  1. Twice I have seen a landed main parachute with an open rapide link. This is one reason I believe Slinks are better because they prevent this situation from even happening. Of course liability relies on the jumper in both instances for improperly maintaining gear... however a product that provides preventative measures is ultimately 'better' in my opinion. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  2. #1 (it was AFF) but not #2. Its varied from then on... but in general I still strive for result #1. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  3. Hehe, this is true. It was great how he came back and royally kicked our ass! I had SO much fun!!! Thanks everyone for making this thing happen, I learned so much and did I tell you I had a blast? It was cool watching everyone's improvement from beginning to end, considering I coulda used my zone accuracy distance for the first 2 rounds This is going to be a fun year... for a first time swoop comp experience, this has really peaked my interest more than I expected. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  5. Very good point. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  6. I think it fully depends on the individual canopy. I've put over 130 jumps on a Raven I (for BASE), used and abused it and its wonderful. However, I hear some folks complain about the way they fly, especially the Micro Ravens. PD is the best manufactured, strongest reserve on the market and many will agree. Its up to you... if you can afford a PD later on, go for it. They have the most consistent record as far as customer satisfaction and reliability history. I'm cheap, I jump a Tempo And its saved me twice... quite nicely I might add. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  7. Slinky's most def. Less bulk (especially for reserves), don't jam, stronger, and no slider grommet bashing. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com

  11. The 106. Shorter lines, greater snatch force, lighter canopy weight... that's my guess. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  12. I'm working until 4:20... but I'll meet ya'll there then.
  13. Apex still requires a minimum 150 skydives for their FJC. Bridge Day is only 50 but still, parachuting experience required... and for good reason. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  14. Labor Day would be nice, but I've already got plane tickets for Memorial Day. See you there Jaime, even if my Houston crew is abandoning me Planning on arriving around the 26th, then play it by ear from there. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
  15. When you give it to a rigger for a repack, if you don't know them explain the situation. They should make sure and unpack the main for you, and a standard gear inspection of the harness, container and reserve should always be done as part of the repack process... along with flexing your 3-rings and cleaning cutaway cables. Ask him or her questions, you can never know too much about your gear. If you start jumping frequently again, ask them about standard maintenance tips and what to look for in between repack cycles. And welcome back!
  16. YAY! Congrats folks, great news
  17. Ok, if you're a righty then just buy one. Do a little research and buy a decent one at a decent price. Too many options to list out here. Secondly, get lessons or find someone who really knows their shit and copy them. Thats what I did... I'm a lefty so one day I just bought a cheap guitar and mirrored what the righty's did. One day, slowly but surely, it all came together. I bought a couple chord charts, learned the basics and just started strummin. I hear lessons are great but I've never had one, I just picked it up and learned on my own. Its a blast either way, good luck and have fun

    Bird shit

LOL, man all you folks who are now officially 'shitheads' without being jerks are crackin me up. Chaos, I've got a pic on my friends phone that captures an image of my truck about a month ago. I parked under a bare tree (at my house nonetheless) and lo and behold, the next morning I walk outside and find its a new shade of brown. I didn't have time to go through a car wash, so I got the strangest looks all day long while drivin down the road. I go through a car wash the next day (twice) and not a week later, the army bird bombers nailed my shiny white truck again. HAH, couldn't believe it. I'll have my buddy send me the pic and I'll upload. _______________________ aerialkinetics.com
