I'd also suggest using Firefox instead of IE. Much more secure, and has lots of extensions available to add cool stuff. Such as the weather forecast in your status bar.

There's been at least one serious thread on this in the Women's Only forum. Short answer: yes. The answer I gave to a friend who was stressed about this (she's a good looking woman): your looks might have gotten you some opportunities that others didn't but it was up to you to take those opportunities and make something of them. For the record, she did and is now a damn good jumper. It really doesn't hurt that she's loads of fun to be around too. edit: One thread Another thread.

The standards do seem to be different in the UK & US. I've seen an episode of a US Cops-style show where they showed footage of a cop being shot and killed while performing a traffic stop. Wrt free-to-air television, the USA seems to be more worried about sex and less about violence than the UK.

Last time I was up at Elderslie, they'd promised us two piston Cessnas so we could do formation Starcrests. Unfortunately it didn't come off. That would've made the pistons worthwhile!

It can be a good idea to have it shipped to your rigger. That way it can be inspected prior to you paying for it. And since it's going to the rigger rather than you, the seller can be sure they won't get gypped out of their money. -
Averaging the guys so far, and depending on the Skyvan, you'll only be able to get 12-16 people on the plane before hitting max takeoff weight . Putting ten of you on the tailgate won't make the pilot all that happy . Depending on where I looked, for sorties under 100 miles, the payload of the Skyvan is 3400 - 4500lbs..

Where in the USA are you going to be in October? Ring or email the gear stores near you (eg. if you'll be in Southern California, Square1 at Perris is a good shop). They'll have a number of different offers and should be able to guide you in the right direction. Ring them long before October, as there can be quite a long lead time for components - for example, I believe Performance Designs currently have a 8-10 week delivery time for main canopies.

:5:0 Saturday was a hangover recovery day; Sunday was five jumps with the new 4-way team. Lots of fun!

I like the Australian system. Intermediate is jump number limited: three of the team must have a cumulative total of 1500 jumps or less at the start of comp. It's deliberately set up so that there will be a P/C (though we use the term tutor). To my inexperienced mind it seems like a good way to impart knowledge... and even better, my DZ pays the tutor's slot for Inter teams that plan on competing at Nationals . (If you're reading this, thanks Phil!)

There's a lot more to making a drive bootable than that. Easiest way: 1- Go into the BIOS and make sure laptop will boot from CD-ROM in preference to the hard disk. 2- Insert the Windows 2000 CD into the CD-ROM drive. 3- Reboot.
