    1. They don't run on petrol. 2. They cost VERY little to operate. They have a range of 17 miles. So, if your commute is less than that, not only will they save you time (riding on the pavement as opposed to stuck in traffic) but in the long run will actually save you money (they cost a couple of cents per day to run). In London the average speed of traffic is 5mph, a lot of other cities worldwide have congestion problems too. I could definitely see a market for these doodahs. Will
  2. Could any of you who were at the Kenya boogie, shed some light on the landing incident that took place at the end of the boogie? Thanks Will
  3. So do Basic Research and Consolidated Rigging
  4. So, how is the job in sales going?
  5. Yes, which is why I didn't come on here bashing reflexes, racers and dolphins either. I am really glad for you that you can afford to make that many jumps a year - I am sure you are a great skydiver. But for those who can't afford to buy a top rig AND make a lot of jumps, surely buying a cheaper (yet still freefly friendly) rig and using the money they saved to pay for jump tickets would be a good idea? I'd rather buy a cheaper (still safe) rig and make 200 jumps a year, than blow all my money on a top rig and only be able to afford to do 50 jumps a year. Like I said, I am glad you can afford one of the most expensive rigs out there and still afford to jump a lot - just bear in mind that a lot of others can't. And just because they can't afford the most expensive rig does not mean that they (and their rig!) are not safe. Will
  6. Fucking hell, Jim, where have YOU been??? Man, since you stopped sending me porn my inbox has been way boring.... How's the back, brother?
  7. I've lived in the UK for 6 years now and I've never heard that. Sure, they call cigarettes fags, but 'blow' a fag??? I think someone was 'blowing' smoke up your arse/ass... One thing I couldn't understand in California was how much the sentence "You know what?" gets used. Because as soon as they've said "You know what?" they promptly tell you whatever they were going to say anyway. Weird man...
  8. I'd have thought answering the door naked would make the weaponry a given...
  9. And judging by the jump numbers in your profile, you are just another joe schmoe giving his personal suggestions. Drop the pompous attitude pal, you're not impressing anybody. Will
  10. Is that it? You're not going to offer him an old canopy to go away for a month? How about just an old PC, can you at least offer him that? Jeez, you can't just send the dude away empty handed....
  11. Chris, can I be the charity of your choice?
  12. Be careful Stevieboy : The Teardrop is made by PISA under license from Thomas Sports, but it does not have its TSO rating yet (the TSE Teardrop does). I know you cannot jump the PISA Teardrop in the UK. PISA have applied for the rating, but at present you cannot jump the PISA teardrop in the UK. I don't know about the states or elsewhere, but you might want to check first. There is a discussion about this on PISA's web-site (www.pisa.co.za). Check there. I quote the following from the PISA forum : BTW I have about 290 jumps on a Hornet '150 loaded at 1.3:1 - I liked it but you have to take care with your packing. Sloppy packing resulted in the occassional spanking. Will
  13. Patric de Gayardon The greatest skydiver ever. FS Freefly Wing-suits Skysurfing BASE jumping The general public knew him through his ads for Sector watches (like the time he flew into the grand canyon with his wingsuit). Or the time he BASE jumped the Angel falls with his Stiletto because he'd lent his BASE rig out. Also the first man to BASE jump wearing a wingsuit. As an all-rounder and innovator, natural flyer and visionary I believe he was the greatest. He was only 38 when he died, imagine what he would've come up with if he was still alive today? Will
  14. Don't even bother with the UK. I've got some friends who work in the sport full-time here and they are going very hungry right now. Seems like what you need is a busy DZ where they jump year round. Empuria would be the obvious answer. The states is probably out of the question (work permit, insurance etc.). But at least you have a trade you can fall back on when the pickings are lean. Personally I don't want to depend on skydiving for my full-time income. Might lose some of the pleasure - ever notice how the fun jumpers always seem happiest to be in the plane? How many tandems are you going to film/jump before the novelty wears off and it becomes just a job? Will
  15. Here is a pic of the FF2 taken from their web-site : www.2kcomposites.com I've got one, used it for about 150 jumps. As you can see it does have a flat top to mount another camera. These helmets are really strong. I wasn't happy with the chincup that came with mine (like the one in the pic) so bought a Bonehead chincup. I have recently heard from the manufacturers though that they have made a better one and will supply it to people unhappy with the old one. The price for the FF2 is in the region of about £320 (about $480US). Will
  16. I don't think there is much point in suing Clay - I think he has even less money than me.. (which is zero)
  17. I might not be AOL's biggest fan, but boy am I happy about this victory in court. It might not affect the amount of spam I receive but it is good to know that companies responsible for spam are being held accountable (where possible). Will
  18. Not if evilivan was filming you, then your name would be 'Team NJ'.
  19. Nice pics Carl! (still can't believe this doting daddy is the same guy who wrote that dark lesbian love story though... )
  20. Were you wearing a camerasuit or freeflysuit when filming this tandem? Have you ever had problems with pilot chute hesitation before? What size is your PC and how many jumps has it done? Will
  21. lol How the hell do you think I ended up in California in the first place???
  22. i is not stoopid, u + klay is stopid
  23. Hey JP Whassup man? We did some 2-ways back in March last year at Skydance (you were giving me some RW coaching). You still working at Actionair? Will
