  1. In the counseling profession we know that advice never works. Remember, free advice is worth what you pay for it. A question came to mind, how do you tell the difference between false hope and real hope? What is this? Another question? Yet, you still have not answered my question! Typical. I reckon I had false hope that you would. GLORY BE THE ALMIGHTY LEPRECHAUN! HE IS THE TRUTH AND THE WAY! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  2. Yet, you can't (refuse to) answer the question I ask? Oddly, I expect no less from the religious. You people have never been able to offer anything logical. Advise, not false hope. Just now, I am watching the morning news. They are reporting on Russell and Rebecca Porter whose remains were found a few days ago. For several months, religious leaders have been putting out there that "God" is protecting them. "God" will bring them home safe. Now that it is clear that no such "God" is protecting them or going to bring them home, they are now saying that "God" led the police to the bodies to bring closure for the families. Now, it is "God's will" that these two be brought to him to "bask in the glory of the Lord!" What a crock of shit. So, "God" had someone murder these people so that they may "bask in the glory of the Lord?" God is false hope and not attached to the reality of life. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  3. Johnson may be a shoe-in to get the "stoner" vote. No more than that. Like Ron Paul, Johnson is blunt and to the point. This seems to confuse those who are too use to hearing bullshit. Truth tends to scramble the minds of those caught up in the rhetoric that is spewed by the RWC favorites. Paul and Johnson just makes to much sense. Now that's a ticket I'd like to see, Paul and Johnson(or Johnson and Paul.) "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  4. One can just as easily say that the power of leprechauns delivered him/her from the grip of alcohol/drugs. As with saying that a "God" delivered them, there is no "evidence" that the "Almighty Leprechaun" changed ones life. Would you not question such a claim? Or, would you look at them and say "why yes, you have changed! GLORY BE THE ALMIGHTY LEPRECHAUNS!" I doubt that you would. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  5. I agree. I wish that these yahoos would, also. http://www.biblicalscholarship.net/year1s.htm The first paragraph in the above link is enough to make one split their side laughing. No intelligent person could ever take crap like that serious. It should never be shoved into a developing mind. This one should be on Comedy Central. http://www.ecreationscience.com/Classes.html Arkansas = Stupidity http://www.apsrc.net/NewsLetter/NewsletterDisplay.asp?p1=205&p2=Y&Sort= The bible is not science. It is not history. At the most, it is creative writing. If they wish to use it in a creative writing class, I might be fine with that. 7. I love how the left proclaims Reagan to be an idiot with Alzheimers until they need to drag him out to try and make a point. Idiot? Possibly not. Traitor? Possibly, yes. Sold weapons to the enemy (Iran). Used illegal funds from weapons sales and drug sales (if questioned, just say no!) to fund a civil war in Nicaragua. http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/americanexperience/features/general-article/reagan-iran/ http://www.gwu.edu/~nsarchiv/NSAEBB/NSAEBB2/nsaebb2.htm "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." 8. No..., but you do have a damn good chance at being elected to congress! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  9. Actually, it does. Next, I suppose, you will tell me that a day to God is a 1000 years! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  10. You answered 33 out of 33 correctly — 100.00 % If you have any comments or questions about the quiz, please email americancivicliteracy@isi.org. You can consult the following table to see how citizens and elected officials scored on each question. Surprised at how little some people know of their own government. Particularly, elected officials. I could never get elected with a score of 100%. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  11. Honestly, I have read the bible (KJV) from cover to cover, in 1995. I did so after being diagnosed with HIV when I returned from nearly a year in Mexico (messed around with a number of red-light ladies. Clearly, my own fault.) I do accept that the over-all message in the NT of love, acceptance, and respect for each other is what each human should extend to each and every other. However, the message in the OT is not the same. If anything, the church would do well to omit it from their lessons. I find the story of creation to be implausible, if not completely unbelievable. I tend to lean towards the latter. As I also do concerning the the story of Jesus. That is not to say that Jesus did not exist, only that I do not believe that he was the son of a god. Yet, that should not detract from the message. Although, the same message can be found in older writings and from other/older civilizations. As for how and when the universe came into existence, the theories put forth in the astronomical community are far more plausible. 12. I guess that would depend on whether he was acting like a fucking dick when he revealed himself.... I mean, if he caused me to spill hot coffee in my lap or something... And... you just may have a personal injury lawsuit against the The Almighty. Just in case, you might want to contact Andy or Lawrocket. 13. Keep exploring and stay away from places that teach what you just said. That is some pretty scary stuff. God is a lot more than a collection of petty misinterpreted doctrines. Start at the begining, "God is Love" ... I love reading books on physics and I am a big fan of Brian Greene. One of my favorite books is "The Elegant Universe." Timothy Ferris's "The Whole Bang" and Trinh Xuan Thuan's "Chaos and Harmony" are two other books that lay out our universe in understandable terms. You should read them. They may change your view, or at least give you food for thought. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  14. The fact that you and I agree, on anything, is proof alone that there is no god. What god would allow that!!!!!! That makes two things. Hell, if we ever met we'd probably have more in common than either of us think. Most of my friends have completely different views. The majority believe in God. If we all believed the same, debate would be boring. