You can hate them all, certainly. But if someone tries to force oppression, slavery and genocide upon you, are you willing to go to war to fight against that? What's your choice? Yes, of course. As a last resort. But we were talking about the Iraq war, weren't we? Iraq wasn't a threat to us.

I think the SCOTUS has ruled that corporations are people who have the right to lobby and participate in the political process (or something like that), and as such they are also represented by our representatives. They have an advantage now in that they can vote with dollars. It's a very sad state of affairs. But that's another issue.

    +1 If you HAVE to shoot "into the light" bring your own light for best results. Shoot manual would be another tip, figure out what the right / almost right settings would be, bring your fill flash and go up and get the shots Most important though.. have fun figuring it all out.. and don't be scared to ask questions. I think the real answer to the "ultimate" setting is.. there is none.. If you take a shot that is heavily over exposed.. it might just look like that to most of us, but if it's what you WANTED to get.. that was the "ultimate setting" for you.. It's always good to keep in mind that photography can be Art

    So, in your world, the fire department would only anwser a call to your home if you were one of the people who decided to pay for the service (for you and your own), the schools would all be private and only those who could afford to pay would be educated, the police would all be private militias working for the wealthy, the military would be mercenaries who are funded by large corporations, there would be no public parks, the roads and other infrastructure would be pay-as-you-go with toll roads and bridges everywhere, people who have no money would have to beg on the street if they needed life-saving health care. If this is true, you should be happy, because that's where we seem to be headed

    you are not required to pay taxes for simply existing. The people who simply exist and can't afford the premiums won't have to pay them. Only those who simply exist, have incomes, and refuse to get insurance will have to pay the tax. Teabaggers who are already on Medicare, Medicaid, collecting unemployment won't have to pay the tax either.

    nothing like a little taxation without representation . . . but after all socialism doesn't really have that on their agenda, that whole "representation" bit now do they? The people who drafted this and those who will vote on it are elected representatives of the people. Taxation without representation is not an issue here.

    Hey, there's nobody that can say they think Beck is a bigger douchebag than I think he is, but even I don't think he should be "silenced." He should be taken to task and ridiculed for the shit he spouts on a daily basis. He should be parodied to bring to light the stupidity of what he says. He should be publicly mocked by simply playing back the words that have come from his own lips. But "silenced"? No. He has the right to make an idiot of himself. Perhaps ... but at the very least, he should be defenestrated [/angelic]

    Why don't you check the links and find out? None are so blind as those that refuse to see. I did view the link. I view lots of other stuff, but posting the links would only serve to bring up all sorts of other topics. The OP asked a simple question ... "What do you think of Glenn Beck?" I think Glenn Beck is a dangerous RW Douchebag who qualifies as a criminal crying "FIRE!" in a crowded theater and should be silenced. That's my answer, and I'm sticking to it.

    Fixed it for ya. In the US it's a luxury. Well thanks But I like it better the other way. It's not a matter of semantics. The thing about basic human rights is that THEY EXIST regardless. They are "inalienable". This SHOULD BE self evident. In the U.S. basic health care is a luxury because the government is abridging this right to basic health care by allowing predators (mainly the useless insurance companies) to put themselves in the middle and extort huge sums of money from everyone. In this system, only the rich can afford to live.

Sounds like you need to do some research and quit letting emotion make your decisions. Medicaid/Medicare is that 'broken, bankrupted system' that you keep hearing Congress talk about. The healthcare bill fiasco strips even MORE money out of Medicare. Y'know, when Pelosi was talking about 'taking care of senior citizens', I thought she meant HELPING them....so much for THAT idea! Thank you for the advice. We do need to improve and fund Medicaid and Medicare and make them robust and open them up to ALL americans. Passing health care reform with some kind of public option is the first step. Too bad the healthcare bill doesn't have that. Really? Where do you get it from when the doctor quits, then? Is your church non-profit? Did the pastor quit?

    So, senior citizens should expect that the Republicans are going to support the full restoration of the Medicare program that they enjoy. Right? Or are you guys just going to propose an alternative rather than just making noise, and spreading lies to confuse and scare the senior citizens even more? Oh! Never mind...you think it's more important for senior citizens to be pissed and confused at the Dems than to improve medicare so that it covers them fully.
