  1. Well, consider that the sun is but a yellow dwarf star (the only star in our solar system), it does have a life cycle. Our star has been around for roughly 5 billion years and will last for another 5 to 7 billion years. The life cycle of a yellow dwarf is roughly 10 billion years. 100 billion years? Not going to happen. You should consider cleaning your own room. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  2. I predict the world will end some time in the future. I am so certain that I am right, I should start a religion around this. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  3. I just say let's give em' the right to burn their hippie lettuce instead...maybe that'll kick start their patriotism. Well, consider that hemp was used for well over 100 years to make the U.S. flag..., until the marijuana tax stamp act "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  4. Show me how people are using welfare money to buy drugs? In the past welfare was doled out in the form of a check. That system was widely abused. The State debit card addressed this issue of abuse. The debit card allows for only certain items to be purchased. Hence, no tobacco, alcohol (the most widely abused drug in the U.S.), or non-nutritional food items. It does allow for hygiene products, but no DVD rentals or any other type of entertainment items. Also, who is to say that the marijuana (or other drugs such as alcohol, tobacco, or crack) was purchased with a welfare debit card? As far as I know, drug dealers do not accept this type of payment. Also, one most produce identification to use the cards. This is "feel good, I'm tough on crime" knee jerk legislation that has been kicked around for more than 20 years. I say, let's drug test politicians on a daily basis. Not only for drugs, but for alcohol, tobacco products, as well as for unhealthy, fattening food. A fair number of them in MO. have been busted over the years. They receive tax dollars, they need to be held to a higher standard if they wish to test the rest of us and stay in their cushioned jobs. 5. Be safe and have a great weekend yourself
  6. Mostly, it would accomplish nothing. Most recipients are single parent households. If a mother pops positive for THC, the denial of funds would take food from the mouths of her children. As welfare benefits are no longer doled out in the form of a check, but a debit card that can not be transferred and used only for certain food items the only people who would benefit from such a law is the drug testing industry. Such laws would be a boom for said industry. Those who would stand to lose are the people who will be paying for the test - the taxpayers. 7. Absolutely. I have a flag that I got from my old ship, the USS Okinawa LPH-3 (decommissioned and sunk to become an artificial reef.) I was welding up on the signal bridge when they were replacing it. I asked what they were going to do with it. They said the flag was to be burned. I asked for it and it was turned over to me. That flag was flown on my ship while we off the coast of Iran during the Iranian Crisis. I cherish that flag. Even more, I cherish what it stands for. No one has a right to burn this particular flag as it is my personal property. If a person wishes to burn a flag, they should go buy one and then do as they please with it. It saddens me, but they have that right. Besides, China will make more. My flag was made right here in the USA and it flew proudly on the Proud Lady of the Pacific, the USS Okinawa, LPH-3. I love my country and I love my flag. Even more, I love the rights that my flag stands for. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  8. I never passed such judgement. Here, I'll post what I wrote, "If so, that would make you a criminal and not worthy to wear a uniform in our military." Comprehension, it's a beautiful thing. Kindly learn to comprehend, before you open your mouth. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  9. I'm not sure about the porn, but after seeing the size of his banana clip, I'll assert that he was over-compensating for a short barrel. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  10. First off, addressing your post to myself, I did not call you anything. Second, addressing this posting of yours, I burn the American flag, at least, once a week. A few days ago, a flyer came in the mail that had the American flag on it. I looked at it and saw that it was an advertisement for some cable company. I crumpled it up and tossed it in the garbage. It went into the burn can and was burned with the rest of the garbage. Would you try and hurt me for burning a symbol on my own property? Do you realize that I have the right to defend myself against an act of aggression upon myself by a person attempting to do bodily harm to me on my own property? http://www.moga.mo.gov/statutes/C500-599/5630000031.HTM Even so, outside my property I have the right to protect myself from an aggressor. You, on the other hand, have zero rights to attack another person. You have absolutely no rights in this matter. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  11. Funny how I didn't even take a position on this. And you just throw up a funny word mixing the words "conservative" and "retarded" and creating a hybrid called "conservetard" - implying that someone with conservative values is also mentally retarded. Thank you for your substantive contribution to the internet . That word has been around long before it was used here on dz.com and the internet. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  12. So, you are willing to assault and cause bodily harm or even kill a person for exercising their right to burn a flag? If so, that would make you a criminal and not worthy to wear a uniform in our military. I don't like it when someone burns the flag, but I did not join the military to protect the flag. I joined to protect the rights of the people, regardless of what those rights are. