  1. Giulliani? you must joking!! Mr. Family morals who had an affair and dumped his wife. The guy cann't even practice what he preaches. He is a self absorbed media hound. If that billyclub stroking bastard ever becomes president, I'll leave the USA for the duration of his stint. 2. 12 years old in 72? and you were in DaNang when 18 in 1978? Am I missing something here? I joined the Navy in 1979 when I was 19 (I take it we are about the same age) and as far as I know we were not fighting the VC in the late 70's and certianly not in DaNang. If I am wrong fill me in. 4. I do not know about Canada, but America was not founded on christian principles. The majority of the founding fathers were not even christian and rejected christianity but embraced Deism. To hear the christians tell it, we are a christian nation. Not so. It appears that way only because they are so out spoken and try to inject their unfounded belief into every aspect of our lives. Even the guy they call president believes that god is working through him. What a nutcase. One look at how the US conducts itself and it is appearant that they use christianity only to justify its actions. I personally reject christianity on the fact that is unfounded hogwash and its history is one of the most violent of all religions. 5. Superkat, this happened in 1990, I was much younger and real cocky. I could had been cordial and not had told him to fuck himself. That didn't help the matter. But, he did pill me over, as I believe only on my looks, that and being in a drug area. Dawsons Engineering has been in Wellston since the 60's. Long before it turned ghetto. All I had to do is ask if I was under arrest. If he said no, then I could had just left. But, also being an asshole myself, I had to go and open my mouth and make matters worst. I should had just asked one simple question and left. Chances are that is as far as it would had went. For the record, these days it is "yes sir and no sir". Things go much smoother when you are being nice. They respect that. And there are some very fine people in law enforcement. One cop that I will never forget is Detective Fellows of the San Diego PD. More than 6 months after my beloved Les Paul got stolen when my house was robbed, he brought her back to me. He was actually actively looking for it. As for what happened in Wellston, well, it is Wellston and you would have to be familier with the area and the PD to understand how they are. The Wellston police department is an old apartment building on the second floor right above a liquor store . They are as kangaroo as they come and get the guys who could not get hired anywhere else. That being said, most cops I have met have not been bad or treated me like crap. Be nice to them and most likely you will walk away with no hassle. 6. Whom the US abandoned thus giving Bin Laden and his buddies another reason to hate us. Yup Uncle Sammy was in bed with terrorist (Bin Laden and a good number of others got their training from the CIA), as long as they were fighting someone Sammy didn't like. Same with Saddam. Truth is, the US HAS supported terrorism worldwide, only Sammy calls them "Freedom Fighters". That is untill they are no longer needed and then they are called "terrorist. 7. That is what most people believe. I have had this discussion with my nephew, Kansas City police officer. He says they have no right to detain a person unless they are actually investigating a crime and you are wanted for questioning. He said all you need to do is ask if you are under arrest, if the answer is "no", then say goodbye and drive away. If the cop follows you and stops you again for no apparrent reason then it is harrasment and you can file a charge against the officer for doing such. It is good to have cops in the family as you get all the pointers on how to "Just Say No" to a cop who is being an asshole. 8. Yup, never, ever let them search. I got pulled over in Wellston, Mo., a municipality in St. Louis county and well known drug area. The racecar shop where I kept my 57 chevy is located in this area. I was about a mile from the shop when I was stopped for no other reason other than my long hair as I believe (profiling). The cop asked some stupid questions and then asked if he could search my car. I said "NO". He asked why not. I told him he didn't have the right. He said if I had nothing to hide then I should not have a problem with him searching my car. I told him to go fuck himsellf. I was detained and he called for the dog. Long story short, about 6 cop cars and 10 cops plus a K9 unit showed up and after 2-3 hours of bullshit, not to mention them wasting the taxpayers money plus their time and mine, I was allowed to leave. I should had sued the stupid fucks. The asshole cop told me I could had saved everyone alot of trouble had I let him search. I made a point of it to give the stupid little wannabeacop the finger everytime I saw him on my way to the shop. It is not against the law to flip off a cop (although, in most cases, not a good idea). In hindsight, I should had just drove off as I was not under arrest. Family members who do work in law have advised just ask if you are under arrest. If the answer is no, then just drive off. They cannot hold you. 9. The USA wants to bring democracy (nee freedom) to the world.