I don't think its "normal" or abnormal, but it also isn't unusual. I think it really depends on the relationships involved and how secure the other person feels.

I feel sorry for any parent that has to fight to spend time with his or her kid. And I especially feel sorry for any child being used by his parents to get back at each other. This is just another sad, pathetic custody battle being made public because the parents are famous. Since you don't know any of them personally, and haven't seen any evidence, how can you really take sides? Is it because she's a pretty blonde and you don't like his movies or politics?? I hope for the child's sake that the judge looks a little deeper.

Ditto with Flyinghonu and AggieDave. I found the movie pretty disturbing, and hard to categorize. There was some male nudity, and one scene of what amounts to homemade porn that the marines were all watching and lots of profanity, blood, gore and violence. None of it is gratuitous, though. I'm just not sure its appropriate for a 15 year old- especially watching it unsupervised. The subject matter is pretty deep.

Ditto! That suit might be a little too "trendy" for a banker's convention, but not for a RE convention in Vegas. Just my humble opinion! Since you didn't end up wearing it, what was everyone else wearing? Was your dad right?

I love Trader Joes as well, but it is about a quarter of the size of Whole Foods. I think you could fit an entire Trader Joes into the Whole Foods produce department. I think of Whole Foods as more of a gourmet store, and I'll go there if I'm planning a special meal. They have a lot of items I can't find at the regular grocery store OR Trader Joes.

Mushrooms growing in the bathroom? Add mold (potentially toxic) to your list of things to worry about and get your family OUT of that house as soon as you possibly can. You would be no worse off living out of your van at this point- at least you can feel pretty comfortable that there isn't anything toxic there, right? Here's a thought- drive your family to the landlord's and tell him you're there to take showers, maybe spend the night.

Bolas- I've actually NEVER been to Rantoul or Quincy, but I'm at Summerfest every year. (Home dz and all.....) And depending on who you ask, my hair is blonde, red or strawberry blonde. (I don't color it, it just has a mind of its own and looks a little different from day to day!) And Chris- I probably lost credibility just for admitting I watch American Idol! Sunny- you're too sweet!

In Chicago, there's a special line for military personnel. Could be there's one in Cleveland too. A lot depends on the time of day you're flying is as well. But with over 2 hours between flights, you should be fine regardless!

Bolas is right. You have legal recourse. Among other things, your landlord isn't LETTING you out of your lease. Unless he can cure the problem with the well in a reasonable timeframe, the lease isn't enforceable. And, the landlord should be paying your daughter's medical bills AND putting your family up in a hotel since he's unable to provide you with water. (This isn't a natural disaster where everyone needs to boil water!)

Well, if I recall, Season 2 ended with an assassination attempt on the president which was BARELY mentioned in Season 3- other than he kept rubbing his hands, and the doctor who apparently treated him became his girlfriend. So, even though Jack is now actually on a "Slow Boat to China", the whole resolution to the Chinese situation could happen during the "off season". Those darn writers did it again! We'll all need to buy the Season 5 DVDs for our Season 6 prequel!

My dentist says the best time to use them is right AFTER you get your teeth cleaned (otherwise you are really just bleaching tartar and plaque.) And he does recommend them.

Honestly, Don't beat yourself up too much for trusting her, OR for feeling some compassion for her and your friend. This kind of theft is REALLY common, unfortunately. And I'm sorry your buddy is pissed, but hopefully he'll get over it, or at least not take it out on you. He needed to know. SHE needed to know that you know, and yes, they need to return the key. Ouch---- I hope the situation gets better soon. You were a good friend to hire her and extend your trust. I'm sorry it didn't work out.

Try to ignore the ugliness of that post if you can. If you don't want to turn her in to the authorities, you still need to confront her and cut her loose AND tell her husbad exactly what happened. You owe him that; if she's "slipping", he needs to know. Hindsight is 20/20 and all, but a drug addict working near narcotics is never going to be a good fit anyway. Hopefully, she'll go back into rehab, get the help she needs and you'll be able to salvage the friendship. Good luck to you! maura

OK- If the others have only taken "good" people so far, then why did they want Kate and Sawyer, who are both killers? And initially, Eko was on their list to take as well. He was also a killer, although you could argue he was seeking redemption. And why did they leave behind so many other "good" people?

I don't define artistry by mass appeal or how much money a person could make for a record label or production company. However, American Idol DOES, at least they always have in the past. The show has always been about making THEM money. For that reason alone, I really don't understand why the AI machine is pimping Taylor so heavily over Katharine, because it seems like such a no brainer.
