  1. I find my self constantly subject to attacks due to the fact that I am very outspoken about my feelings towards the obesity epidemic our country is facing. The BS Dr. Phil attitude that our country has adopted, trying to force everyone to "accept people for who they are" has created a hostile attitude towards people that try to encourage others to improve themselves while facilitating lifestyles that are not only unhealthy and dangerous but a detriment to our society as a whole. Obesity isn't just something that must be dealt with by those who are overweight, it affects all of us. I took the time to dig up a few statistics regarding the obesity epidemic. -The US population is approximately 306 million, of which 34% is overweight according to the Center for Disease control. -I found a number of different statistics from multiple sources estimating the cost of obesity to he health care industry being anywhere from $100 million to $100 billion per year. -The reports that were showing costs being more towards the lower end of that scale were mostly looking at costs that fall onto the tax payers. Over 50% of health care costs related to obesity come from tax payer funded programs, so on the low end of the scale, over 50 million a year coming out of all of our pockets to cover these costs. -The American Journal on Preventative Medicine reported that last year airlines had to use an additional 350 million gallons of fuel directly related to the transportation of heavier people than in prior years. -Another report showed that obese people use an average of 18 more gallons per year driving their cars because of their extra weight. -Also take into account that obese people eat more food, and wear clothes that take more material to produce. So what do all those statistics mean to us? Well first of all when you consider the fact that we are facing record deficits due to excessive government spending we could consider all this money going to paying for people's poor life choices wasteful government spending. Not to mention the effort put into battling obesity by the medical industry that could be geared towards fighting diseases that we have no control over. If you're overweight it should be your responsibility to fight it, not the medical industries, you are taking effort away from people who fell ill due to conditions they have no control over. The airline industry is struggling as a whole so when you the cost of fuel coupled with the fact that the airlines had to burn an extra 350,000,000 gallons of fuel to support the obese that's a pretty good reason to be upset. And last summer's fuel prices, I know 18 gallons a year extra per obese person doesn't seem like much by itself, but at an obesity rate of 30+% that means we have over 100 million obese people in this country. That amounts 10 1.8 billion gallons of gasoline consumed by obese people driving their cars. And the mention of food and materials at the bottom of my list of statistics, well that's simple supply and demand. Obese people consume more food and use more materials to support themselves, I didn't find any statistics stating how much more exactly but it can reasonably be assumed that their extra consumption contributes to higher prices on consumer products. So who should be upset by all this? Every one of us, people who support legislation aimed at protecting our planet and preventing global warming should be upset that the obese are contributing more than the rest of us to the consumption of fossil fuels. People who are sick of seeing our tax dollars being wasted should be mad that we have to pay to support people's poor choices. And everyone who is sick of high prices in regards to food, consumer products, fuel, and airline travel should be upset by this. Obesity is not something that randomly chooses 34% of Americans and decided to ruin their lives, it is a life choice. I understand that some people have medical conditions that make it difficult for them to maintain a healthy weight, but these people are in the minority of the obese population. Genetics is another BS excuse, your body does not miraculously create fat tissue out of nowhere because your mom was overweight, as hard as that may be for some people to believe. If you don't put things into your body that can be converted to fat then you won't become grossly overweight. We all know that not everyone in this world is genetically inclined to having a beach body, but that is no excuse for becoming overweight. Our society encourages behavior that supports this problem, we give every overweight person that goes shopping a little scooter to ride around on so they can be less active. I almost never see these scooters being used by people with injuries, nearly always the obese. People sue schools when the overweight kids don't make the cut for the sports teams rather than using that as motivation to get their kids in shape. Restaurant chain's and food makers are being sued by obese people that refuse to take responsibility for their choices, these lawsuits cost the companies affected millions of dollars which result in lowered profits and the trickle down affect of that is higher prices for the rest of us and budget cuts which include layoffs. How would you like to lose your job because someone spent their life cramming twinkies down their throat and when they were diagnosed with a life-threatening medical condition related to their weight they decided to sue your company instead of accepting fault and changing their lifestyle? It's pathetic how inactive, unhealthy, and out of shape our country has become and whether people want to believe it or not it does affect all of us. Doctors have predicted that by 2048 every adult in the United States will be overweight and annual health care costs related to obesity will top 1 trillion annually. That's a disturbing fact and I really hope one of these days people will come to their senses and stop encouraging the type of behavior that leads to these problems. So next time you feel like calling someone insensitive for complaining about overweight people maybe you should take a second to consider how inconsiderate the overweight are to the rest of us. Why should I have to suffer for your poor decisions when I've spent a lifetime dedicating myself to a healthy lifestyle? 