? ive never heard a good argument for ff going after rw That's completely backwards mate . As Ron mentioned, Kallend's exit separation presentation is what you want. Here it is. -
The 3-way dive pool is structured for one experienced 'tutor' person and two novices (under 150 jumps each), rather than three raw novices. If you have any specific questions about the intent/origin of the pool, I can probably get them answered.

Or, you could go to the centre stow (see attached) before the last pair of outboard stows. This might reduce the chance of risers being stowed around the bottom of the reserve container. You could also put the lines into the centre stow from the other side; I don't know enough to tell you if that would be better or worse.

What is the point of calling it JM1 and JM2, if you then have to describe which side is which? (obviously I am not an instructor, just wondering) I think he was providing translations for those not familiar with JM1 & 2 terminology. I rather doubt they say "JM1-which-is-Main-side" every time . edit: Actually, having checked his profile, I'm damn sure they don't.

I thought they had 2 DHC-6s?

The APF have a 3-way dive pool.

The scientologists are ridiculously litigious. I believe they're also legally classed as a cult rather than a church in Germany.

My part of the solution is giving him USD 100 a year. I've contributed money to three of the four community sites that have been a major part of my life. Only on dz.com do I still have to read ads. That I can live with. This I find too intrusive. I'm happy to spend my time on an advertising-supported site. I'm just not happy to also separately fund it once I feel that the advertising gets in the way of the information I come to this site to obtain. Anyway, I've beaten this horse to death, so I'll bow out now and wait to see what happens. -
A point is a single formation that you build. Turning points = doing many of them. There are two types of formation: Random: build a single formation. Block: two distinct formations, with a defined move (aka inter) between them. Building a random gets you one point, building a block gets you two - one for the first formation and one for the second. If mess up on the inter you don't get the second point. There's a lot more than four formations - look at the Fastrax link above for nice graphic demonstations of the randoms and blocks. On any one dive, five or six points are drawn randomly. You then do these as many times as possible in the 35 seconds from the first team-member leaving the plane. There's more to it than that, but that should give you a basic understanding.

Did the record happen? How many?

I like that thought.

If you get the rig while you're in Perris and jump it there, you should have no problems bringing it back to the UK. ps: a more descriptive title to this thread would've helped you get more useful answers

Where do they get the fresh fish from?

Joellercoaster has been posting here for a long time, and if he knows BG, then I tend to believe it's real. What is the problem with the Spanish schools and dz.com?

That freeflier owes you an apology and two jump tickets. He's lucky he didn't get grounded, as that's a real safety issue. -
Best Skydiving Movie EVER (Chris Cowden)
bob.dino replied to Floats18's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Chris pushed them out the door because they'd forgotten to organise an exit count and would've sat there forever. -

No it doesn't. It changes it to a link where users can read more about the product that you think is flawed. I trust your post will make it very clear that you're not endorsing the product. If there is no distinction between a link that I create and a link that you add to my post, then there's no way for the user to tell if I intended to link that product. Longtime users will learn never to click on the name of a product and new users will just be confused. I beg to differ; it crosses a very important line in that it turns editorial content into paid advertising. If each post that mentioned an Aerodyne product had a little ad at the side for the product, I'd have no problem. Let me repeat: ads are not the problem. Ads pretending to be editorial content are the problem. I'll wait.
