Yup. To jump in a group containing 8 or more people, you must posess a Starcrest. There's no separate SCR & SCS; just a Starcrest Award. To get a Starcrest you must sucessfully complete three jumps all of which meet the following requirements: - 8-10 particpants. - Starcrestee must dock fifth or later. - Jump witnessed by two current Starcrest holders. The scheme is administered separately to the one in the USA. The CI (~=DZO) at my dropzone is very reluctant to sign off C Licences (=100 jumps) for people that don't have their Starcrests. Of course, once you receive your Starcrest, you must buy .

If he's showing up with better aircraft and cheaper jumps, then more power to him. The USA is the ideological home of capitalism. This is capitalism. What's the problem?

Listen to what Lisa (skybytch) and Bill (billvon) have to say. They've been around this game a while and know what they're on about. The rest of us? Take our advice with a grain of salt.

It's a better color for a woman anyway. .

There's no jet in it. It's just built to look like one. It's just a hovercraft with unusual styling.

For curious readers, here's a 2002 post by Bill with more details on pilot-chute construction and why 0.6s is a good number.

That list is available here.

Just ask. Don't stress . -
To the non-Aussies: In Australia, a Starcrest is required for a jumper to jump with more than 8 people. To get your Starcrest you must complete three jumps, each of which must satisfy the following conditions: - Jump must contain 8-10 people. - Starcrestee must dock fifth or later. - Jump must be witnessed by two current starcrest holders. This precludes taking the inexperienced jumper out as part of the base; the whole point of the jump is to teach the novice to swoop and dock on a formation. And yes, it's often target practice if you're in the base. At my DZ, Starcrests are usually, but not always, attempted by folk with over fifty jumps, and the CI (~=DZSO) is reluctant to sign off C Licences (100 jumps) for non-Starcrest holders. My first Starcrest attempt, which I screwed up, was on jump 49. I then joined a 4-way team and so my three successful Starcrests were on jumps 97, 98, & 99.

Why not ask Icarus?

From his point of view, it's probably not worth the hassle of dealing with a college club that may or may not be organised and professional. Especially if it's only for one weekend. In my experience, lots of uni & college clubs are so riddled with internal politics as to be ineffective. Not saying that's the case here; just saying that that may be the reason he hasn't decided to work closely with you.

There's up- and downsides to respect. The upside is you got it, the downside is the work you gotta put in to keep it .

That's an amazing photo. Whoever got that as one of their AFF photos is a lucky lucky sod.

I thought it was because she was all over you and keeps you warm?

He's kicked and his official website is completely stuffed. Click on any of the links to see someone that tried to use php on a host without it properly configured.

Is it about to boom?

Yay! Still gonna get colder for a while though. Fortunately I've got tunnel+jumping in Perris in August .

FUCKING E-bay I swear they are rolling up bids...
bob.dino replied to ACMESkydiver's topic in The Bonfire
eBay antes up your bid in increments that depend on the amount currently bid. So if your max bid was $243.45 and the other person bid $235, eBay would probably have increased your bid to $240. However, if the other person bid $240, eBay would increase the bidding to your maximum of $243.45. -
Not having any rigging understanding, I'll have to trust you on that one, but I can add that he has a rarer quality: the ability to explain that knowledge.

FYI, the locator on the site only works for US folk.
