LOL No, actually I'd rather just Saddam was handed over to the Kurds. If the Republican party puts another candidate forward in the next election or Bush loses that election (just not to Al Bore) that would be enough for me. Actually I reckon Clinton might be re-elected for a third term and this time she'll be the one getting head off interns...

Sorry, I'm just a bit pissed off that that gung-ho trigger happy John Wayne wannabe idiot seems intent on going to war - I don't really think he wants a peaceful resolution. Maybe he thinks a showdown at the OK corral will draw voters' attention away from the mess he is making of the economy. Will PS America still has a significant military presence in South Korea and had failed armed forays into the other two.

Power companies dicating your state's laws and regulations? Impossible! Next you'll be telling me oil companies can dictate your country's foreign policies...

Yeah, buddy, and just like Korea, Vietnam and Somalia I bet you fuck them up real good!

I've been jumping a PC9 for a while, just bought a second hand PC7 to top mount for filming FS. I don't really think the market is that dynamic - people will still be jumping PC9s, PC120s etc for a very long time. Even if it just had about five Sony models in it I reckon it might be of use. Just because Sony doesn't make the older models anymore (eg PC7) doesn't mean there isn't a need for reviews for those cameras - lots of people buy second hand. Will

2K's - FFX Helmet and Lens Questions
skreamer replied to MichelleRichard's topic in Photography and Video
I have an FF2 helmet. Check out the attachment to see how I protect my lens (particularly for climb out from C206 and from riser slaps). You have to bear in mind that if the lens gets slapped off there is considerable damage to the camera where it snaps off. I bought this lens protector from another camera flyer in the UK who got them custom made. Will -

Hi there There are so many discussions of the merits of the various cameras available in the Photography forum, can't you include a section in the gear reviews for cameras? It would make it that much easier for someone looking to buy a camera, rather than having to ask the same questions in the Photography forum again and again. I'm thinking mostly of video cameras here, maybe stills too? Will

I've done about 52 coach jumps, but I'm still crap. Last year I did 35 in 4 days which was very very stupid. Jumping back to back, coach jumps can be good because you can go back immediately and try it again. However in future I would not do more than about five coach jumps in one day. You can only take in so much, and basically when you are spending that much and not improving it just stops being fun. Definitely alternate coach jumps with fun jumps. I will definitely be getting more coaching, but will be a bit more sensible about it. Will

Almost saved up enough for the chop huh, Adrienne?

Consider yourself demoted to second in the list...

Good story, but why was he carrying a water-gun?

You kiss your mother with that mouth???

As a guesstimate, what would you say is the average age of most active BASE jumpers today? Also, what do you think is the average age at which most of today's active BASE jumpers did their first BASE jump? I know this will mostly just be speculation and I'm sure some researcher has tried to work out the demographic (predominantly young, white and male etc), was just curious. Will

You are how old??? I knew you had shit-loads of jumps, but I reckon you might just have made it to the top of my most envied/hated list...

Yeah well, 5 000 people die of Aids related illness every day. How stupid of them, maybe if they died in a more spectacular fashion the rest of the world would give a shit...

Ditto re. Wings customer service. I contacted Heather re. riser inserts for my Wings. Got posted to London - no charge, no problem. My second rig is going to be another Wings. Maybe other manufacturers' customer service is just as good, I don't know because I've got no reason to find out... Will

Why, I have no idea what you are referring to Ivan... Will PS yes that is the bridle over my right thigh...

There was just a discussion about this in a thread in the Photography forum. From what I read there, seems you want to be careful what material you give the TV types (they want sensation and we don't want the sport being portrayed in a negative way). You also need to make sure what your rights are once they have the material (ie if they were to sell it on to another show, or release it as part of a DVD). According to quade the going rate is $700US per minute or any part thereof, which seems reasonable. Of course, if they want comedy they could always use my premature exit...

Yeah, thats why I bought an FF2. 150 jumps with it later I am still happy. The price has come down and they now fit it with a nice chincup. For freeflying alone the FFX is OK, but if you should ever want to film FS or tandems not having easy access to the camera could be an issue. Also, these helmets are really strong. I had a fatass pilot step on my helmet (resting upside down). The strap was done up, he tore the strap but absolutely no bending or buckling of the helmet itself. 2K also supply stroboframes and some really nice sights and mounts (moose/Ian Silman's I believe). Will PS the helmet was where it was supposed to be - the pilot wasn't...

4 quid?? That would be happy hour in London... Found the DZ website - bit far to drive, plus £16 for '10 000 is a bit steep for me (yes, yes, you can call my £4 pint a poof now...)
-
Yes, he's at Sebastian (Florida) at the moment. If you go to Skane its his home DZ in the summer. You can do a tandem there rather cheaply. Adrian films tandems there, maybe he could film yours. Might be a good idea before you lay out the cash for AFF. PM me if you want his or Katarina's email addresses. Will PS just edited to add, you might think he is a nutter from some of his achievements, but he is probably one of the most safety conscious skydivers around. I did 35 coach jumps with him and really learnt a lot in terms of safety (gear, aircraft emergencies, exits, breakoffs, canopy control etc etc). I attended a safety seminar that he presented at another Swedish DZ (Skydive Syd) - really good shit. Of course behind the wheel of his rally car, he IS a nutter...
