there is no minimum age for jumpers in the US per the FAR's but you won't find many places that let even 16 year olds jump. Mike Mullins kids jump from his King Air tho.

Hmmmmm.....apparently most everyone here has done the AFF (accelerated financial failure) method? I was static line. After a nice long day of arching in the dirt and maybe 1,500 jumps off the ramp for PLF, away we went. A DHC2 Beaver, 6 other dents and myself. Watched the biggest macho guys hanging on the strut crying, some women that got out bravely and fell off, then it was my turn......holy shit! My jumpmaster Cindy, had me get in the door and watched the ground, OUTSIDE!!!, okay hand over hand out the strut, looked at her, GO!!! Let go and there I was in space...where in the fuck did the plane go?!? Next thing I knew I was under the prettiest massive canopy I ever seen. It was great! Actually, I do think us "strut babies" or staic line trained people have the edge cause we don't mind getting out at 3 grand at all! No matter how ya learn it it's the greatest feeling (well, almost) in this life as for as I can tell :)

Skreamer. I think that maybe you're thinking of an FXC Astra (which is what I have) has a green light! I have every confidence in it if I should need it (and I hope I never do). The student gear he was jumping had the FXC12000 mechanical AAD, thank God it worked! As for this guys 45 jumps, yes, he has been back on the "dope rope" a lot, has no relative work yet and maybe he should take up a different sport. He is grounded at the moment and the DZO might make it permanent.

Hi all. Just got back from the zone. Went up with 3 other jumpers in the 182. To make a long story short, one guy doing his 45th jump damn near went in. I was in freefall and watched him exit into a bad spin. I deployed and watched him go past me tumbling and spinning. I thought I was watching a deadman! He didn't pull anything at all. His FXC12000 worked and he was on the ground maybe 10 seconds after his reserve opened. I give this guy a ride home from the zone and he just said he was trying to stop the spin and lost altitude awareness, damn near cost him his life. And in light of the other FXC12000 failures this year, he is lucky to still be here.

good jump! My favorite jump at last years Lost Prairie boogie was the Sunset load on the last Saturday of the event. Hop n pop from about 14 grand. I was in the Skyvan leading two twin Otters, 72 jumpers out there on the cross country Glacier Nat'l Park to the east, Idaho mountains to the west, fuckin awesomes! Mike

the kids like to hang out at the zone in the summer when the pool is open, otherwise Mary gets very bored very fast :) I bought my older kids a tandem, daughter 21 thought she was going to die! Son 19 loved it and will be taking his first jump course when it dries up here in the NW. Both of the young ones are looking forward to turning 18 (as am I) so they can jump (and I can have an empty nest!)

I bought my girlfriend a tandem jump last year. It was great! I exited right before her, watched them freefall and landed before them. A day to remember :)

Skyvan is cool! Made a jump from it at Lost Prairie last year. The young lady next to me enjoyed all that "vibration" on the seat!!! I enjoyed my exit till I fell below that A/C, the got blown away, good jump anyway