*** You're only as free as the Federal Government of the United States says you are. Any country (or person) that does not bow down and kiss the ass of the Feds is considered an enemy. Evil doers (little Georgie Bush's words, not mine). Unless these countries bow down and praise the Federals as the Almighty God of Everything they can expect to remain on Little Georgies list of the "Axis of Evil" and should not be surprise if one day they get the "Shock and Awe" treatment. Yup, that worked real good in Iraq. Ah yes, Iraq, a shining example of democracy in action. And, let's not forget Afghanistan, now the leading exporter of cheap heroin. Personally I feel it has nothing to do with democracy, per say, as it has more to do with world domination and everyone being able to see that the US Federal Government is in fact Gods favorite government and he hates all the rest. Ask Little Georgie, I am sure he'll tell you that God works his wonderous ways through the Federal Government. 10. No problem with businesses doing business within other countries, but selling off the land to foriegn interest... something just does not seem right with that. There is a sale tag on everything in the US. A number of countries do not allow outside interest to own the property they establish factories and office space on. It should be that way here in the US. I am sure that the UAE most likely holds the deeds on a large number of property in the US. Does any Americans own property in Arabia or is it only held in trust like in Mexico. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  11. The United States is for sale to the highest bidder. To much of this country is owned by other countries. One of these days they are going to hit us with an eviction notice. America should be owned by Americans and Americans only. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  12. Some are calling this a miracle of god. When there are so many needy childern in the world, why not adopt. What are doctors thinking by performing in vitro fertilization on a woman of this age? This is not a miracle, just medical science. What are people (women and men) thinking to want more childern at such an age. Growing up I had a friend whose father was over 70 by the time he was 13 (the mother was around 40). It was abit strange as his dad was older than everyone elses grandparents. I guess, if people want to keep having kids into their retirement years, that's their own thing. I just find it to be abit odd when there are so many kids who are in need of parents. (AP) A 62-year-old woman gave birth to a healthy 6-pound, 9-ounce baby boy, becoming one of the oldest women in the world to successfully bear a child. The newborn is the 12th child of Janise Wulf, who has been blind since birth. She is a grandmother of 20 and great-grandmother of three. Family members said the delivery at Mercy Medical Center went smoothly Friday, despite earlier concerns about the mother's health. Wulf, a diabetic, experienced swelling and higher blood pressure earlier this week, prompting doctors to perform a Caesarean section a week early. "I believe our only hesitation collectively was her health and her coming through this. Giving birth is hard at any age, in any body, let alone with her being 62," Wulf's 28-year-old daughter, Desiree Myers, told the Redding Record Searchlight newspaper. Myers gave birth to a baby of her own four months ago. Wulf and her third husband, Scott, 48, named the red-haired boy, Adam Charles Wulf. He follows just 3 1/2 years behind his older brother, Ian. "I hate to raise one alone, without a sibling," said Wulf, who was impregnated both times through in vitro fertilization. Wulf has given birth to a total of 12 children, although one son died in his 30s and another died at birth with undeveloped lungs. Of her 10 living children, the oldest is 40. 16. There is nothing pseudo about the research being done with cannbinoids to treat illnesses such as cancer, MS, AIDS and number of others. The Federal government funded such research and only when the research showed promise did the Feds scrap the research. The Feds were hoping that the research would fail. I do not "spew" rhetoric. I stay on top of what is going on as I need to in order to be able to make the best choice to fight an illness that will eventually kill me. I looked at your profile and see that you work for the insurance industry. I have no love for that industry at all and see it as a scam that works only for profit and to keep medication out of the hands of people who truely need it. You should hope that you never get sick enough where a drug like cannabis would be a godsend. If you do, you should call the "law" and report yourself if you were to need cannabis in order to increase appetitte, curb nausea, decrease pain... I can imagine you reporting your own family members if any of them were to use cannabis to help with an illness. It is not about getting "high". It is about being able to carry on a normal life without wasting away from not eating or throwing up the food you force yourself to eat. It is about being able to get about without pain. Don't