  1. There was no clear winner in this debate. Both candidates were coherent, and neither showed any of the weaknesses they have in previous public appearances. In many ways, the debate was more about seeing if one candidate could catch the other candidate in a moment of weakness. But McCain had none of the senior moments he's had in the past, and Obama did not come across as timid as he sometimes did in previous events. Quote At least I'm not the only one who saw it that way, I wanted to see McCain mop the floor with Obama but after the debate saw it as pretty even. What saddened me was that when I saw the interviews with all the undecided voters who watched the debate about 2/3 said they though Obama won and when asked what made them lean that way their replies were along the lines of, "McCain moves his hands when he talks a lot like Bush does and I don't like that". So like I've been saying for months now, the next four years for our country are being decided by the idiots of America. 2. I'm trying to see if I can get the time off for nats, if I can count me in on this one, I can probably think of another two people off the top of my head that may be interested, let me check with them and get back to you. 3. Sounds like bigotry to me. Aww did I hurt someone's feelings saying the word redneck? Here's my I'm sorry face.........there ya go little buddy. Watch the interview, I'm sure its on the website, the man couldn't make a single intelligent statement and called a bunch of 10 year old kids whiny babies in an insulting fashion. I don't like Obama one bit but I don't fall in with the whole propaganda chain e-mail crowd using BS reasons to protest him, and I presonally can't stand jackasses like that, he deserves every bit of that comment. Go feel sorry for someone else. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  4. http://neighbors.denverpost.com/viewtopic.php?p=509689 Sorry I couldn't dig up a better article on this, I'll poke around some more and look for something else. But here's the deal, this kid was sent home from school for wearing a plain white shirt with the words "Barrack Obama: A terrorists friend" written with a marker on the front. The kid and his dad appeared on Fox News and that dumb redneck dad only served to make everyone in the Republican party look like idiots. Yet one more reason why I suport legislation giving the court of public opinion the right to carry out public executions of jackasses!! He tried to claim it was a breach of his constitutional rights, but as much as I support the constitution I agree that in an elementry school the well-being of the learning environment comes before your right to free speech. I completely agree with the school sending him home, matter of fact the kid admitted the school offered to let him stay if he turned the shirt inside out because it was creating a distraction in the classroom. Here's the best part of the whole story, the dad comes on Hannity and Colmes, shows up in a real tree camo shirt(key indicator that he's a dumb redneck!), and calls all the kids who complained about the shirt whiners. A grown man, insulting 10 year old kids, I've never wanted to bitch slap the TV so bad in my life! Maybe its because I'm watching the news more this election than during the last but I'm seeing more acts of stupidity, and abuses of power with regards to the election this time than in the '04 election. With all the stories of college faculy members trying to force their students to support one candidate or the other, and people thinking using shock is an effective way to support your candidate, I'm really wishing we could place some kind of an IQ minimum on voting, or mayb a common sense test of some sort, who's with me???!! 6. And Obama stole the flag and made it a different picture on his plane, what a big jerk, we should all base our political opinions on slogans, and chain emails, and who says cooler stuff, and who has flag lapel pins, and who's a muslim. Oh yeah.....Obama has made a failed attempt to steal both my whiteness and my blackness, and thats just going too far, let's start a thread about it to complain. 7. Thanks a lot for the advice guys, I'll poke around and see what I can't find in regards to those lenses. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  8. I'm putting together my own handcam setup for tandems and was wondering if anyone can give me any recommendations on lenses. the camera is a Sony PC-9, not sure if that makes any difference. Thanks everyone. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  9. Excusee me??!!?!? I don't freakin' THINK so!! Let's not rule out Lyoto Machida and Thiago Silva. Those two guys should be next in line for the title shot! Quote The title picture in the LHW division is a lot more complicated than just who the next contender is, there's a long line of people behind him, yes, Rashad has been given the unofficial nod as the next contender but it isn't set in stone yet, might as well be though, Chuck was supposed to be up next and he lost, so his defeater gets the shot. Thiago and Machida won't fight for a little while, you can't expect Forrest to sit around on that title forever without defending it, he needs to fight to keep it. Machida though....we all know my opinion on that little fucker, he needs to grab his balls and step up and work to finish his fuckin fights if he wants that title shot. the only time he engages is when he's forced to, if he isn't backed into a corner he runs away swinging in every fight but fails to finish. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  10. This fight is going to cause huge fallout in the LHW title picture, when this fight was announced everyone basically took Rashad out of the picture and planned for how things would roll out after Chuck won. It's not as easy as just erasing Chuck's name and putting Rashad in his place, you have to look at the interesting matchups within the title picture and who has fought who already along with when everyone fought last and how soon they can be ready again. I'm going to try and put it all together this week and see what I come up with. The 5 hour drive from Hollywood back to Yuma this morning gave me plenty of time to think about it! 11. I missed the fight but I've read the commentary on how rashad made it happen, he game in with the perfect game plan. 99 times out of 100 Rashad is not the better striker, but he put together a strategy that worked against Chuck's gameplan which anyone who has watched his fights can write a book about. I don't fuckin like Rashad, but he was the better fighter that day, so congrats to him on the win. Don't forget Rashad had Jardine helping him put together a gameplan, Jardine fought a great fight against Chuck because he had the better strategy, Rashad pulled the wool over Chuck's eye's and made him pay. Chuck is beginning to become like Tito, his strategy is easily predictable and people who may very well be lesser fighters are beating him on strategy. He needs to change some things up. He can stay at the top, just not the way he used to. As for him being undefeated, bullshit, he lost to Tito, Chuck was ringside and is a well-known Tito hater and even Chuck said Evans lost. