  1. Handy hint: make sure they're padded. As well as being more comfortable for the restrained person, they don't rattle and worry the neighbours.

  4. I'm pretty sure I'm not prephekt . That said, I'll always stand up for the guy that gets his end away. Even if the lady in question is reticent afterwards .

  14. E1-11 was a reciprocal emergency medical care agreement. It's been replaced with the European Health Insurance Card. Go get one (UK). In summary: immediate care is covered, with followup also being covered if you're a student or have been seconded to the country for work.

  17. I fondly remember the days where an "@aol.com" email address got you blacklisted on sight. Probably-misremembered history lesson: AOL had several million subscribers, but their system wasn't connected to the internet. Most of the less-than-clueful people got AOL; the more tech-savvy went with ISPs of various sorts and got themselves on the internet. This is long before broadband. Then, one day in the early-to-mid-nineties, AOL gave their subscribers access to the internet. All of a sudden, USENET was deluged with idiots who didn't understand the basics of netiquette. The signal-to-noise ratio dropped through the floor. It was a dark day for the internet, and it happened around the time that commercialism on the internet went from being an effort indulged-in only by pariahs to something acceptable. I understand that AOL was a symptom of something that was going to happen anyway, but dumping a couple of million clueless idiots onto the internet in one day did get them a fairly bad reputation. More accurate information.
  18. A penthouse apartment. A windtunnel. A Maserati. The rest I'll sort out myself.
  19. Possible, but unlikely. NTFS's default cluster size is 4KB, meaning that a 9KB file will take up 12KB on disk. However, Explorer will still report the size as 9KB, and dz.com won't reject the file for being too big.
