So in NZ none of the Manufacturers issue ratings and are not "In Partnership" with the three governing bodies? Well then, I now understand, you don't have to deal with any of our issues, so you see them as "silly" or "over reactive". Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. They will never tell you it is OK to skip handle checks, jump camera with a tandem with less than 500 jumps, do backflips, however they will also not refuse to sell equipment to companies they know ( good old youtube) do these very things, because that comapany may order 20 harnesses and containers every 2 years while failing to purchase the reserves and mains that supposedly go with them. Fair enough. But if they did step up and pull your Manufacturers rating what would that then do? In the US, the agreement is both USPA and the Manufacturer will honor the others disciplinary action. I.E. UPT pulls a rating USPA'a goes too. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I was talking the rules from the manufacturer and was not aware of any exception for other countries other than the under age exception. If your stating the manufacturer says it is OK to skip handle checks cause you use Handy cam OK. They told me "No" though. BUT if your under standing of the rules as they apply from the manufacturer, in your location, is better than mine, I then stand corrected. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Which rules...? You'll have to be more concise. Manufacturer recommendations are not rules, unless the operational regulations you are subject to specify so. That is all I can imagine you are talking about. Would you care to clarify, or would you rather remain ambiguous? No your right on it, except, the Manufacturers Rules are Rules. You use a SIGMA, and the Manufacturer has stated over and over again, how to use its systems, you have said "No" several times now. You think 1000 jumps for a Tandem Rating is better than 500. Yet you think 50 jumps enough for a camera. Then you use a line like "Rules are Rules". Your a confusing person to understand. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. Incorrect again. The course was listed in Parachutist magazine before it took place. All the paperwork was filed with USPA. I got a rating. The dropzone was not a group member. Well some one some where screwed up. So far two members of the BOD have said that is not how it is to be run. Was the DZ a member at the time of listing and it lapsed? True, some DZ's have asked for "Waivers" to the "rule" and they have been granted, was this one of those? The benefit (or one of them at least) to the GM program is not paying the fee, another is the free advertising in Parachutist under the guise of a listing. In that case it would be an editors mistake if the DZ was not a GM. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Then you took courses not "sanctioned" by USPA. The way the system is designed to work that is not allowed. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Incorrect. Kind of, see diablopilot and I's posts above. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

But there are other rules from other other sources you choose to ignore, why? Rules are Rules, right? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

http://www.uspa.org/USPAMembers/Downloads/tabid/84/Default.aspx The Two A License Cards each show a 3500' hop and pop (Clear and Pull). The 2 page list the one at 3500' and the 4 page lists two, one each at 3500' and 5500'. How long has the ISP been in use? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. If your going to focus on RW get and RW suit. If you going to Focus on VRW get a VRW suit. Sure your instructor was partially right that you can do most casual RW in a VRW Suit. I have not seen detachable Grippers, but I have seen "Combo Suits" that swap out pants and tops for different needs. Bev Suits does a version and I am sure there are others. There is oodles of Info on this in here just search away. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Ah! So it is a English Language "thing". People have money and the Government takes the Money in the form of a Tax! I get it now. It matters not if the same dollar passes through the hands of ten people and at each passing of the hand the Government takes a cut, it is the People being taxed. I would lose my house, and medical care that I need. I've been finding that quite a few jobs only wish to give employees less than 40 hours a week. They call them part-time jobs. No benefits. Any money that I would make would go directly into the gas tank. I need to be able to afford medical care, living expenses, food, house payment, insurance and anything else that is required. Most important is the medical care provided with SSDI. Without it, I'm dead (my doctor said that my health is on the down side as the meds are not working as they should.) It is a necessity, not a lifestyle choice. Believe me, I would love to be off of SSDI. I finished college earlier this year and had hoped to be working by now. Not much for decent work in Southwest Missouri. I've considered moving, but that would depend on the sale of my property (several homes around me have been on the market for well over a year.) Until something good comes along, I'll stay on SSDI out of necessity. Well this paints a different picture. I hope your situation works out for the best. The DZ doesn't have to be a GM member, but if it is not it is supposed to pay some sort of fee for the course. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

That is a really stupid argument. I earn a salary and it is taxed. I spend it and it is taxed. It now becomes revenue and eventually someone's income and is taxed again, they spend it and it's taxed again, . If you insist that money rather than a person is taxed, then ALL money is taxed over and over and over again. Professor, I am not following you. You stated the same thing I did in money being taxed, I think. My second sentence you quoted is how some families will write in and out of a will members of the same family over disputes. And, yes I do believe money is what is taxed, how ever I can see ones point of view that people are taxed since some people don't pay taxes and keep their money. "Filled out a lot of applications with only a couple of interviews. The wages they offer is from minimum wage to $10.00 an hour. I refuse to work for minimum wage. I get more from SSDI, why would I want less? I need at least $15.00 an hour to make more than what I get on SSDI." This perturbs me. I understand when you lost your job you got paid a certain amount, but what was it when you started? Why not take the minimum wage work? Take a small deduction in income and make the necessary life style changes needed till you get promoted or a raise. Staying on SSDI because it pays better, to me is wrong if the person is doing it as a lifestyle choice. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I won't touch the "it's the person that is earning the money" part. But if it is income, tax it at income rates and no higher. If it is property add it to the persons holding and tax it as such, but no higher. It still gets taxed a second, third, and etc time. The family earned it by being in that family, and can un-earn it at the will and whim of person who will pass it along. Up on my Son and Daughters birth's they earned what ever I deemed I wanted to give them, that I owned, in my death. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

if you click on the video, a voice, that sounds like a stoner, will tell you all about it. lighthouse is in the US on Lake Erie. water blowing off the lake during freezing temps. Sounds like Bear Grillis to me. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I have been thinking on this a while and here goes. I would think "not", as I would want the focus on the skills we are working on and not wondering if the camera is on and getting good shots. I have never had a FJC Type Student ask this, but I did have a Coach Candidate ask this and asked if he could do a practice jump a day prior to the Course starting. Although I appreciated the footage he got of me working hard to now help him to much, it did nothing for him. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Yes it is easy enough to do. Have the host DZ become a USPA GM then bring on a I/E in the methods of instruction you are seeking. Matt C-E SL & T-I/E An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Your Poll seems to show the opinions of others does not agree with you and Barney. The funds in ones inheritance is taxed at least once prior to it being inherited, yes? In some cases more, depending on how the stocks, bonds, shares, partial ownership of property and realty is reported etc. So if I am already square with the Taxes, why should my Daughter or Son pay again on this? SAVE SKYDIVE THE POINT!!!!

"He expects the airport next year to solicit requests for proposals to lease the hangar being vacated by the skydivers in a move that could turn a bigger profit for the facility than it's earned in the past."
