There has to be a cool story there...

No cutaways in 600+ jumps. One reserve ride.

No they're not. Go to the L&B website and download the Solo & Optima manuals. There's no mention of the word Dytter in the English versions, and I'm pretty sure there isn't in the Russian either. The Viso manual is not yet available, primarily because the product isn't . And even if the Solo & Optima were called Dytters, they're audible altimeters and the Viso isn't.

Half of Australia? And me. But not me rotten bloody school holidays So, all the cool kids then

Tandem joyrides maybe, but I wouldn't put AFF instruction in the same league. Squeak's an Aussie and I'm Irish. I'm sure both of us find the concept of constant tipping odd. But that's a topic for bonfire/SC.

You can get that on an analog.
-
The Viso and the Pro-Dytter are two different devices. The Viso is a visual altimeter with a digital display, to be worn on the wrist. The Pro-Dytter is an audible altimeter to be worn in the helmet.

Any reason to not have mostly black canopy?
bob.dino replied to doorgirl's topic in Gear and Rigging
That'd be my concern too - how easy you are to see under canopy. -
I'd have a look into that - mine has only spun up once when I had really lousy body position. I'm loading mine at 1.2. Things may be different if you're loading it significantly higher. Is your pilot chute correctly made and in good nick? Orbiting/spinning pilot chutes may contribute to line twists. How much loose line are you leaving between the risers & last stow? I'm probably telling you a bunch of stuff you already know, but I figured it couldn't hurt to put the questions out there...

If it's on your wrist you're unlikely to hear it. Pro-Track Pro-Dytter Optima Viso Alti-Track Neptune Audible x x x x Canopy Alert x x Digital Visual x x Analog Visual x Logbook x x x Note: visual and audible functionality doesn't really work at the same time, so to utilise all features you'd require two.

Does putting Rockbox on the iPod mean that you can no longer play songs purchased from the iTunes store onto it?

anything dangerous about a sabre?
bob.dino replied to unformed's topic in Swooping and Canopy Control
The size of the slider. Measure it, and send the dimensions along with the canopy size & serial no to PD and see if they think it should have a larger one. The openings will be brisk compared to more modern canopy designs, but with the right size slider you shouldn't have problems. -
I think it's fairly obvious that the issuee is a skydiver. The issuer on the other hand, was probably a consular offical. Who might skydive.

If she'll have you, yeah

Which one for my costume? Please post why.
bob.dino replied to VanillaSkyGirl's topic in The Bonfire
We'd better tell all those dancers that they've had the wrong idea for years Rosa's pretty damn fit. If she wanted to wear something skin-tight, she'd carry it off without problems. -

Sexy or seductive depending on the skirt. A belt is slutty . -
Whats your little handshake before you leave the plane?
bob.dino replied to Mike111's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Our team one had four hands in the middle, with the camera guy's on top. We then did an exit count, pulled our hands away and played rock-paper-scissors. It was a great way to release tension -
Video still from a 3-way RW jump gone bad. Man, we're bad-ass freefliers .
-
Out of curiosity, what size is the Sam and how many jumps do you have on it?

I'm struggling with a computer at the moment, so can't open pdfs to check, but I think you might find what you're looking for here. Let me know if you don't, and I'll ask the Aussie freestyle chick if she has them... -
: 16 : 0 14 jumps at the Picton Challenge. Built a 36-way jewel on the third attempt, and spent three more jumps attempting to get the second point - another 36-way jewel, but with a donut centre instead of a bipole. It's fun when everyone has to drop grips, and turn 90 degrees. Our quadrant completed twice

And not for me. I've tested on three different machines on two separate networks. Odd.

http://www.freefalluniversity.com loads http://www.freefalluniversity.co.uk in a frame. The .co.uk site is configured to use /announce.asp as the index page. Unforunately, someone's removed it, so the site 404s with a title. Note to the freefalluniversity webmaster: there are better ways to redirect a user than loading another site in a no-border frame. /computer nerd.

Interesting....I know of one that's not. Terry neglected to append the footnote: It's on p17.
