I packed about 30 before I made my first jump. It was part of the Team training course. Then on my first Student jump I jumped my own pack job. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Well there is a Start in Florida, so we can just chalk that up as confusion. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Liberal Death Threats Against Sarah Palin (YouTube)
matthewcline replied to a topic in Speakers Corner
Well, if you don't take charge of your own education you can go through life spreading lies like that one. I would not call one book recommended by one professor a consensus. Vets where spat on, called baby killers, and even had red paint thrown on them. DOD told returning Vets on Leave to change into civilian clothing to avoid confrontation. They people doing this where not hippies so much as War Protesters. But, as you have now heard from first and second hand accounts, the book is wrong in its relaying of history. You may want to inform your professor of his incorrect teachings. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Yes Red does have a good program with the trade in deal. When you do move up make sure you step back and retrace your progressions with the new canopy. Be safe! Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

Canopies are tools, no single canopy will work for ALL loads and conditions. Same point I made earlier and same point you echoed. Stop basing every thing in skydiving in only what you do. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

It is a high performance type canopy, not too many (smart) jumpers under 250 jumps would be looking at this canopy and when they do they are looking at what the max might be. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

http://rgl.faa.gov/Regulatory_and_Guidance_Library/rgFAR.nsf/0/5d73a27815be37a986256eed005e150d!OpenDocument While the FAR does not say specifically to hold the Class III, it does say; "Has successfully completed a tandem instructor course given by the manufacturer of the tandem parachute system used in the parachute operation or a course acceptable to the Administrator. (v) Has been certified by the appropriate parachute manufacturer or tandem course provider as being properly trained on the use of the specific tandem parachute system to be used. " Part of the certification Process is a Class III OR equivalent. So just get an Equivalent physical till the FAA Indiana State Legislation starts a Nation Wide Law change run making us all go Class III or higher. The FSDO in Nashville has told me personally that he reads Parachutist in Command as Pilot in Command. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

T-I's would still need the Class III for flying as we are piloting the System and have a Student (Some times falsely referred to as a "passenger"), correct? Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I have a couple of hundred jumps on a Rage, 120, 130 and 140 sized models. They open smooth and with a snivle, around 700 to 800 feet to do so. They have a nice glide ratio and can make it back from long spots like other well known high performance canopies. Make no mistake the Rage is a high performance canopy and when loaded will be just as deadly if flown improperly as any other one. I can be just as aggressive in a dive as the Katana and feels to have a similar dive and recovery. But it is an all around good canopy for the DZ worker/weekend warrior/ experienced canopy pilot. This is some very top notch advice from a top notch RW jumper. "top notch" my ass. If he was that good, why the heck would he even be posting here? I think he's a hack and just bored. People should try to get their advice from locals that know and care about them - not some social website. Ha ha! But I will admit I had to reread who I quoted as you puzzled me at first. Possibility of Transfer to Millington, TN
matthewcline replied to shward's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Whoops, I had McMinville in my mind for some reason, probably cause we where talking about it here at the FSDO's office the other day. SO yeah WTS is the place and you will be very happy. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!! -
Skydive Greene County does, call and check the schedule. Start Skydiving does, again call. Most DZ's offer it as needed. But those two do so regularly. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I get it, you are stating they may feel guilty playing the "what if" game. "What if I gave him the ticket? would he have been delayed or maybe not have made it at all?" "What if I chased him and caught him in the desert and confronted him more about the bag" But that is just pointless. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

I was thinking he could be cast as Vin's Character's Brother in any movie he does. To the OP there are other locations for agents as well. Nashville has another feature in production and is averaging one every 60 days. There are Agencies here too. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety. So, start being safe, first!!!

WTS sister DZ is in Tullahoma and you can ask WTS about it as well. That DZ is going to be closer, I believe they will be open every weekend this years alternating the King Air and the Cessna (or Beech?), but ask them to be sure. And Skydive East TN is just off of I-40 next to Knoxville. Another good DZ with a quality staff and student Program, rental gear etc. Matt An Instructors first concern is student safety.