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  12. Question- (rhetorical) who has rashad fought? nobody that was a very big name. He fought tito him after tito lost his desire. As you said, Rashad lost that fight in all but the points. Quote The lackluster performance of Tito's third round, as well as late in the second could very well be attributed to the recurring back injury, not trying to make excuses for him but I've fought with injuries and they sap the strength out of you. Tito's conditioning is far better than what he showed, look at the first round where he shot for a takedown and blew straight through Rashad slamming him into the fence. Rashad had nothing in that fight, he's not a top tier fighter, he's going to end up being a long-term gate keeper. So long as Chuck's injury is healed and doesn't hamper his takedown defense, Rashad has nothing. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  13. What do you think about the other main card matches and did you crap a miata at the Randy news? Quote There's some incredibly interesting undercard fights this PPV, I honestly couldn't write anymore last night, I had a root canal yesterday and was feeling like a bag of smashed assholes so I didn't really have the energy to even write the first analysis. My picks are Hendo and Franklin though, you don't ever count Dan out of a fight, he's far too talented. And Franklin, he's going to have a little bit of a size disadvantage against Hammill, Franklin was a big middleweight to begin with and walks around towards the top end of the LHW range if not above. Franklin's experience is going to play a big role in this one, Hammill's striking has come a long way since he started, but in his last fight it was still clear that it is far from technical enough to deal with someone like Rich. On the feet there is no contest, on the ground Hammill has a big advantage solely in the control area. Rich proved in his last fight that his submission defense is top notch, he has little to no worries about being submitted, the only place Matt is going to control him is in the positioning. Hammill's take downs are also going to be a big decider, Rich will do a great job of keeping him at bay with strikes forcing Matt to shoot from the outside. Towards the end of his fight with Bisping Hammill had a hard time putting him down, Rich is far more experienced and talented that Bisping and will pose an even bigger problem in this area. Honestly, I think Hammill is being thrown to the wolves on this one. And yes I shit a brick and threw a temper tantrum at the Randy news, Brock doesn't deserve shit in this sport yet, and giving him a title shot is bullshit, especially since the man that beat him last spring is fighting for the interim title. This fight is taking so much legitimacy away from the organization, bucking the title picture like this to give some media fairy a title shot because he has celebrity status. Randy is going to fucking punish him and I'm going to be ringside laughing, and if I'm drunk enough possibly touching myself!!! 14. Well I've been slacking the last few PPV's, but this time, under threat of castration by our very own Chinagirl I'll gettin back behind the keyboard to do a little of that commentertatin stuff! As it sits right now the UFC light heavyweight division's list of title contenders is getting overcrowded and there's a few who need to get knocked off. Sitting at the top of the list we've got Chuck(21-5) and Rashad(13-0-1). Chuck barely needs an introduction, he was the reigning light heavyweight champion for 2 years in the UFC and won every single title defense by either KO or TKO, he has an iron chin, so tough he's only been knocked out by one man, Quinton Jackson, who arguably has the most powerful punches in the light heavyweight world, Chuck is the only man to ever knock out the UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture, and is one of the most feared strikers in the world. Enough said. Rashad is the winner of TUF season 2, he was actually the heavyweight winner because there was no LH class that season, he won the show in a split decision win over Brad Imes. Rashad was an accomplished wrestler at Michigan state who has greatly improved standup for someone with a wrestling background, he's incredibly athletic, has great cardio, comes from a well established and bgreatly recognized training camp(Greg Jackson's) and has been working his way up the UFC ladder the last few years. Unfortunately, he has been doing so in less than spectacular fashion, nobody has ever accused Rashad of being an exciting fighter who finishes his fights. 50% of the fights Rashad has engaged in have gone to decision, with half of those being split decisions. His last two fights have been incredibly unimpressive, a draw against Tito last year, which barely saved his undefeated record only due to a point lost by Tito, Rashad lost that entire fight with the exception of the last 2 minutes of round 3, his most recent fight was against Michael Bisping, who has since stepped down into the middleweight division. Bisping was probably a perfectly even opponent when it comes to fight skill, the only thing he lacked was the size and he took it to a very close split decision. Breaking down the styles we're looking at a wrestler vs. striker matchup, both are well-versed in the other's strong suit in that Rashad is in no way afraid to stand in the pocket and exchange with someone, and Chuck has the best scramble and take down defense in the entire MMA universe. How is this going to play out in the ring? Well Rashad has already said that he is not afraid to stand in the pocket with Liddell and he thinks his chin is good enough to take a few shots in order to set up his takedowns, THAT'S FUCKIN BALLSY!! All the commentary about the fight is talking about Rashad's stand up game, and how he's going to utilize it against Chuck, reason being is that nobody is expecting Rashad to successfully put Chuck on the mat, and if he does he won't keep it there for long. I watched a few of Rashad's older fights before I wrote this, his takedowns aren't bad at all, unfortunately for him, he has little finishing ability once on the ground. A weakness like this will be easily exploited by someone like Chuck, who's only question mark going into this fight involves the torn hamstring he suffered preparing for this fight earlier this year. If we see Chuck come out 100% and fight like he did against Silva than Rashad's long overdue first loss is going to happen Saturday night. Overall I don't see any way for Rashad to win this fight, it just isn't his time for a title shot, the question is who is next for Chuck after he dispatches Rashad. 