2. Hey bro, how bout you learn the whole story about why I ended up in a home that cost so much before you jump to conclusions about whether or not I was responsible in buying it. It was a joint purchase between myself and another soldier, between the two of us our combined income was on par with what a reasonable mortgage should be. His situation took a turn for the worse so I bought him out. I took a good look at my finances and decided to give up some of the normal comforts and extras I'm used to so I could help a friend out. I'm still living within my means. Get your damn facts straight. And if I did lose my job with the military through no fault of my own I don't feel it would be unreasonable of me to ask for help from the government while I got back on my feet. I have said before those who lost their jobs due to the economy deserve a helping hand. The people who could barely afford their mortgage in the first place then lost it because their rate went up or they weren't willing to make the sacrifices to continue paying it are the ones I'm pissed at. When did such a large group of sniveling babies asking for handouts because they don't want to WORK to improve their standing become the majority in this country, its disgusting. 3. So, what happens when that second job disappears and you cannot find a new one? Then the standard of living gets rolled back even further. I will not under any circumstances allow myself to become a burden on this economy. Worst case scenario, my military pay alone is enough to live off of and pay all my bills, it just offers me zero discretionary spending. The second job I have now is what allows me to have some resemblance of a social life. So regardless of what happens I am going to come through this downturn with my credit and mortgage in tact. And I won't be asking for any free handouts because I bought something I couldn't afford. I made the decision to buy a home I'm no longer able to live in and I'm going to shoulder the burden on my own until the market improves to a point that allows me to sell it and get on with my life. And before anyone puts words in my mouth I'm not taking any shots at people going into foreclosure because they lost their jobs due to no fault of their own. My anger is towards those who didn't belong in their homes int he first place and are now adding to the crisis. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  4. Yeah, I know...had to fuck with ya about the chaps of doom, though...what else are friends for??? Quote You'd think 4 years later I would've lived that down!! History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  5. Do you have any real data to back up your rant claim that these people caused the economic mess? Quote Could you be more explicit in asking for economic data? What exactly are you asking me to back up/ The fact that a good portion of the stimulus package is going to people who don't pay taxes to begin with yet feel they deserve more? Read the stimulus bill if you would like confirmation on that. Or are you looking for data showing how the number of foreclosures that happened before the "meltdown" when everybody started losing their jobs helped cause the problem? Before the mass layoffs began a good number of the people losing their homes were the ones that didn't belong in them in the first place. Reality is also a good reference for this as well. Of course we could all fall under the easy banner that would have us blaming wall street for everything gone wrong with this country but the greed of the individual consumers in this country is equally to blame. 6. Silly bear, you'd think after as much as I post around here you'd know better than to give me an opening like that!! History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  7. The deadbeats who got us into this mess are the Wall Street Wizards who figured out how to leverage debt to the Nth degree, so that eventually the house of cards they built came tumbling down. You make a very valid point however, the house of cards built by leveraging credit would not have collapsed if people had not purchased homes and used credit in manner they had no business doing. How much are you willing to bet that a good number of the people whose homes are being foreclosed have the ability to pay their mortgages if only they would be willing to make some sacrifices when it comes to their standard of living? You must be thinking of the 2+ million people who have lost their jobs and their health insurance since November. Yup, I bet they'd rather lose their homes than their TV sets. Must be nice to be a government employee like you. I have no issue with giving a helping hand to hard working people who have lost their jobs because of the recession, don't twist my words. The tax cuts and extra cash going to fund the damn welfare programs should be geared more towards those who are unemployed due to no fault of their own, the working class, and the businesses struggling to keep them in their jobs. However, people who had no business buying a house and are going into foreclosure because they don't want to sell the new Lincoln Navigator and replace it with a beater so they can eek otu a few more months of payments don't deserve shit. The majority of my non-deployed time in the military has been spent working a second job on the weekends so I could up my standard of living despite the fact that I own a home I don't even live in and can barely afford. and guess what, I may not have the lifestyle I want but I'm making my payments on time and haven't lowered my standard of living. It's called hard work, maybe the people in this country begging for a government handout who didn't have a decent job to begin with should try it every once in a while. 