Now why didn't I think of doing that search myself? Thanks mate, that's a wonderful resource of information!

Has Anybody Jumped an Audiovox DC400?
bob.dino replied to Avion's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
For those that have no idea what it is, an Audiovox DC400 is a digital video camera. It appears to record to SD or MMC cards. I've not jumped one. However, shouldn't this be in Photography & Video? -
Five Quality Canopy Skills Every Beginner Should Have

That 180° front-riser turn was his jumping partner. Mdrejhon's approach is a straight-in later on in the video and does include an asymmetrical flare.

So was the blind date the FJC?

I'd never really thought about it. Two friends put the idea into my head when I was living in London. They chickened out and I ended up forgetting about it. Eighteen months later, I've just moved to Australia. I've been in Sydney two days and walk past a shop called "Sydney Skydivers". It's a Sunday afternoon so the shop is closed. I walk into the internet café next door and immediately go to their website. I take a chance on calling them after hours, the owner answers, I do the first jump course the next day, and AFF 1 & 2 the day after. I was really scared for the first few jumps, and with dodgy weather and a busy tandem operation, I found myself on the ground more often than not. I promised myself I wouldn't quit before I finished my AFF. Much to my surpise on Stage 7 I found myself grinning like an idiot in freefall, and haven't looked back since! 150 jumps in the first year. On target for 300 in my second year. Life is good .

The only reason I didn't do my 100th naked is 'cause it was the middle of winter! Do it. I'd be shocked if a DZO said you couldn't do it. Is your part of the USA that prudish about nudity? Or is (s)he worried about you ending up with a cactus up your arse from a dodgy landing?

You've got an A licence. Go jump somewhere gear rental isn't so expensive.

He'll be on in a couple of hours. Fingers crossed .

Profit vs. Safety/Rules/Right Thing To Do
bob.dino replied to Hooknswoop's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
We have a DZ T-Shirt. Plain white, with black writing: I'm a Loser with poor canopy control. If you do something stupid under canopy, you have to wear it whenever you're on the DZ. Someone had to wear it for nigh on three months once . -
Does AFF-I rating make skydiving a job?
bob.dino replied to Icon134's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I read Latitia's message as being "you guys probably haven't been instructors long enough to have burned out". -
re: 5 canopy skills... new article
bob.dino replied to packerboy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I had absolutely no idea what this thread was about; I assumed it was split from another thread. In future, when discussing an article, could you please provide a link to it? For others, here's the article referred to by the original post. -
It's dinner time in Perth. Give Squeak a little time!

looking at my A card...

So blow the instructor a kiss or give them the V-for-Victory sign on leaving the plane. It works wonders . -
Just to add to the clamour: Pro-Track. Plus: Proven, reliable, solid. Ridiculously good customer service (search the forum archives for stories). Minus: Use is not intuitive, doesn't log past 119 seconds. Neptune. Plus: Lots of cool features, can be used as a wrist-mount. Minus: Still got some teething software and hardware troubles. I'd choose a Pro-Track as my primary audible. If I was buying a second, I'd happily get a Neptune, but I want my primary to be as close to 100% reliable as possible.

Sabre 135 w/ 25 jumps ~ 1.4 WL
bob.dino replied to Kimblair13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
The question could be clumsily rephrased as: "Once you let go of all inputs, the recovery arc is not affected by whatever inputs you had applied. True/False." Leave my mental health out of this. It's fragile enough as it is . -
Are Skydiving resumes really considered for big ways?

Sabre 135 w/ 25 jumps ~ 1.4 WL
bob.dino replied to Kimblair13's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Q3: it should be affect instead of effect. Q16: should it be 'natural recovery arc' or do you mean 'natural recovery'? And I second Ron and marks's comments. I understand Q21, but then I've an engineering degree... edit: should've said that I really like the quiz. It made me think and question the level of understanding I have of certain fundamental concepts. -
Jumpsuit for RW or the little freeflying I've done. Helmet, googles, audible, & wrist-mount too. Whatever I've got on for a hop n pop. I bring an alti as it's required by the Aussie Op Regs, but no goggles.
