  1. ***But instead of killing their animal, I have the balls to confront the owner about it. It is not the animals fault, its the owners. *** That's absolutely right- its the owners, not the animals. And also, its not indicated in either case that the orginal poster sited that the cats in question posed any type of nuisance or threat. If a roaming animal (cat, dog, possum,....) poses an immediate theat to you, your children or your own pets, then of course defensive action is warranted. If its a nuisance issue, take it up with the neighbors first and if that doesn't get you anywhere, the proper authorities. That's a no brainer! And just one more comment to the OP- why don't you cover up your kid's sandbox when he isn't using it? Its irresponsible not to since ANY animal could use it as its personal toilet and your kid would be playing in feces!
  2. I'm not surprised by the verdict, although with all the jury difficulties and the length of the deliberations, I figured it could go either way. I still question why he wasn't removed from office and why the state waited until he was out of office to prosecute him. And I seriously doubt he'll ever serve a single day. The court system will be tied up in appeals for the next several years, and George Ryan will continue to stick it to the state of Illinois probably even after he's dead.
  3. And the appeals and requests for a new trial begin.
  4. Has anyone seen the Pedro Almodovar movie Talk to Her?
  5. Sociopath is a MILD word for that type of behavior.
  6. I think shooting arrows at your neighbor's pets is sick, and the person responsible is a sociopath at best. Possibly a serial killer in training. One arrow *may* have been an accident, two leaves no doubt as to the intent of the person who did it. If your neighbor's cats are a nuisance, talk to the neighbors or call animal control, don't take it out on the poor cat! As far as letting cats roam? I'm not about to touch that discussion. I'll let mine out in the yard, but I keep an eye on them while they are out- an even closer eye since I found out the kids two doors down have a new toy- a bow and arrow!
  7. He's not a troll. He's been around on and off for years, and apparently he's been pretty open about having Asperger's. Cut him some slack- he's been fascinated by skydiving for a long time and just might be making his first jump soon! Wish him luck or ignore the post, but why attack him? Good luck Clinton!
  8. I've pretty much always had cats and some of them will try and drink from the toilet. Kittens can easily fall in, and besides, drinking toilet water is gross! It just makes sense to keep the lid down and my SO has no problem with it.
  9. Yes, but don't the really good digital cameras with the interchangeable lenses tend to cost a LOT more money? Like in the thousands instead of hundreds? My friend has one- its the shit, but it cost him a small fortune.
  10. You should go to an old fashioned camera store and talk to one of the salespeople. There are still a few around and the guys that work there tend to be camera buffs. Explain the photography she likes to do, that kind of thing. You might not get the best price at one of those places, but you will get their expertise, meaning you'll buy the right stuff. Some of those 70-200mm lenses tend to be a little limiting- OK to use with perfect lighting conditions, not so good when the light is limited. I *think* the lower the lower number the better- a wide angle might start at 2.8? I used to know what all those numbers meant, but its been so long since I've messed around with my real camera, I couldn't tell you anymore! As nice as some of the digital models are, there's no substitue for the real thing!
  11. Well, I'm not about to miss Lost for American Idol, but I did see that the bottom 3 were Ace, Elliot and Bucky. And Simon was ripping on Ace and saying he should be the one going home, and the camera kept panning to Ace making sad puppy eyes. I didn't watch long enough to see any of Paula's antics, but I think much of the show focused on Ace the Face and his sad puppy eyes! He really is pretty, but where is that puke icon when we need it?
  12. Bohemian Rhapsody was never meant to be a cute honky tonk song. EVER! It was awful! worse than when Constantine did it last year, and I didn't even think that was possible! And geez- what is with her makeup people? One week she looks pretty, sexy, kind of natural and the next she looks like the living dead. Last night was not the frst time she got the funeral parlor makeup! Not to mention, she had so much goop on her eyes that if she blinked, they would have been stuck shut!
  13. Although he chose a lesser known song, I thought Chris was amazing, and Katharine very good with a few not so great notes. Am I the only one who would have liked to have seen the number she was originally going to do? No one should EVER attempt Bohemian Rhapsody when you can't even do half the song and someone needs to explain to Kellie Pickler that a) its not a honky tonk song and b) lose the Elvira/ Bride of Chuckie makeup. Ugh! Truly hideous! I agree about Ace- also what was he thinking trying to screw with the arrangement of We Will Rock You? I can't stand Paris, but she was pretty good last night. It STILL looks like she's playing "dress up" though! She just raided someone else's closet this time. Elliot was just plain bad. Taylor- too hyper. Bucky? OK, but still a little too "Big Tom" with the vocals. And as far as Chris needing to change it up, didn't he do that last week? And get put down for it?

Hey man- its all for the greater good and he feels really bad when good people die because of it!

I'm still watching, but not with the same enthusiasm. The writers are slipping, getting lazy and falling back on the formulas from previous seasons. I was surprised Keifer signed on for 3 more seasons because to me it seems like the concept has run its course. Jack alone against the world, doing what needs to be done and what apparently only he can do, with no regards for his own safety or happiness. I haven't seen Thief yet because I don't want to get hooked on another show, but Andre Braugher (sp?) is an amazing actor.

Huh? He's still weak and ineffective and he's still trying to pass the blame on to other people for his screwups, which he's done ever since they introduced the character last year. "Waaahhhh, this is all YOR fault! I didn't tell you to kill David Palmer!" I don't see any major shift in his character, except maybe that he's not as dumb as people thought he was, and he's even MORE of an egomaniac than he first appeared to be (if that's even possible.)

Nope- I think this season is almost as weak as Season 2. And I liked last season. I'll admit its starting to get better, but I think we're in for another let down next week. Heller confronting the president? Its too soon- there are what? 6 hours left? My gut tells me that can only mean one thing- Heller is involved too. Last season, Jack had to torture Audrey's husband and was responsible for his death. This season he'll probably end up having to kill her father. Guess he won't be getting any at the end of the day!
  18. I love Adrian Paul but has he done much since Highlander? ummmm yummy!
  19. Nope- Worst! Genuinely bad in its own right even without the disappointment factor!
  20. Thanks for the warning!
  21. See- I can't include Full Throttle in the worst ever category because it was never supposed to be anything but campy and dumb. On that level, it was 100% successful. Pure cheese! I feel like Sphere betrayed its audience because of the lame plot, bad acting and even worse plot twist at then end which I felt was the director's way of flipping off every person dumb enough to watch the film. Of course, I'm still bitter because we rented it and didn't return it on time, the late fee adding insult to injury. You would think I'd be over that by now! lol!
  22. Oh, and the worst movie in the bad 70s series turned big screen genre? Charlie's Angels doesn't even get that honor- Starsky and Hutch was way worse. I saw it for free on a plane and I still felt cheated!
  23. My vote for the worst movie EVER still has to be Sphere. It was terrible and insulting. And what makes it so bad is that it had such a hugely talented cast, meaning the producers sold it to the public as a "good" movie. You can't say that about the Charlie's Angels flicks, or anything with Steven Seagal in it. Those movies don't "pretend" to be anything but what they are- kind of trashy, maybe a guilty pleasure or strictly action. They get a pass in my book. I expect better from actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Dustin Hoffman.
  24. Cracker Jacks for the nostalgia factor- like at a baseball game, Crunch'n Munch or Poppy Cock for flavor when you need a sweet and crunchy snack.