8. Just show 'em the "Chaps of Doom"...that oughta be punishment enough for anyone!! Those things had a matching rubber fist, god I loved em!! 12. Dude, I just joined for the college money... Quote LOL, I have no problem with people joining for the benefits so long as they do their job while they're in and don't just bide their time. I have seen someone throw that line out as an excuse for not giving a crap about their job though. Man I wish wall to wall counseling was allowed!! History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  13. So you oppose the tax cuts it contains? Quote I oppose giving money back to the deadbeats that don't do a whole lot of anything for this country anyways and helped get us into this mess. This bill is a big chunk of change for all the people that contribute nothing to this economy while those of us that work for a living are getting the shaft. How dare i work two jobs to pay for the mortgage I can barely afford. How dare I stay current on my payments which should belong to someone well above my income bracket. I don't deserve shit for constantly working more than all those lazy fucks collecting free handouts because I chose to take over a mortgage to help a friend avoid a dire financial situation that would have ripped his marriage apart. Shame on me for giving up my social life to ensure I didn't become a financial burden to this country. This bill is doing nothing more than paying off all the people that voted Obama into office so they wouldnt' have to pay their bills like those of us to choose to work and do the right thing for a living. Further, the bill is doing little to nothing to stimulate the economy. Giving a few extra bucks a month to people does jack to help the economy, helping out all the businesses that are trying to keep people employed will make a huge difference. But what would the dems be if they weren't giving free crap to the undeserving, spread the wealth everyone, people don't deserve the fruits of their labor anymore. Screw tax cuts for businesses that choose to keep jobs here so people don't need those free handouts, we'd rather just give the handouts, it makes people happy. 14. How about the union auto workers stop asking for insane salaries to do a job that a retarded circus clown could do. They dug their own grave on that one. They don't even have a hard job and they demand all kinds of breaks, bennies, and incentives for doing it. What a bunch of crap. They don't know what a hard days work is and its looking like thy are going to have to learn the hard way when their greed lands them out of work. 15. As much as I believe it should be earned I don't believe there would be able to be a program that would allow all citizens the ability to earn that right fairly. As perfect as we tried to make it politics would sneak in there and tilt the qualifications in favor of whichever party was in control. I do however think that there should be a general knowledge test on the major issues involved in the election. We had too many ignorant retards on both sides this election and it disgusts m knowing that the people who knew next to nothing about the candidates decided the fate of this country. 16. Canuck, to address your original question...... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO no no no no,,,,,,,holy fuck god jesus titty fucking no!!! SARLDO already said it very well, we don't need a bunch of dirt bags in the military that don't want to be there, I have a hard enough time dealing with all the turds that barely do their jobs to begin with. It would be hell dealing with people who genuinely don't want to be here. And as for creating non combat roles for these people. If it says US Army on your uniform there is one place you belong, combat. We already have a unit full of people that don't support the military's combat role in any capacity, they're known as the Golden Showers...er....Knights, something like that. 17. I've never had an issue with the whole concept of electronic medical records, I do however disagree with the government trying to regulate treatments for "cost effectiveness". I've seen so many people in the Army whose medical records were lost and they ended having to get every shot they ever had a second time and lost all their records they could've used to file a disability claim upon retirement. Now that we've switched to the electronic system that isn't nearly as much of an issue anymore, you lose the paper copy you just print out another file from the computer and replace it. in it's purest form its a good system but this bill is getting retarded quickly. UFC 92 WTF?

It was for rampage (this time)Quote No it wasn't, Rampage looked scared shitless the first few minutes of that fight. I knew Silva would make that mistake though, Rampage was just waiting for it. You can't through winging punches from the outside against Page anymore, his in close boxing skills have come too far and that hook is a night ender. This sucks, I hate the dirtbag. 19. Ha ha - that would be the agreement negotiated between the puppet government and the occupying military power, right? You should have spent more time studying history, like the history of Vichy France. So who gets to conduct the trial of US troops who kill Iraqis? Oh - it's the US military! THAT is why it's a puppet government. No more need be said. Thanks for conceding the point. If you aren't going to back up your argument with anything apart from your personal opinion which is in no way based on any type of fact or personal experience than there is no point in dealing with you. You basically showed why my original post was suited perfectly for you. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  20. The concept of an independent government in a country under military occupation by a foreign power, whose troops do not answer to said government, is SIMPLY ABSURD. I will add that the concept of an independent government elected under a process designed by an occupying military power is also absurd. Iraq has both problems. Quote Double check your facts, our military no longer operates in any capacity in Iraq without Iraqi approval. Believe what you want, but the fact remains that the Iraqi government is in charge of their country and we are being held accountable for are actions which are all closely scrutinized by the Iraqi government. What would I know though, not like I've been there or anything. Our government may have put the Iraqi government in place initially after the invasion but they are taking over for themselvs very quickly. And much like everyone that we have helped in any capacity they are becoming extremely short-sighted and demanding things from us constantly and trying to find quick ways to get us out of there. The Iraqis are replacing what was put in place by the US in a very quick fashion so that they can be seen as being self sufficient. My hat goes off to them for their recent progress, but unfortunately for the soldiers in theatre they are no longer able to do their jobs without being kept on a short leash. Quote You would think a college professor would take the time to understand why type of arrangement currently exists between the US forces and the Iraqi government before makin an ignorant statement like this. Seems I thought wrong. Next time you want to spew your BS about what is going on in Iraq, talking about how we have a military occupation of the country take the time to do some damn homework. UFC 92 WTF?

