  1. I used STA Travel several years ago. If you search again, you'll find that the answers are all in the forum archives - search for "travel insurance" or "travel insurance uk".
  2. So for arguments sake, lets say that by the time you qualify for you F, you are flying a HP canopy, (for me I will be under a KA97 when i complete my 1000th jump) do you attempt your 20 consecutive accuracy jumps under your current wing, or borrow a big old square wing that you can land on a dime everytime.... Current HP wing. It's no fun otherwise
  3. I can't directly answer your question, but I can provide some possibly-related info. I did 30-50 jumps on a Safire2 170 loaded at 1.2 before my Samurai 170 showed up. The difference between the two was night and day - the Samurai is significantly more responsive, dives more, and is all-around a step up in performance. However, I'm not entirely sure that an elliptical is what you're after - what exactly do you mean by "flying the canopy aggressively while at higher altitudes"?
  4. I've just run for the first time in a couple of weeks - did about 2km of hills and felt great. Only time (it's the middle of the working day here) stopped me doing a little more.
  5. Am I the only TI out there that think Sigma 370's toggle pressure isn't bad at all and definately not "on the hard side." It's probably worth pointing out that you're not exactly of average build either...
  6. That's 15 minutes from the time that you call them. If you and your tandem passenger pound in 1km from the DZ, how long might it be before someone realises that there's a problem? If your camera-guy is trying to stabilise two injured people he's not running for help...
  7. Make 'em fly the same wing (& same amount of weight) in each event. That paraglider may kick arse in distance, but it'll screw you in speed...
  8. My next licence will be an Aussie F licence, and apart from getting to 1000 jumps, the requirement that'll be the hardest to achieve is this:
  9. why not It's the USA - most probably liability. If she became ill from drinking unpasteurised milk, she could sue the farm owner. Unless she signed a wavier .
  10. There's a lot to see & do in Australia - it's absolutely massive. What are your interests?
  11. Note that these MrFreefall383 is not the original poster (who is/was selling a rig).
  12. A horny guerilla chats up women then blows up the bar when they reject him. A horny gorilla is a skydiving formation. Searching the forums will provide plenty of information on what it is and how to safely accomplish one. However, your plan of 2-ways focussing on RW skills sounds plenty fine to me.
  13. My phone plays the theme tune to Pinky and the Brain at me.

    Hypocrisy

Really interesting post. I'd be interested in any insights you've gleaned into this.
  15. As far as I know, PHP requires you to use a library to access any database other than MySQL. Please feel free to correct me on this. BTW, PEAR is another abstraction layer, and comes bundled with PHP.
  16. I don't use PHP, but 30sec with Google came up with ADOdb.
  17. In Australia, people that have lived in the UK can't donate blood (fear of Bovine Spongiform Encephalophy, or Mad Cow Disease). That's fine. What's not so fine is that you can't donate if you're gay or have had anal sex. WTF?
  18. Downside: you'd have to live in the USA.
  19. 1. Don't install junk. 2. Defragment the hard-disk regularly. I've never had a machine inexplicably slow down.
