But will it be less expensive? Afterall, the name of the bill talks about affordability. It will be more expensive than it is now, whether the HC bill is enacted or not. If there is no health care bill enacted with a public option included, the rate of increase will be maximized to benefit the insurance industry.

My advice would be to just watch it all on CSPAN to the extent possible. Listen to the source directly when possible. In any case, it's going to be good. Edit: Oops! ... never mind CSPAN is the State run media and cannot be trusted! Like many Americans I work 10-12 hours a day and commute up to 2. Watching CSPAN wouldn't be that practical. Reading a two to ten page summary on the most relevant pieces would be easy. Hopefully it will be on live radio ... and, of course there will be transcripts. You might be able to listen to four hours worth each day while you commute, maybe not. Be carefull who's summary you're reading; it's too easy these days to spin the context.

It's also covered in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which the US has agreed to. I think it says you have the right to health care, doesn't say anything about someone else paying for it. We have signed on to UDHR and Section 8. of our Constiution allows congress to make you pay for someone else's healthcare by virtue of the fact that the good healthof it's citizens is directly connected to the General Welfare of the United States. The bill needs to be amended to open up Medicare to everyone instead of making anyone BUY insurance from private insurers. I agree with you. I think Glenn Beck is shouting "FIRE!" in a crowded theater. If you were in the theater and it was on fire would you not want someone to tell you that it was on fire? Sure. Now, let me ask you a question: If you were in a theater that was NOT on fire and some insane liar shouted "FIRE!" In order to cause a panic that results in people dying.