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  13. I have a copy of the Grateful Dead covering that song. Awesome, "We don't take our trips on LSD" I forgot about that one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DvA1ueZO_0 And of course the response to Merle's classic. It's a cover, but a good one. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1S692Flnd9k "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  14. He wasn't a "hippie", just because a bunch of people called him that. But the fact that, trying to be pejorative, those people called him a term that has been out of date for almost 40 years speaks volumes about them. Whatever makes the self-righteous feel good about themselves. Something like Merle Haggard singing about being an Okie from Muskogee while shoveling cocaine up his nose. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  15. Why stop there? Let's slide further down the slippery slope and do roadside drug testing. Pop positive and lose your drivers license for a year. Just think how much safer the roads will be after taking 100 million pot smokers out from behind the wheel. Let's go even further down the slide and test people who ride bicycles to work. Let's get them off of the bike paths that our taxes pay for. And why stop there? There has to be several hundred more reasons to test the entire population. You know, we got to keep the sheep in the line. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  16. He could be considered a scapegoat, much in the way that Lt. Calley was for the My Lai Massacre. Calley served less than 5 years for the charge of premeditated murder of 22 civilians, although 300 to 500 women and children were slaughtered. Calley claimed he was just following orders. He may had been doing just that, as the Pentagon wanted numbers at any cost. An 18 month cover up followed the massacre. As stated: Some have argued that the outcome of the My Lai courts-martial was a reversal of the laws of war that were set forth in the Nuremberg and Tokyo War Crimes Tribunals. Secretary of the Army Howard Callaway was quoted in the New York Times as stating that Calley's sentence was reduced because Calley honestly believed that what he did was a part of his orders—a rationale that stands in direct contradiction of the standards set at Nuremberg and Tokyo, where German and Japanese soldiers were executed for similar acts. Demjanjuk may had been just been following "orders". Billvons statement is correct. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  17. Who is "them" ... ? Uhhhh.... those people over there. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  18. I highly doubt that 99.9% of them could point out their own country on a map, let alone find a 6'4"-6" terrorist across the road from a military installation. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  19. Patriots? Now, that is funny. If those kids want to call themselves patriots, how about they enlist and actually serve their country instead of interfering with someones freedom of speech. Now, I do not agree with burning flags, books, or other items to get reaction, but the 1st amendment allows such expression. It goes against what our country stands for to infringe on the right to do so. Same with the pastor who burned a Koran, I do not agree and think better judgement should prevail. The kid who wanted to burn a flag should use better judgement. And I would hardly call him a hippie. I guess that just makes the others feel better about themselves. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  20. I really would not give a fuck if pro-sports came to an end. I get tired of hearing them constantly complaining about not making enough money or that they have poor health benefits (imagine that, millionaires complaining about health benefits.) Or, billionaires demanding that the taxpayers build them a new stadium or they will move their team to another city that will give them more money. I haven't been to a pro-sport game since the baseball lockout. It is really stupid to give your hard earned money to millionaires so to watch millionaires play a game. 21. I took a round off of the left side of my head back in '86. I was about 6' from the guy when he leveled his gun on me and pulled the trigger. I never even heard the gun go off, but i sure as hell felt the impact as the round grazed my skull. Wasn't much of a wound, but it was a hell of a bleeder. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  22. An email reminding him that his membership in the Pork Association is about to expire. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  23. Oh, I see... anyway, you're probably Hell bound for mocking the greatest scam of all time. Don't worry, never fear for salvation is near! For a small donation to the Church of Tax Free Faith, I can guarantee your salvation. Please keep in mind that cash will put you to the front of the line as we will not have to wait for your check to clear. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  24. Doesn't need to be a lot, just enough to keep the shyster "preacher" in benjamins. I'm all for the 1st Amendment, but when it comes to shit like this, I think there ought to be an exception where shysters can get the crap beat out of them. The site itself is a farce. The creator of the site says so himself. He's probably laughing at all of the threads that are popping up to discuss it. Religion is a legitimate business. Big money for anyone who wants to jump on-board the money train and take the gullible for a ride. I should start a religion. I'll be more than blessed to take money from fools. I can offer several levels of salvation. For a very large donation, I can even guarantee you a seat at the table of the big guy himself! "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  25. I don't have the time nor do I even give a fuck to point out the many contradictions in the book of magical people. Feel free to do a Google search. There are others who had took the time to list the vast number of contradictions. Annnnnnd go.... "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black."