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  15. It does not give a specific age. It does provide a chronological timeline that puts the age of the planet at roughly 6500 years old. Using the timeline from the "first day", the day that Adam was "created" and the age when he died (about 930 years old ), along with the genealogy of those descending from him (as ages are given) the OT spans roughly 4000-4500 years. The supposing death of Christ happened 2011 years ago. This would place the age of the planet at roughly 6000-6500+ years. 16. The fact that you and I agree, on anything, is proof alone that there is no god. What god would allow that!!!!!! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  17. There is no proof of any such god. On the other hand, there is proof that the bible is wrong about a lot, e.g. age of the planet, humankind, and natural disaster. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  18. I prefer to use my mind and the evidence that, so far, has been presented. To date, we know that the bible is wrong as to the age of the planet. We know that humankind is far older than what the bible claims. We know that dinosaurs out date humans (no mention of them in the bible.) We know that the planet has never flooded over. We know that there is no heaven above us, but a vast, seemingly endless, universe surrounding our planet. We know that the planet earth and all on it was not created in six days. To date, all evidence is against the existence of any deity. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  19. The guy is a moron filing a frivolous lawsuit. All he had to do is check to see what is available (as I just did.) A number of "PALIN" combo's are available, as a number of combos are not. https://dmvapp.nv.gov/dmv/vr/plateav/plateav_input.aspx "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." My biggest gripe is the moron that does everything possible to get in front of everyone else, and then slows down below the speed limit. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  21. If he was considered, he probably failed his piss test for reefer. Old Louie was a life long reefer smoker. http://www.npr.org/programs/specials/hotter/interview.html SIMON: I do have to ask you about a devotion in the life of Louis Armstrong, marijuana? I guess from a fairly early age he probably had it every day of his life. He believed in it. BERGREEN: Yes, he did. This is one of the more difficult things about him to understand. He always -- often said that he was old enough to remember when booze was illegal and pot was legal because of course he came of age in the Prohibition era in the 1920s. And the idea was -- and he was not wholly mistaken at that time -- that it was healthy. Well, it was healthier than toxic moonshine, which was making other jazz musicians sick and even killing them. And he felt that it relaxed him a lot. So even though he got into trouble with the law a few years later for possession of marijuana, he continued to use it in very heavy quantities, you know, three cigar-sized joints a day, at least, throughout his life. Now, this did have a long-term harmful effect. I think if you talk to a doctor, they'll tell you that that amount of heavy, chronic marijuana use will have a bad effect on your lungs, for starters, and Louis did indeed suffer lung problems in his last -- later years, and couldn't blow for a long period as a result. Correct. That is exactly what I am saying. Let's say traffic is flowing at 80mph, but the posted limit is 60mph. The person driving at 60mph would not be in the wrong. If ticketed, the person would win in court as he/she were not beyond the maximum posted limit for that road. There is no legal leeway above the limit, as there is for under. Although, most do go with the flow. It is usually the last vehicle in a given group of speeders that gets the ticket. I already said that I agree with you. My statement: "You are correct, if one is driving under the posted speed limit when conditions are favorable for the posted limit." I think you are just misinterpreting what I wrote. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

Wrong. In CA it is against the law to impede the flow of traffic. In many cases it is a tell tale sign of driving under the influence. Sparky http://dmv.ca.gov/pubs/vctop/d11/vc21654.htm You are correct, if one is driving under the posted speed limit when conditions are favorable for the posted limit. However, one can never legally drive faster than the posted limit. Let's say that the flow of traffic is moving at the posted limit of 45mph. I am driving at 45mph as is the care ahead of me and the car ahead of them and so on... I cannot legally speed up to 50mph in order to pass a vehicle that is moving at the posted limit. Likewise, if the vehicle ahead of me is moving at 30mph in a 45mph zone, I can speed up to the 45mph limit, but no faster, to pass. http://dmv.ca.gov/pubs/hdbk/speed_limits.htm And now for something funny... Sitting on the side of the expressway waiting to catch speeding drivers, a State Police Officer sees a car puttering along at 22 MPH. He thinks to himself, "This driver is just as dangerous as a speeder!" So he turns on his lights and pulls the driver over. Approaching the car, he notices that there are five old ladies, two in the front seat and three in the back, wide eyed and white as ghosts. The driver, obviously confused, says to him, "Officer, I don't understand, I was doing exactly the speed limit! What seems to be the problem?" "Ma'am," the officer replies, "You weren't speeding, but you should know that driving slower than the speed limit can also be a danger to other drivers." "Slower than the speed limit? No sir, I was doing the speed limit exactly twenty-two miles an hour!" the old woman says a bit proudly. The State Police officer, trying to contain a chuckle explains to her that "22" was the route number, not the speed limit. A bit embarrassed, the woman grinned and thanked the officer for pointing out her error. "But before I let you go, Ma'am, I have to ask… Is everyone in this car OK? These women seem awfully shaken and they haven't muttered a single peep this whole time," the officer asks. "Oh, they'll be all right in a minute officer. We just got off Route 142." 25. Revelation 21:8 King James Version (KJV) 8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Can you say that you will never tell a lie (or had told a lie), have sex with a woman who is not your wife, murder another person or commit any "sin" in your lifetime? You cannot! It is impossible to predict, with absolute accuracy, what one will do in the future. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