tell me that there are "legal drugs" that one can use. The drugs that the pharmetcutical companies push often lead to more drugs that they push. Drugs to counter side effects. At one point I was eating more than 20 pills at a time. Only four of them were for AIDS, the rest were to counter side effects. To hell with that. Try that twice a day. Cannabis relieved me of crap the pharmetcutical company was pushing. Of course you would know nothing about what it is like, otherwise you would not spew your self rightous rhetoric. I really do not care what the government says as what they say is all lies. I care about being able to stay alive and live a normal live. You should take Thomas Jefferson's quote out of your sig-line as it is appearant that you do not believe it. If Jefferson was alive today he would be pro-cannabis. I highly recommend that you read up on cannabis research and stop spewing the same rhetoric as the Feds. You sound like a broken record. 17. Great. Now use your right to engage the democratic process to attempt to bring about change in the policy. Until then, expect to be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law should you be caught breaking said law. Given the overwhelming amount of evidence to the healing property of mj it is highly unethical for the Federal government to hold back this medication from those in need while at the same time have no problem with the highly toxic and addictive narcotics that are used. When will they stop screaming "What kind of message is this sending to the children". They don't scream this about morphine or oxycontin or while they are shoving ritalin down a childs throat. Furthurmore, it should be a crime imprison sick and dying people for using to get relief from the pain of illness. I do write letters to my congressman. I do support the medical marijuana lobby. I do tell others that this plant is more than a party herb. This plant may very well be the cure for a number of types of cancers. The government has known this for 30 years, yet, they refuse to let go of the lies that they pump into society. It is hard to believe that some people still believe the lies. Marijuana has never killed anyone. Marijuana is not addictive. Marijuana does not lead to heroin. Marijuana does not cause brain damage. Marijuana does not make people violent. The greatest danger in using is the government itself. It is ironic that the very government that wish to stop all research and eradicate this plant, it's own constitution is written on hemp and the founding fathers encouraged the production of hemp. George Washington as well as Jefferson was known to smoke it for medicinal purpose and possibly recreation as well. The crime is a government that will not tell the truth and would rather see people suffer than to help with the advancement of this great plant. Google "marijuana cancer cure" , read the evidence and shrug off ignorance. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young

  19. Cannabinoids As Cancer Hope by Paul Armentano Senior Policy Analyst NORML | NORML Foundation “Cannabinoids possess … anticancer activity [and may] possibly represent a new class of anti-cancer drugs that retard cancer growth, inhibit angiogenesis (the formation of new blood vessels) and the metastatic spreading of cancer cells." So concludes a comprehensive review published in the October 2005 issue of the scientific journal Mini-Reviews in Medicinal Chemistry. Not familiar with the emerging body of research touting cannabis' ability to stave the spread of certain types of cancers? You're not alone. For over 30 years, US politicians and bureaucrats have systematically turned a blind eye to scientific research indicating that marijuana may play a role in cancer prevention -- a finding that was first documented in 1974. That year, a research team at the Medical College of Virginia (acting at the behest of the federal government) discovered that cannabis inhibited malignant tumor cell growth in culture and in mice. According to the study's results, reported nationally in an Aug. 18, 1974, Washington Post newspaper feature, administration of marijuana's primary cannabinoid THC, "slowed the growth of lung cancers, breast cancers and a virus-induced leukemia in laboratory mice, and prolonged their lives by as much as 36 percent." Despite these favorable preclinical findings, US government officials dismissed the study (which was eventually published in the Journal of the National Cancer Institute in 1975), and refused to fund any follow-up research until conducting a similar –- though secret –- clinical trial in the mid-1990s. That study, conducted by the US National Toxicology Program to the tune of $2 million concluded that mice and rats administered high doses of THC over long periods experienced greater protection against malignant tumors than untreated controls. Rather than publicize their findings, government researchers once again shelved the results, which only came to light after a draft copy of its findings were leaked in 1997 to a medical journal, which in turn forwarded the story to the national media. Nevertheless, in the decade since the completion of the National Toxicology trial, the U.S. government has yet to