16. Since McCain has pledged to continue the same failed policies, it doesn't matter if they know Obama's goals or not. Why because McCain says we should finish what we started in Iraq? History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  17. I will never personally own a Trijicon Reflex, that has to be one of the worst optics that you can buy.Quote Look into Jpoint, great optic, only issue is you lose your zero anytime you have to change the battery, OTOH I've had batteries on those last 12 months. I had one mounted on top of my ACOG, it worked beautifully, the best thing about it was you didn't have to drop your head to line your eye in the sight. Keep your head up and bring the buttstock up to your jaw and the sight lines up perfectly. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  18. My wife is especially interested in this election and has been staffing campaign phone banks. She's talked to people of all ages who have a reasonable recollection of sound bites and not much real knowledge. Quote Kind of like all the people that say they're voting for Obama because we need change but when you ask them what specifically they feel Obama is going to change they have no idea because all they've done is read his campaign flyers. 19. I think everyone can agree that taking a definite step in the direction of getting us out of there is the right thing, but how we go about it is going to make or break our future relations with Iraq as well as determine the fate of the Iraqi citizens. As far as a country dictating what we do with our military, you know what, in this situation soldiers are nothing more than a tool to enforce the decisions of our elected officials. We can tell ourselves we're more important than that all we want but look at the beginning of the Iraq war, we're nothing more than pawns for the politicians to use as they please. Now when you consider the fact that Iraq is now an ally of the US we have a responsibility to support them, shortly after 9-11 all the NATO countries enacted a new policy stating that an attack on one of us is an attack on all of us, and so long as Iraq is falling under terrorist attack we have an obligation to support them. We expected all of our allies to support us in Afghanistan, now its our time to step up to the plate and support Iraq until their security is at a level that they can maintain without our support. We ultimately have the final say in when our troops come home, but considering we started this little endeavor in Iraq its only reasonable that we see it through until the Iraqis feel they are capable of handling it on their own, pullng out before we have left them with a sfae and secure country would be a shameful act of cowardice and irresponsibility on our part. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  20. Bullshit like this is why high ranking officers are so far removed from the soldiers that they make stupid decisions, they forget what its like to be a soldier and assume every little brilliant idea that pops into their retarded little heads is perfect, despite how horribly it screws over the ground pounders. Militaries are supposed to be built around the soldiers at the lowest levels, they're the ones that make things happen, not the officers. History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  21. Flipflopping aside, I commend Bush for finally being willing to commit to a date to bring our troops home. Better late than never. Quote I'm not sure I'd go as far as to call it flip flopping, its defintely a move in the rght direction though, we do need to start handing over more responsibility to the Iraqis, but doing it on a specific timeline is just stupid. Saying we are going to have troops out by a certain date regardless of whats going on is irresponsible, the milestones for withdrawl need to be based on whats happening on the ground. The Iraqi security forces as well as the Iraqi civilians are doing a lot more to step up and take control of their own situation than they were two years ago. I got to watch several "neighborhood watch" type programs start up last year and they all were incredibly successful. As long as they keep taking responsbility for ensuring the future stability of thir country I think we'll be able to greatly reduce the number of troops in Iraq and move the ones that are left there into a strictly training/advisory role. 22. Nah, keep the draft age where it is, military service is a great way to help youngsters grow up quick I turned 18 in basic training and I'm very happy with where the military has led me, besides, how many other people do you know who are only 26 and already halfway to retirement History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 23. Can we raise it by a few years?? Pretty please?? I saw a commercial for a show about the youngest generation of voters in this election, it showed interviews with a group of 18 and 19 year olds getting ready to vote for the first time. And it proved one thing, 18 and 19 year olds are in no way educated enough to vote. They were stating who they were going to vote for and why, and honestly, they sounded like they decided who they should vote for by reading bumper stickers with campaign slogans. So I am going to start a petition to revoke 18 and 19 year olds voting rights and replace it with a law allowing us to bitch slap them any time they debate politics and quote a crappy campaign slogan. I'm also attaching another bill onto that one that makes parking spots specifically for the obese, they'll get the ones at the far end of the parking lot, plus we can bitch slap em anytime we catch em with a twinkie!
