    UFC 73

I'm pullin for Tito to utterly destroy Rashad, the light heavyweight class is getting heated, look at the lineup of top fighters we have in contention for the belt right now, Chuck, Henderson, Wanderlei, Tito, Griffin(if he wins his next fight he'll most likely be seen as a contender), it's going to be a great couple months. Sherk and Silva will both defend their titles, Sherk is a bad little mofo, and Silva is awesome at picking apart his opponents, plus I want silva to win to he can face Rich again. 6. I don't know if there's a good reason or not. Here's a couple thoughts 1 - there is still gravity, so having him on tail will help 'stand up' the formation on exit (the wind is coming at you nearly vertical to the plane, so you want the formation on its 'side' initially - not exactly, but that's the gist) 2 - He's heavy, therefore he's slow. Dropping down and presenting when already outside the plane is perceived as pretty easy. 3 - He's BIG, so get him out of the plane so the IC and the point have more room to clear the door. (I use this one). If the big guy is athletic, I like them in the IC and I give them the count. A good launch by the IC goes a long way to making the formation stable immediately - so why not use his mass. (most teams have the count with the OC.....) good questions - edit: anyone should be able to launch from any position. You aren't 'getting out of the airplane' so much as 'athletically putting the team into the relative wind'. If you are truly getting into the wind correctly, it shouldn't matter much at all. I'd rather pick slot assignments based on strengths in flying styles AND exit preferences. You know I've heard that same one a lot and I very much disagree with the whole "put the heavy guy on tail" train of thought. Ideally everyone should be flying on the relative wind as soon as they exit, there should be no "weighing down", the only reason I could see a need for that is if people up front are having weak exits. I have people quite often trying to put me on tail because I'm the bigger guy in the group, well I used to be at least, I also happen to usually be the most athletic and prefer the OC exit because I have a solid ability get up and into the wind, but I'll fly whatever, 4 way is always fun!! Personally I think when choosing slots you should do it according the each persons flying style, the exits will come with practice, I personally switched from OC to tail at the recommendation of a friend along with one of my coaches(thanks Andy H. and Liz) because I'm agressive and powerful with the way I fly so I never let myself get hosed at the back of the formation. 7. You should know that the term "coupe" means a 2 door. 4 door cars are called sedans.Quote The RX8 is a coupe and it has 4 doors(technically) quit pickin on me I can't think straight right now, I'm in the middle of cutting weight for a submission fighting tournament so I'm dehydrated, starved, and cranky, 25 pounds in 2.5 weeks kinda drains ya Thanks for the replies everyone, theres a few you all listed that I hadn't thought about yet. I'll be getting back shortly after the 08's hit the market so I'm hoping to catch a deal on an 07. take care everyone dan History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. 8. I'm going to be in the market for a new car as soon as I get home in a few months and I'm looking for a few more to compare. i'm basically looking for a well priced coupe, 2 or 4 door doesn't matter, just want something that's going to last me for a long time. I decided to turn down my big re-enlistment bonus which was going to give me enough to buy something sexy, so now I'm thinking something like a Civic, or a Scion, you know all those cheap little cars taht college stuents buy that seem to last forever no matter how bad they take care of them, I want one of those If anyone has any ideas for what else I should add to the list please throw em my way, it would be greatly appreciated. 15. Did you notice that if you go to the score boards you can select a team and view every round un-cut? Quote You're talking about the judges cam right? I saw that, overall I'm really happy with the DVD, it kicks ass! History does not long entrust the care of freedom to the weak or the timid. --Dwight D. Eisenhower
  16. If anyone has any reviews then please post them, Quote I've got my copy in the DVD player right now and I thought it was great, the only complaint I have is that even though the highlights they have are really cool, you don't really get a chance to see the 4way teams going at it on level that much, they show some cool clips mixed in there, but none of them are longer than a few seconds. Getting to see the top teams work from an on-level perspective is something that happens very rarely if ever, some longer clips of that, or possibly even all the jumps from the judges cam as well as on-level would be even more awesome. Other than that I'm really glad that I bought it

  18. It kicks ASS!!! Great video for anyone who likes watching the top teams do what they do best. It could've used a little footage to go with the highlights, wacthing the teams on level going fullspeed is always cool, but overall its a great DVD. Get one! 19. but I don't care to have every moral upper hand and good news story thrust in my face. Quote But you'd would glady make popcorn and sit in front of the TV smiling and laughing for hours of reports about how all soldiers are committing atocities themselves, right? Of the thousands of news reports every day that make it look like the soldiers are failing to do their jobs because we are too corrupt to function properly, ONE single story pops up that shows innocent children getting saved from certain death by US soldiers and all you can do is say "what the fuck ever". How dare the news stations report whats happening and tell all the stories that come across their desk, not just the ones you want to hear about. The military reports what's going on to the media every day and the media, not the military deides what makes it into the news. The military gives the media the whole story, good, bad, indifferent, and if the media should take ten minutes to spit out a story showing a bunch of children being saved why do you have to knock it, that story didn't sensationalize the soldiers involved as being knights in shining armor, it focused on the suffering of the children and the wrong-doings of those who treated these poor children in such an ill-manner, the soldiers just happened to be the ones who moved in to fix the problem. This entire thread is pathetic, there are 10 year old like arguments going on between about three different groups of people not even pertaining to the subject at hand, it's sad. Damn son. You ARE starting to see the light. Get back to me in 20 -30 yrs.I'll prolly be dead by then tho. Quote Hell, you'd shit your pants if you sw how much I've mellowed out since I started my third tour, I'm a mere shadow of my former self, i've been toe-to-toe with my teammates a few times over things that are acceptable but I still felt the need to question our level of agression. don't get me wrong I still love mixin it up(I'm 20-3 at fight nights on the FOB), but I've just found more of an understanding for the other side and what they stand for. Red Dawn

~they didn't attack to purport a social statement against the government of the region ~they didn't attack to perpetuate a religious statement against the predominant religion of the region ~they were fighting to maintain the culture they were raised within, on the land where they were raised ~Wolverines fought to protect their way of life, vs killing others for purposes of making them afraid for their lives ~they weren't fundamentalists acting upon the fringes of their society ~they were facing an occupying force in their own homeland ~they weren't the aggressors, but rather the victims. ~Wolverines had no ideals of going to heaven with virgins waiting them, but rather dying to protect what they believe in. They weren't attacking because God told them to, nor because they felt they even had divinity on their side. ~Wolverines were fighting to protect freedoms they'd been given as citizens of this country, not attempting to force their religion and accompanying government down the throats of the aggressors. Quote I agree with most of your points, but if you look at our current situation, thanks to a few bad apples in the US military quite a few people in Iraq feel that we are the same as the communists that invaded in Red Dawn. Not to mention all the people who live in remote villages that just don't know any better, they haven't had any interactions with US forces, good, bad, whatever, so they believe what they are told and there are plenty of people out there who are telling them we are here to destroy their way of life put them in prison camps and force our culture upon them. Its ashame that we are having to engage people who would most likely have no issue with us if they had been afforded the opportunity to see that we are aspiring to do good things. In some ways however, we are trying to change their way of life, we are pushing democracy on them and honestly, these people have never known democracy and it may not be the best for them, just because it works for us doesn't mean it's for everyone. Holy crap, looking at what I just wrote it hit me, I must be getting soft in my old age!!!