encourage or fund additional, follow up studies examining the cannabinoids' potential to protect against the spread cancerous tumors. Fortunately, scientists overseas have generously picked up where US researchers so abruptly left off. In 1998, a research team at Madrid's Complutense University discovered that THC can selectively induce apoptosis (program cell death) in brain tumor cells without negatively impacting the surrounding healthy cells. Then in 2000, they reported in the journal Nature Medicine that injections of synthetic THC eradicated malignant gliomas (brain tumors) in one-third of treated rats, and prolonged life in another third by six weeks. In 2003, researchers at the University of Milan in Naples, Italy, reported that non-psychoactive compounds in marijuana inhibited the growth of glioma cells in a dose dependent manner and selectively targeted and killed malignant cancer cells. The following year, researchers reported in the journal of the American Association for Cancer Research that marijuana's constituents inhibited the spread of brain cancer in human tumor biopsies. In a related development, a research team from the University of South Florida further noted that THC can also selectively inhibit the activation and replication of gamma herpes viruses. The viruses, which can lie dormant for years within white blood cells before becoming active and spreading to other cells, are thought to increase one's chances of developing cancers such as Karposis Sarcoma, Burkitts lymphoma, and Hodgkins disease. More recently, investigators published pre-clinical findings demonstrating that cannabinoids may play a role in inhibiting cell growth of colectoral cancer, skin carcinoma, breast cancer, and prostate cancer, among other conditions. When investigators compared the efficacy of natural cannabinoids to that of a synthetic agonist, THC proved far more beneficial – selectively decreasing the proliferation of malignant cells and inducing apoptosis more rapidly than its synthetic alternative while simultaneously leaving healthy cells unscathed. Nevertheless, US politicians have been little swayed by these results, and remain steadfastly opposed to the notion of sponsoring – or even acknowledging – this growing body clinical research, preferring instead to promote the unfounded notion that cannabis use causes cancer. Until this bias changes, expect the bulk of research investigating the use of cannabinoids as anticancer agents to remain overseas and, regrettably, overlooked in the public discourse. 20. You can apply "why" to nearly everything we do and don't do. Why jump out of planes? Why drink beer? Why ride motorcycles? Why drive a car? Why eat certian foods? Why go to war? Why, why, why? Smoking is not good for you but neither is a large number of things people do. Best if we all just get inside a protective bubble and then we can all be safe. 21. Your friend wouldn't happen to be Merle Haggard, would he. "I'll fix your flat tire Merle, don't get your sweet guitar picking fingers all covered with erle. 22. If you payed into the system then you should have access to healthcare. I pay over $1200.00 a year into medicare but only get one appointment a year and it is just to monitor the advancement of the disease. No one is "giving" you anything free. I think "peaceful"jeffery would rather see sick and dying people laying in the streets as it would make it easier for him to kick them. You can move to Iraq and have this "right" all day long. 23. Sure smoking while pregnant or smoking at anytime is not good, but to say that the kid is at a disadvantage right off the bat is abit far flung. My sister smoked during her 3 pregnancies. None of her kids smoke. One is a 250+ pound musclehead police officer, one is 4.0 wizkid in advanced school for gifted kids and he also weighs over 200 pounds of pure muscle and her daughter is a very talented artist who has also been scouted by modeling agencies. I guess if a person is going to complain about what another is doing, smoking is a good one. Yet, there are a number of things that could be jumped on. How about when you see a pregnant woman at McDonalds scarfing down junk food or a riding on a motorcycle or even driving a car. How about skydiving? How about drinking coffee or any kind of soda. I think the list can go on and on. I once saw a pregnant woman jogging. Her belly was going up and down like a basketball being dribbled. Damn, that can't be good. Truth is a high number of us, most likely, came from smoking mommies and we all turned out alright. Right? My mom smoked. I was born in 1960 before political correctness was en vogue. Anyways, I do not think pregnant women should smoke. "...And once you're gone, you can't come back When you're out of the blue and into the black." Neil Young
  24. If he was just some "regular joe", I'm sure that the D.A. would be looking to file some kind of charge against him. If the guy was to die or did die, do you think that a manslaughter charge would be put on Cheney? Most likely not. From all that I read or heard it seems that the blame is being placed on the guy who got shot. Cheney should step up and take full responsibilty for this. After all, he did point and fire.
