Not directed at Ron just adding my .02 to his post. Gloves are like any other added piece of equipment and must be trained on before use. I made my first jump with gloves (military FJC) and did preactices in full kit many times before each jump. Plus every day we hada weather hold we wouold practice or dirt dive in full kit. To me Gloves are a "comfort" item and I feel "off" with out them now. I have never had a problem but some have. Why has this thread degenerated to a personal attack forum between 2 or 3 people? Why not debate the actual thread topic. Liberals, Conservatives and Moderates have equal amounts of draft dodging, selfish, un-honorable carreer politicians who will flip flop for personal gain and step on the citizens they are to represent and think nothing of the lives they will waste in the process. They will support a war effort as long as thier pockets and thier friends pockets are filling with dollars, all the while care nothing of the Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines and Coast Guardsmen who will perish as they get rich and the pain caused to all the fallens families. You can toe a party line or be honest and admit all parties have screwed this Nation and the War efforts up (remember we are stretched thin in several hemespheres) . It is a fairly good sized story here. A lot bigger in our neck of the US than others, but hey, the bozo's came from this post. Although there are planty of awesome swoopers here this really isn't the place to teach swooping drills. Go with Phreezones advice and have some one actually watch your set and landing, a series of canopy courses would be best. Not to many of us have been able to learn it the hard way and live to tell about it. I have made major mistakes and been real lucky and I am not even a true "swooper". Be serious, but have fun! That was what I was thinking, but wasn't going to ASS U ME, . It is pretty much how I land any way. A "swoop" and drag/bleed off speed with the feet and then "pop" the last bit of power in the flare to stand and stop, USUALLY at the Vid Kids feet! An Instructors first concern is student safety. If he is in Ft. Lee, is he a Rigger? If so he should try and get the "Ram Air Packing Certification" as soon as possible and try to get to a HALO Loft. His Static line jumps from Ft. Benning do not really transfer to any thing he will do in the FJC other than he will be good on PLF training. But he will probably pay pretty good attention as he is used to the "Black Hats" unique style of instruction. He will be able to get good training with the Ft. Bragg Sport Parachute Activity and Raeford of course. He has an opertunity as he progresses to join the 82nd Team or even try out for the "Knights". He can even get to know the "Knights" he may see as try out cadre at the DZ prior to try outs. And there are other Teams out there if he ever transfers to, oh Ft. Campbell. I have 2 Testris suits and 1 for a year now. The year old suit has 200+ jumps on it (RW and Tandem). I have had some not so smooth landings and some pretty ugly RW exits. Through all the stressful exits and landings the suit has NO signs of wear or damage. The spandex used is tough and in the right place and amount to allow year round jumping with one suit but many layers of clothes. I spend my money on these as they impress me more than the suits I can get free from work.

The Sentry Line seams t obe a great all around canopy design. Nice opennings and great glide and flare power. Loaded lightly, this is a great transitional canopy for students and youger jumpers. Loaded heavy this canopy can be used by more experienced jumpers to develope more aggressive canopy piloting skills. This is a good canopy for many disciplines in skydiving and Instructors who will jump multiple times in a day and need not to worry about spinning or hard opennings.
