  2. Since you bring it up, I remember a competetion in CO where the max distance was 2 cones. I was doing a fun jump and swooped the course right after the competetion was over, going 4 cones.......... ------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok ok boys, it was the shitty piloting but I have plenty of excuses My 5 jumps max/weekend cannot compete with the 20+ jumps/weekend made AT mile-hi over the pond. Anyway, I'm not going to say much more, I'll just show up next year and we'll see what happens. I like guys in capris. Very cute
  3. Miles you crazy dude... you're hard core, good luck.

    burned out

I'm with ya Jeff, same here. Still love to rig and BASE, seems skydiving's taken a backseat though lately. Just not enough funds or interest to keep me going. But who's to say I won't go hard again... probably after I graduate and have time and money to devote. Yoshi, do whatever to your heart's content. Nothing wrong with a break, you deserve it. Hope to still see ya around here and there and in between though
  8. No prob. Just be careful of spyware and such. Hopefully you still run your firewall while downloading. The program doesn't give out spyware and viruses, but other users can. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  10. Jimmy, You post a good argument and I can honestly see you've put a lot of thought into it. However, several whuffo friends have asked me 'wow, can you teach me to base jump?' I giggle and say, 'get a few hundred skydives in, then we'll talk.' It’s because I don't want to see them get hurt. I don't want the responsibility considering the risk of skydiving vs. the risk of base. They have to figure this out for themselves. I've come to grips with the difference and I believe it’s large. ...I suppose we're just different minded people. I've only argued because I still don't understand. In this specific situation: -minimal parachute time -minimal reaction time -minimal body awareness time -lack of risk/reason factor (because of age and lack of experience) All these are very generalized but very important when pondered imo. C ya. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  11. To Walt and Nick: Its been an honor most of all, and a pleasure to meet ya'll both. Thanks for your guts and glory, and for paving the way for us yahoo's. Ya'll are the true pioneers and w/o that, we wouldn't have the history or knowledge that we have today. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  13. Yes there are severe injuries that can occur when BASE jumping, smart girl for realizing this... Seems you're already setting yourself up to find out what they are for yourself. A tower?? Please, share details! _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  14. Hey it was just a question not a statement . And I said "cool" not "show off." There's a difference see... I was cool in high school without showing off. [troll feeding] PS- 'High school' is two words, and 'anymore' is one... Just in case they didn't teach you that in speedy graduation school. 15. The only thing I can possibly contribute is saying this... Jimmy I like your videos and think you're funny and an extremely competent jumper in all aspects. Saying this however, I think you should reconsider this girl's age. I am a female, and a closer to 16 than 35. I remember this age well, and after making some base jumps here and there, I have come to grips with the risk I am putting myself in. At 16, I would not understand this AT ALL. Why is she base jumping? To be cool in school? I have come to find base is very personal. Its for a reason of fulfillment. At 16, there's SO much in life yet to explore. Prom, high school teams, college, boys, driving, etc. I have noticed that base is for publicity to you. I think the base community is having a cow right now because you're passing along this attitude to someone who doesn't know any better. She doesn't have the maturity to balance risk and reason yet. Everyone knows there's a big difference b/w 16 and 18, and 18 and 21, etc. But this just strikes me because that wasn't TOO far back for me to remember _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  16. It IS the water! CONGRATS woman!!!! I'm so happy for you
  17. Avery, I agree w/ you completely. Another thought I always contemplate while standing on the edge is obstructions! Sometimes (many times) there are objects in the way of my navigation to the landing area. The question now comes down to... on heading opening, and then flying my parachute to the intended landing area. This is most often my most pondered thought. "In theory" and "don't screw up" plans often come into play. Risk evaluation...? Too many factors to determine. We're all taking the plunge and coming out alive every time we live. Here's to another leap... use your head. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  19. They're pretty common these days... most field riggers who are active and pack Vectors have probably packed one themselves or understand the system. Taking my practical exam for rigging a couple years ago, the DPRE handed me a reserve with a skyhook. They were new at the time and I had never even heard of the system. He handed me the manual and said 'follow the instructions.' I did, and assembled it properly. Just telling you this story to say, if I can do it for my qualifying rigging exam in that situation, I would hope a practicing rigger can figure it out as well _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  20. I'd take a surfer chick to the gun show any day, bring it And then we'd race up a tower 1800 ft, if she's really hard core it should take no more than an hour... Actually I'd let Jennejenn do that one, she's a racehorse. I'm out for the week, I broke a nail... skydiving of course. Anyway, back to my Krispy Kremes, I'm trying to gain weight. Wingloading ya know. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  21. Not to turn this thread around, but for the record I'm a small girl and any Racer I have tried on has been very UNcomfortable. Another girl my size agreed. The mudflaps are too large, the yoke sits too low and has never been narrow enough (even on their smallest standard harness). I hear this often (how Racers are comfortable) however I'm just throwing this info out there for wee people like myself. In regards to the Wings, they're ok containers in my opinion but certainly not my fave. I don't like their reserve PC, and it seems if riggers place too much bulk toward the top of the bag (ears) then the reserve flap can come open routinely. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  22. I have a Tempo120 in my Mirage MXS (no cypres). Its tight now, with a cypres in there its a brick. Squeezing a PD 126R in there would be very difficult, and it would probably distort the container making it bulky. A 113 would be the largest PD reserve recommended for the MXS. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