Yes Wand did knock out Jardine in 36 seconds in his last fight(I was cage side screaming at the top of my lungs), Wand is a threat to everyone that steps in the cage with him but against Jackson it could go either way. As far as Rashad, it could have been said that he was spoon fed opponents until his last three, Tito, Chuck, and Bisping. Like Chuck or not he has been one of the greatest knockout artists in UFC history hands down. I disagree with the tie against Tito, I still say Tito won that fight, and his win over Bisping was insanely close, and against an undersized opponent who's now a middleweight. Rashad however, continues to improve everytime we see him and he has unquestionable knockout power. Forrest made a good point though that he is a lot like Bisping in his methodical gameplan fighting style. Forrest is just a lot more talented and a lot stronger than Bisping so he is going to give Rashad one hell of a fight. I won't ever count Rashad out again though, not after that brutal knockout of Chuck. As for the heavyweight picture, I like Mir a lot but I agree that I don't want to see him fight Lesnar again. Brock wouldn't stand a chance in hell against Nog, the guy is just too resiliant for Brock to finish. And I'll always enjoy watchin Lesnar lose!! UFC 92 WTF?

Both have been increasing their ability to make a plan and stick to it. Evans has heavy hands but forrest is too stupid to fall down. IF forrest can keep his cool I think he'll be able to win but I think Evans will be able to frustrate forrest into doing soemthing stupid. I hope I am wrong. I disagree that Evans will be able to frustrate Forrest. Forrest doesn't get flustered easily, if you look back through his fights in the UFC you'll notice that everytime things started to go bad he was able to adjust and come through. Watch his fight with Tito, he spent a good part of the first round on his back getting pounded out and in the second two rounds he fixed the problem and Tito couldn't get him down. The fight with Quinton, Forrest got hurt bad in the first and adjusted his combos so he would stay away from the power that Quinton puts into the third and fourth punches in his combos which is where Forrest really got it. Forrest has grown up under Randy and nobody puts together better gameplans than him, I think Forrest may be able to pull this one out. I give it to Rashad that the guy gets better everytime we see him. He's heavy handed and very quick, but Forrest has the reach and footwork to keep Evans in a safe range and engage when he feels ready to. I think this is going to be the nail biter of the night with some back and forth action from the opening bell. I think Forrest may be able to pull this one out. Mir V Nog I would like to see Mir get the title back since he never techniaclly lost it. Mir was kind of a dick during this seasons show but I would still like to see Mir Win. But as with my first pick I have to go with who I THINK will win and its NOT Mir. Nog is a skileed fighter with a thick skull. he's gonna have to make a major mistake to lose to Mir. One thing with this match is that Mir is not known for his cardio prowess, almost all of his great submission victories have come within two minutes, to include his submission of Lesnar. The deeper this fight goes the more it becomes Nog's game, and Nog will also have the ability to decide where it is fought. Mir lacks the take down ability to put Nog down, and Nog is a better boxer. Mir's best shot may be to play possum to lure Nog into the ground game, if he can't do this quick then the fight become's Nog's. Rampage V Wanerlei I think this is their 3rd fight. Rampage lost each time. They may be older and Q may be better but I wonder if he'll be able to fight the mental block. I think his training has become more serious so I will go on a limb here and say Rampage....A very long limb. Q is coming off of a loss and lately everyone has seen back to back losses before getting thier shit back together. I say Q wins. This one could go either way, I think Wanderlei has rebuilt himself as a fighter since moving to Vegas and he is going to present a whole truckload of new challenges or Quinton. However, it's no secret that you can never get rid of the old "let's stand and bang this out" Wanderlei that ruled Pride and when this turns into a toe to toe slugfest both of these men have one punch knockout power and it becomes a coin toss as to who will land the big shot first. Overall the odds are even on this fight and rightfully so, which means since there is no clear favorite in this fight I'm giving it to my favorite, Wand. I don't care what anyone says, that man is not human, and I'll always cheer for him. And bringing up the Dolloway V. Massenzio fight, I got Massenzio to win. I got the inside scoop on that guys talent and he's definitely going to be a game opponent for CB. I guess it kinda helps when one of his BJJ coaches is one of my best friends and an old Army buddy huh!! I just got to chat with the guy, my boy introuced me too him, he's incredibly relaxed and looks like he's in a great mental state going into this match.
